  1. Gausman mowing us down like chumps pretty much cements my opinion on this trade. Seems like the analytics team got out argued by some scouts that liked Schoop’s tools. The trade never made sense with the fit. Meanwhile Schoop has been absolutely abysmal. I’d rather Orlando play at this point for his defense. Just overall disappointed with the early returns tbh. Can’t win em all.
  2. That’s what I’m wondering. I imagine he’ll be available for a pinch hit at bat in the later innings, but probably not to start. I just looked and it's a 6 hour flight so I doubt he'll be active. Probably in the clubhouse though.
  3. I think we gave a better package for Schoop than what the Braves gave for Gausman. That's where I don't understand the logic...
  4. Agree to disagree Fangraphs has him as a 40 to use a 3rd party source, though that was going into this year. Not that he has done much to change that. Maybe I'm prospect hugging, but we shall revist this in a couple years. It's done with, and I don't really understand the move, but it's a good controllable ML bat at a weak position. I'm glad we didn't over pay for an arm.
  5. Deep breaths, deep breaths. This system lacks high ceiling talent. Carmona is just that. Call me crazy but I'm kind of sick of mediocre 40-45 FV depth guys.
  6. I think Dozier is a FA after this year. Brewers get Schoop for 2019 as well. Why do we need a controllable 2B when Hiura's bat should be ML ready in a years time? I'd argue that his bat is ready now. Glove still needs work.
  7. You are worried about losing a rookie ball shortstop prospect with an OPS of .700? LOL You. Don't. Scout. The. Statline.
  8. I can now love Pham as a player. I think this is highway robbery for the Rays.
  9. Pretty sure we're gonna stand pat (BOLD haha) the market is garbage.
  10. Not a needle mover... next.
  11. He's been pretty darn bad this year. I definitely wouldn't be scared of the Cubs adding him as their only move. And if they blow any kind of asset on him... gravy.
  12. Do people think he can still provide a big impact, and that his bat is worth moving Shaw to 2nd? Is he just a big name at this point?
  13. Phillips/Ortiz and a couple other pieces? The Mets are pretty stupid...
  14. Heyman just tweeted the Mets think they can contend next year, so rival executives think they won’t deal him... Hahahahahahahahahaha that organization is the worst in pro sports.
  15. How in the world is that a botched first rounder? He had tons of talent, was putting it together this year, and they leveraged that into a reliever with a ton of value and future control. I don't know if you understand how this works. Eric Arnett, Jed Bradley, Clint Coulter, Victor Roache... yes I consider Medieros to be another botched first by the Seid era. Considering we were picking 12 a high leverage reliever is not great. I’m glad we were able to get value out of him.
  16. Still don’t like it... Oh well if he has a Swarzak like impact I can’t complain.
  17. Yikes saw a future as a high leverage reliever for Kodi. Thats another botched first rounder.
  18. And that’s why it’s an MLB.com branch. Just skimmed over most of their rankings... and they’re not terrible but not great IMO. BP has totally surpassed them and BA and it isn’t even close anymore.
  19. Gibson doesn’t move the needle either... pass. Still wouldn’t mind Dozier at a rental rate though.
  20. I’ve always liked Randall Delgado’s stuff dating back to his time as a prospect with the Braves. Shame things haven’t worked out for him.
  21. Thought I saw that the Jays had lowered their initial asking price, which was probably this Sheffield or Frazier ask from NYY. They probably did, and I still wouldn’t give them a top 20 guy.
  22. This seems like a bit of an overreaction. It's really not that lopsided. A player coming off a 3 WAR season where he hit 30 HR, and under control until 2022 going for a 35 year old rental who probably doesn’t move the needle... yeah I’d say that’s pretty lopsided. I’d give them someone like Bickford.
