  1. I think an equivelant Brewers offer would be OF Lewis Brinson LHP Josh Hader 1B/C Jacob Nottingham 1B Garrett Cooper
  2. Kinda surprised that the Astros didn't beat this package.
  3. I think Eric Arnett seems painful because he was the pick right after Mike Trout, who the Brewers reportedly were set to select.
  4. I guess this is their response to the Brewers calling up Brent Suter.
  5. Dang. I thought Quintana would cost more. I see no way to spin this as good news for the Brewers. Can't believe they didn't have to give up Haap or Schwarber. Eloy Jimenez is a top 5 prospect in baseball though. He was the headliner the White Sox were looking for I guess.
  6. I think the Padres are asking WAY too much for Hand. I'd rather go get Kyle Barraclough from the Marlins for cheaper. No Way the Braves would do a Villar/Teheran swap, BTW. Also, I added RHP Marcus Stroman, Toronto Blue Jays, Contract 17= $3.4M, 18=Arb, 19= Arb, 20=Arb to the list to start this start of Young and Controllable SP targets
  7. I just don't think that Fulmer or Manaea are going to be made available. How do you guys value Marcus Stroman? He's controlled thru 2020. (ARB Eligible) I also think the Blue Jays would have to be blown away to move him, but I think it's more likely than those other two.
  8. This is what I'm taking about! Dillard has staying power. He already tried a Mississippi Mud Ball and throwing Sidearm to extend his career. As soon as he figures out the knuckleball, baseball will never be able to get rid of him!
  9. The goats inspired me. What can I say? I'm a UW-Madison grad who was the #1 superfan of The Onion (http://www.theonion.com/) publication that got it's start in Madison. Thought if nothing else this thread would bring some "Tim Dillard" awareness to some of the younger Brewer fans. Not many know that the Brewers have had the funniest man in professional sports toiling in their farm system for the last dozen or so years. His twitter videos are pure gold... My apologies if I wasted the time of anyone that doesn't have a sense of humor. No one could ever withhold the intrigue of clicking on a thread with such a provocative title as "Tim Dillard". lol
  10. Tim Dillard is a Top 10 Brewers Minor League Prospect. Except his list goes to 11.
  11. What could the Brewers get for him? Personally, I don't really want to trade him unless we can get someone like Bellinger or Judge in return. Then again we have enough OFers already, so it's kinda pointless if they would both be blocked by Braun anyway. Dillard is maybe a fringe Top 10 prospect but I did find this list that had him at #11. He even got a B-. That's pretty darn good for someone that only carried a C average throughout High School! https://www.minorleagueball.com/2006/7/26/133727/213 11) Tim Dillard, RHP, B- 3.33 ERA in 111 innings for Huntsville, 70/31 K/BB. Competent strike-thrower who can start or relieve. Doesn't dominate but gets the job done, at least in the minors. Let me repeat that... Doesn't dominate but gets the job done, at least in the minors. He sure does. I'd still be willing to move him for a top of the rotation, controlable starter NOT named Sonny Gray. (who sucks BTW) But I'm worried that if we trade him now, it could set the Brewers rebuild back by a few decades. What do you fellas think?
  12. I think it would take Villar and 2 of the Brewers top 10 prospects to net Teheran.
  13. Or I could have simply responded... "Why do you believe humans need water?"
  14. Because in my mind Brent Suter is as good as Clayton Kershaw, but just in case reality says otherwise it could be a good idea.
  15. I believe Fulmer will be ARB eligible through 2021. Not only is he better than Quintana but he's controlled an extra year. I think the asking price would be enormous and one stearns would be be willing to pay I'm certain. Probably Brinson, Hader, Woodruff and Dubon.
  16. Bumgarner is a once in a generational pitcher with a hall of fame starter kit resume. No way can they turn down 3 Top 100 prospects??? Lol Only 1 in 3 top 100 prospects make an impact in the Majors and less than 1 in 10 become stars If the Giants agree to trade Madison for 3 players, Arcia would qualify as maybe the 3rd piece in the deal. Possibly Brinson. The players that would fit the bill on the first two headliners, the Brewers simply don't own.
  17. Oakland Brewers get: RHP Sonny Gray, LHP Sean Doolittle A's get: OF Corey Ray, RHP Brandon Woodruff, OF Monte Harrison, RHP Freddy Peralta
  18. They do, but it would pretty much ruin the system. And I feel Bumgarner's close to going full on Verlander anyway. He's been ridden hard his career with long post season runs and those innings are going to catch up eventually. Maybe his bike accident and time off due to it bought him another year of effectiveness but I wouldn't expect many more years of ace level work from him. They do not. What player, in your opinion, could the Brewers offer as a headliner to a deal for Madison Bumgarner? Brinson and Hader? Not a chance. Arcia? Nope. They aren't going to trade their franchise ace and postseason hero for about 8 solid regulars/prospects that we'd be able to offer. They would be almost certainly looking for quality over quantity. It may be a different story if they were starting a full rebuild, but I doubt that will happen anytime soon.
  19. I would have to say that MadBum is 100% not available. Even if he was, the Brewers would not have the type of player(s) in their system to headline a deal to acquire him.
  20. FYI, since Keston Hiura was just drafted in June, he's not eligible to be traded until after the World Series. I'm curious on your thoughts on why Mauricio Dubon would be too valuable to trade? Seems like Brewers have plenty of MI depth.
  21. This is even more crazy to ponder... Last season Jonathan Villar was are best hitter and Junior Guerra was our best pitcher. If I would have told you as a Brewer fan that both of those players would regress big time this year, that our "franchise player" Ryan Braun wouldn't be traded but instead spend a good portion of the first half on the DL, and that our FA closer acquisition Neftali Feliz was going be so bad that he would be released before the All-Star break... ...but that the Brew Crew would overcome all that somehow to still lead the NL Central by 5.5 games at the break, you would have said YEAH, RIGHT.
  22. I actually think Hader is a more valuable prospect to the organization than Brinson. And I say this even is he doesn't stick in the rotation. I don't think he'll reach his Chris Sale-like ceiling, but I do think he'll either be a solid #3-type starter or a Andrew Miller-lite type, multi-inning back end reliever. Stearns could replace a 20hr/20sb type OF like Brinson with the Keon Broxton-type hidden gems he seems to be able acquire via trade.
  23. He shouldn't be a buy low. Everything except for ERA is great. The Giants don't seem to be on the cutting edge of anything so maybe he'll come cheap though. The Giants are only on the cutting edge of nailing their 1st round pick every year. That and winning World Series' lol
  24. Thought I'd throw together a list of potential Starting Pitcher Trade Targets for the Brewers this month with contract details: (CO)= Club Option (VO)= Vesting Option Arb= Arbitration Eligible Young and Controllable for 2+ seasons LHP Jose Quintana, Chicago White Sox, Contract 17=$7M, 18=$8.8M, 19= $10M (CO) 20= $10M (CO) RHP Marcus Stroman, Toronto Blue Jays, Contract 17= $3.4M, 18=Arb, 19= Arb, 20=Arb RHP Sonny Gray, Oakland A's, Contract 17= $3.5M, 18=Arb, 19= Arb RHP Julio Teheran, Atlanta Braves, Contract 17= $6.3, 18= $8, 19= $11, 20= $12M (CO) RHP Dylan Bundy, Baltimore Orioles, Contract 17= $1.6M, 18= Pre-Arb, 19=Arb, 20=Arb, 21=Arb LHP Daniel Norris, Detroit Tigers, Contract 17= 500k, 18=Pre-Arb, 19= Arb, 20= Arb=, 21 Arb One Season Rentals RHP Yu Darvish, Texas Rangers, Contract 17= $11M RHP Marco Estrada, Toronto Blue Jays, Contract 17= $14M LHP Francisco Liriano, Toronto Blue Jays, Contract 17= $13M RHP Jeremy Hellickson, Philadelphia Phillies, Contract 17= $17.2M LHP Jamie Garcia, Atlanta Braves, Contracdt 17= $12M RHP Chris Tillman, Baltimore Orioles, Contract 17= $10M Bargin Bin RHP Trevor Cahill, San Diego Padres, Contract 17= $1.75M RHP Jhoulys Chacin, San Diego Padres, Contract 17= $1.75M Short Term Rentals RHP Ervin Santana, Minnesota Twins, Contract 17= $13.5, 18= $13.5M, 19= $14M LHP Matt Moore, San Francisco Giants, Contract 17= $7M, 18= 9M, 19= $10M LHP JA Haap, Toronto Blue Jays, Contract 17= $13M, 18= $13M RHP Edison Volquez, Miami Marlins, Contract 17= $9M, 18= $13M Big Contacts LHP Cole Hamels, Texas Rangers, Contract 17=$22.5M 18= $22.5M 19= $20M (VO) RHP Justin Verlander, Detroit Tigers, Contract 17=28M, 18=$28M, 19=$28M, 20=$22M (CO) RHP Jordan Zimmermann, Detroit Tigers, Contract 17=18M, 18=$24M, 19= $25M, 20=$25M RHP Jeff Samardzija, San Francisco Giants, 17= $18M, 18= $18M, 19= $18m, 20= $18M RHP James Shields, Chicago White Sox, Contract 17= $21M, 18= $21M, 19=$16M (CO) Note: I left off Pirates Gerrit Cole and Rays Chris Archer because I don't believe they will be made available. I'll add in Michael Fulmer to these guys as players if available would be too costly to the Brewers rebuild to pony up for. It has been reported that with ownership change, the Marlins Dan Straily will also not be made available. Let me know if their are other SP trade targets that you think should be added. I'll try to add to this as the month of July progresses.
