  1. I have a hunch we aren’t done yet.
  2. Gotta give Winker a swing there at the end.
  3. Shouldn't Chourio be added to this list? I think we can all agree he'll be playing the big leagues sometime next year, so why not this year? Robin Yount played as an 18 year old, why can't Chourio as a 19 year old? I think it's at least worth the discussion. If he gets called up, you move Yelich to a full time DH role, and that problem is solved. We saw the fever pitch excitement for Frelick's first game, can you imagine what Chourio's first game would be like?
  4. If he dominates his first few appearances at AA, I wouldn't be shocked if this happens. He sure looked MLB ready at the futures game.
  5. I think I'd leave Yelich in LF and not mess with him right now. I think we should call Frelick up now and give him 10 days or so before the trade deadline to see how he acclimates. If he looks the part, then maybe we only need to add an infield or DH bat at the deadline.
  6. It sure feels to me a Frelick call up is imminent. My only question does he play RF or CF and move Weimer to RF?
  7. With the emergence of Uribe and the eventual return of Woodruff and Ashby, it is becoming more evident the Brewers do not need to add any arms at the deadline.
  8. I would love to see us bring Frelick up now before the deadline to see what we have there. Play him in CF and move Wiemer to RF. I know Frelick hasn't been great since his return to the thumb injury, but he can't be any worse than what we are running out there now.
  9. Can the Colin Rea experiment please be over with?
  10. Call him up, he’s ready.
  11. The key will be how much they net for Burnes in a trade. There is zero chance Burnes re-signs with Milwaukee after hiring Scott Boras, who is not known for giving out hometown discounts. The writing on the wall became very clear when Burnes changed agents. So, do you trade Burnes in July, or wait until the offseason? If I'm Matt Arnold, I let it be known Burnes is available this trade deadline for the right price. There is simply no other pitcher of his caliber that will be available, and the return could and should be enormous. That trade alone could very well determine how good we are in five years. BUT, with how much of a backlash there was over trading Hader at last year's deadline, I could see Arnold waiting until the offseason to make the trade. I believe there is zero chance we see Burnes in Arizona next February.
  12. Is it shortsighted of me to want Yelich to play well so his trade value increases? His contract just seems like an albatross around a franchise with little money to spend.
  13. Make him a platoon player, for starters.
  14. Safe to say the return of Urias and Adames spells the end of the Andruw Monasterio era, at least for now? He has been a breath of fresh air on a team that doesn't make a lot of contact,
  15. This season was marketed by the team as the year of "the Freshmen", as evidenced by all those videos they did. Well, two of them have been hurt most of the year, one is a platoon player, and the other one has a .578 OPS. All that youth movement energy has been sucked out, and we are left with a bunch of middling, average players that are hard to watch. Maybe the excitement returns when Woodruff and Frelick are healthy, but I'm not holding my breath at this point.
  16. Can we please stop starting Luke Voit against anybody?! Counsell is demonstrating a Mike Budenholzer level of incompetence when it comes to setting lineups.
  17. The Brewers need to commit, commit, commit to their young players, and then commit some more. The franchise could likely be without Burnes and Woodruff come 2025, and their young talent will be more critical than ever if they want any chance at being competitive. We aren't winning any championships by signing a bunch of middle of the road free agents anytime soon.
  18. I would hate this. It was really uninspiring watching Brewer baseball last season, especially after the trade deadline. The "freshmen" have given the big league club a shot in the arm that it sorely needed IMO. These young players are the future of our franchise, and they have absolutely nothing left to prove in the minor leagues. The only way they are going to get better is to play consistently at the big league level. I also don't believe the team is squandering an opportunity to win a world championship by playing Turang and not Owen Miller or Luis Urias when he returns. As a fan, I am more than willing to deal with the growing pains, and I hope Counsell and Arnold are too. The same concept would apply to Weimer and Frelick when he gets healthy.
  19. They have faced two LHP starters and haven't scored a run against either one. I'm all for giving the young guys a day off from time to time, but a strict platoon is not necessary IMO.
  20. I just hate that two of our best young players in Mitchell and Turang appear to be platoon players right now. They make up the core future of our team and should be playing everyday, regardless of the opposing pitcher.
  21. This is why I wish we would have just fallen out of contention and became sellers so stuff like this didn't happen. This trade is awful.
