  1. I once comped Made's prospect rise to Ronald Acuna. I think I was inaccurate with that only because of his teammate. That swing has more than shades of Acuna to it. Especially after watching him demolish us last series.
  2. Braylon Payne looks lost and totally overmatched after that hot start. Here's hoping the tools start to shine through. The stat line isn't the end all be all, but we need to start seeing some better ABs.
  3. Don't forget the (basically) first round pick and bonus slot money too. Him not striking anyone out lately is red flag. At least he isn't walking near as many batters.
  4. Interesting to see how he compares to Bauer another IL LHP from the prep ranks. If you're the Brewers do you take more of the finished product that shows command with multiple pitches? Or do you take the raw lump of clay with what could be elite stuff, but basically Ricky Vaughn (Wild Thing for the younger readers) and pray the lab can unlock him to his full potential. I'm inclined to go with the former first but I am more risk adverse lol.
  5. Oh we would be cooking with LaViolette. This is the lowest I have seen him on any big board by far. Is there that big of concerns with the hit tool?
  6. Man I really want one of the Gavins. Gavin Fien is my dream pick. I think there is a lot of Cooper Pratt (with more pop) and the potential to grow power wise is incredibly enticing. Gavin Kilen is a really fun player too already a 60 grade hit tool that will move incredibly fast through the system. Hometown kid too which is always a fun story to follow, but the kid can flat out hit. He fits their model. Also with the ABS system presumably coming to the MLB next year the brewers long con of drafting shorties can pay off. I have a friend that lives near Jack Bauer. I'm curious to see where the 102 mph hype has him landing. Last HS pitcher with that kind of velo hype was Hunter Greene and before that Riley Pint
  7. You gotta think the Brewers give him a shot as their primary utility man soon
  8. Sucks seeing Theo Gillen balling especially now given how poor Payne has looked at the plate as of late.
  9. Melvin Hernandez needs to put on some weight MiLB has him at 139 lbs. I know 7th graders heavier lol, but yeah changeup is an impressive pitch. Maybe some velo comes as he fills out. Still only 5'11 too so no guarantee. I love a good junkballer
  10. That is good advice I will ask around especially our OBGYN since we have a decent relationship with her. I should say I have 5.5 years of proven sales experience so I figured it be a tad bit easier looking lol. It is really humbling to finally break through 6 figures which was always one of my goals income wise and then come crashing down to Earth. I think that is where I feel the root of my current failure. I have an interview lined up at another insurance firm in Appleton so we shall see how that turns out. I just know I need to make some leaps forward career wise. Thank you for your response.
  11. 21 inches of break on that sweeper for a K by Wichrowski
  12. Wichrowski seems to have that velo back up again consistently. He is pretty nasty especially tunneling that plus slider off the fastball.
  13. Also the BS agenda of pushing out every small market star every chance they can get (Giannis) has made me outright quit watching all together (unless there is MNF)
  14. I still think Chourio overall is still a bit too aggressive in his approach. He is swinging too much early in the count and out of the zone as a result. However, it is good to see him striking the ball with more authority consistently.
  15. Wichrowski is a little rich for my blood considering the salary he has this year and he would be just a half season rental. Especially with his velo bump and starting to miss a lot more bats at AA.
  16. I am gonna ask a really dumb question. How do you even get started with investing? Do you go through a financial planner? I just really need some direction in order to start planning for retirement. I am almost 30 and really only just have a decent HY savings account.
  17. I am gonna be pretty vulnerable on this post. I am 29 years old and have never felt so stuck career wise. I am busting my rear end now more than ever with little to show for it. I am a (now) remote insurance broker. A lot of serious changes have happened in the past two months. Our small start up has merged with another company and just like that my commission basically halved. I am a top performer and I am starting to just plateau. I went from hitting my yearly financial goals to only making 60% of it. Now it is projected for worse. It is the offseason so to speak and I am an independent contractor since the start of January. It is really feast or famine in this format. They are now including bs deductions to our pay as well for lacking proficient client retention. Even though we have a team for this and I have followed their protocols to a T. I just am so disheartened and really don't know where to turn next. Any type of guidance would be greatly appreciated. I have my degree in biology, so I have been working at getting my foot in the door for medical device sales but after a couple phone interviews it is the classic ghosting. I am willing to change my career field entirely but I think sales is where I thrive. I have a good knack for connecting with people and I really enjoy doing so. Some nights go by and I feel like I am failing my 1 year old and wife (who is a K teacher) even though I am absolutely busting my rear end.
  18. I like to think of myself pretty informed on the player dev side of things, but this interview was phenomenal and I learned so much more. Brenton sounds like a huge reason for our success in the minors and I am excited to see his rocket like trajectory in the org.
  19. Hey Spencer what are we thinking about Braylon Payne? You think the injuries are affecting him or threw off his rhythm. Was the start to the season a bit fluky? Down to a 109 wRC+ now. The tools are definitely there.
  20. Exactly. He is one to always be locked in his takes and never usually wavers even with new information. Probably an ego thing, but to be the best evaluator possible you'd think you'd be far more fluid as new info and data comes in. Baseball is a sport where the point the player begins can be vastly different to where they end. Adjustments exist and can change a player's entire trajectory. Has happened all throughout MLB history. You would think he would know this.
  21. Keith law… that name just gives me, as the girls say now, “the ick”. Always one to go against the consensus and it rarely turns out for him. Contrarian takes that are often loud and wrong. He’s been consistently one of the most inaccurate evaluators in recent memory and there’s always such a negative undertone. That blurb directly contrasts with Josh Norris’ opinion on Made (someone that knows ball) Hate that I even gave it a click.
  22. Oppo Taco for Wilken! That is number 12 on the season so far! The wife knows best!
  23. Made with a hard hit ground ball but turns into a 4-3 putout. He is getting his first taste of adversity at the pro level. Still walking at a good clip at least though, so lets see how the young man responds!
