  1. New Youtube link for EP10. Thanks for listening!
  2. MLB installed it using software that makes sure every fan is sitting in the correct seat that they purchased. If not, then robot ushers will be deployed.
  3. I think that DBacks Lefty Patrick Corbin is establishing himself at the best player on this list of 2019 Free Agent Starters. If this rumor is true that the Brewers were interested in Corbin this past offseason, it stand to reason they would be interested in him as a Free Agent. https://www.brewcrewball.com/2018/1/27/16940042/milwaukee-brewers-have-had-extensive-talks-with-arizona-about-patrick-corbin-per-report I just hope now if he continues on a CY Young Award caliber walk season that he will price himself out of the Brewers market/price range.

  5. I suppose I don't understand why a GM would sign a guy that he knew would struggle. I guess....you get what you pay for?
  6. 2018.5 is unrealistic if you ask me. Young pitchers usually go through growing pains for their first season or two in the league. Just because they have great minor league track records and/or prospect pedigrees doesn't mean that they enter the majors to immediate success. However, the ups and downs they might experience at the MLB level during the next two seasons will be invaluable starting in 2020 and going forward. That's the beauty of the last phase of a rebuild.
  7. This is not starting a thread just because a player is off to a poor start, if so I could have made one about Orlando Arcia. I've watched Chacin pitch for years and I was never a fan. He doesn't K anyone and his stuff simply is not very good, IMO. I know after the signing Brewer fans had on their rose colored glasses and was hoping Stearns discovered another late blooming pitcher like Chase Anderson but I simply don't think Chacin has the talent and is a replacement level player. Just calling a spade a spade, unfortuately. As a Brewer fan who hangs on every pitch, I'd be more than happy to be proven wrong. I don't doubt that the signing of Chacin was just to eat innings to build a bridge to our younger arms that are nearly MLB-ready. If that's the case however, I believe that the Cain signing and the Yelich trade were done with an eye on truly competing in 2020-2022, and having this year and next as the last of the rebuild. This also would explain why the Brewers did not sign a better quality/higher priced starting pitcher. Personally, I had higher hopes for the Brewers this season after we over-achieved last year and I am fine tempering my 2018 expectations a bit for the greater good in the long haul. I simply may not enjoy watching Chacin pitch in a Brewers uniform until he moves aside to let the younger pitchers get more MLB experience.
  8. Let's recap Golden Boy GM David Stearns 3 free agent starting pitcher signings this offseason. SP Jhoulys Chacin SP Yovani Gallardo SP Wade Miley Um....terrible. Obviously Gallardo and Miley were signed to minor league deals and much wasn't expected of them but Chacin inked a two-year deal. I realize that 3 starts is a small sample size but he hasn't pitched 6 innings in any of them. 13 2/3 Ip and he has allowed 19 hits but more alarming is 7bb to 7k ratio. 6.59 ERA and 1.90 WHIP Hopefully he shuts me up and tosses a gem vs. Thor this Sunday but I'm just not seeing it with this guy. I understand that people are going to think this is an over reaction to a slow start to the season but if you look at his career numbers Chacin doesn't seem like anything more than a #5 starter on a non-contending team. Anyone else concerned that he doesn't make it through the year in our rotation?

  10. Knebel likely won't be out all long as we all feared!!!! (4-6 weeks)
  11. While backups should get enough "work" every couple of days, I don't think they need to get starts. Cain Yelich Braun and even Arcia should be in the starting lineup every day that they are healthy, IMO, with maybe a scheduled off day once or twice a month. The bench players can get their work in late in games as defensive replacements in games we are winning or as mop-up in games we are getting blown out. I disagree with Counsell giving our best players scheduled off-days or non-starts nearly once or more a week. A week into the season that didn't even have a game on Sunday and he's given Braun 2 games off and Yelich and Arica both one.
  12. It sounds like his players are already expressing their frustrations with Kapler through the media. Not good. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/phillies-outfielder-blames-the-computers-for-his-lack-of-playing-time/
  13. I've read multiple times that relievers themselves like somewhat defined roles in the bullpen so that they can mentally prepare for the situation they will be brought into the game for. For this reason, I would prefer that Counsell designated one guy as the closer. If he's unsuccessful, then simply name a new closer and so on. At this point, I'm preparing for Knebel to be back by the All-Star break as the good news version of what injury update may be forthcoming.
  14. I think people guessing Jeffress are likely going to be correct. During Opening Day in San Diego last week, after Knebel blew the save and the Brewers did not score in the top of the 10th, Counsell used Jeffress for the bottom of the 10th inning. After the Brewers scored in the top of the 11th, Barnes pitched the bottom for the save. However, since Counsell used Jeffress first with the game on the line after Knebel, this hint leads me to believe that Counsell would prefer Jeffress in the role over Barnes.
  15. Until Knebel can pitch again, who will be the Brewers fill in closer? Canidates The phenom LHP Josh Hader The Vets with closer experience RHP Jeremy Jeffress RHP Matt Albers The Young Guns RHP Jacob Barnes RHP Taylor Williams Dark Horses RHP JJ Hoover LHP Dan Jennings Just No RHP Oliver Drake My guess is that Jeffress would be in consideration due to his closing experience with the Club but I think Barnes could emerge if Knebel is out an extended period of time. I just hope Counsell doesn't go with a committee approach because I'm not a fan of that at all. Thoughts?

  18. I think Braun would still be disliked by every non-Brewer fan even if none of the steroid stuff happened. And its not just because of how good he is at baseball, He simply has a certain air about him. Call it whatever you like but he just comes off as that type of guy that orders bottle service at a posh nightclub and sits in the VIP section, looking down at everyone else like he is more entitled, In fact I strongly dislike Bryce Harper for the same reason. Brewer fans know that if Braun was on the Cards or Cubs they would hate him more than their other players.
  19. Wow. Brewer fans really should be cutting Bob Uecker some slack. The guys is 83 years old. He's a National Treasure and Milwaukee is lucky to have him. Brewer baseball will never be the same once he is gone. Period. Please enjoy him every second while you can.
