  1. These games against the DBacks are critical. If we can get these next two games and hope the Cubs lose one of the next two, I would feel good about the division. It still feels like the division is within reach for the Cubs with us having the Blue Jays, Phillies and Padres left on the schedule.
  2. This should be Uribe’s first game as closer. He is much more of a sure thing than Megill is right now.
  3. This team seems far too strong to completely fold up against their division rival. I anticipate them winning at least one of the next two games, if not both. Miz just needs to throw strikes tonight and he'll be fine.
  4. I think it’s time Yelich enters into the conversation for MVP:
  5. Brilliant move. Gotta keep his innings down so he is fully available for the playoffs!
  6. With the crazy premium being placed on pitching, we really need to consider trading Cortes. I would think he still holds solid value for teams needing SP.
  7. The Cubs can do that because they have an astronomically higher payroll than we do. If they give up prospects for a rental, they can go sign another 2-3 free agents the next year. We don't have that luxury.
  8. He's the one guy on the trade market who could vault us into favorites to win a World Series. I think you do whatever it takes to land him.
  9. I agree 100%. They can't rest on their laurels because of recent good play. Most if not all of the other contenders will make moves and improve their rosters, and so should we. The competition will only become more fierce following the trade deadline.
  10. Any chance we stand completely pat at the deadline? Hard to pinpoint a compelling need for this team right now.
  11. The Brewers need to stop looking for.a third baseman and look for a shortstop at the deadline.
  12. No doubt. This would be a clear "go for it" move and very contrary to what they normally do. I am wondering if they could include some of their excess pitching to get this deal done.
  13. I know he will be highly sought after, but Eugenio Suarez is the one guy that I feel could put us over the top. It is really hard to scratch together 4-5 hits in an inning in the playoffs, you need boppers that can hit the ball out of the ballpark. Suarez is that guy for me, at a position of relative need.
  14. It’s amazing how Miz has completely changed the complexion of this team. All of his starts are must see TV and the fanbase and players seem totally reinvigorated.
  15. Hope Vaughn takes this opportunity and runs with it. Then you have some right handed and left handed thump coming off the bench in Hoskins and Bauers.
  16. Wow what a trade! These are types of moves that have been keeping the crew competitive for several years now. He’s clearly found another gear with the help of our highly competent pitching staff.
  17. It’s amazing how one pitcher can change the whole complexion of a team but Miz certainly seems to have done that.
  18. In only his second start in the big leagues, the Miz is already must-see TV. I can't remember another homegrown pitcher I have been this excited about. It certainly is a great time to be a Brewers fan.
  19. 6 1/2 games behind the Cubs, who appear to have a better team than us (certainly offensively). It will be interesting how hard we push for a wildcard spot or trade away veteran pieces and look forward to a very bright not-too-distant future.
  20. Brock Wilken is leading the Southern League in OPS and tied for the MiLB lead in HRs. He needs to get promoted to Nashville and see if he could help the big league club out this year yet. It would be nice to get that clarity before the trade deadline.
