  1. Huh? The Dodgers traded Jose De Leon to get Logan Forsythe to be their starting 2B this past offseason.
  2. I vote for throwing at Harper instead of Lind. No reason necessary. No explanation needed.
  3. Awesome post. I hate to be the Devil's advocate always, but I feel that Jesus Aguilar's odds are too high. I'm thinking 10,000,000 to 1. Carry on.
  4. I think the title of this thread should be changed to "Blazek Throwing BP"
  5. I'll be happy if the Brewers can get 2 hits off Scherzer, let alone runs.
  6. Max Scherzer has batted twice in this inning and hasn't made an out. lol
  7. I'll take it. Sounds like fun. Way more fun then finishing a couple games in back of the Division and Wild Card, NOT being Sellers, and NOT getting a high draft pick anyway.
  8. It would at least be nice to win another Wild Card Championship. Again, just sayin'...
  9. I was fortunate enough to be at the 1982 Milwaukee Brewers Reunion ceremony before the game against the Phillies on Saturday July 15th. Seeing Bob Uecker and Bud Selig on the field together was especially awesome because Baseball in Milwaukee would not be the same without these guys (or even exist!). It got me thinking about 2 things: 1. Bob and Bud are both 82 years old. I REALLY, REALLY hope the Brewers can bring the City of Milwaukee a World Series Championship before either of these great Milwaukeee legends passes on. 2. As the 1982 Brewers ceremony was taking place, it got me to thinking..... WAS THERE A SINGLE PLAYER ON THE 2017 BREWERS or PHILLIES 25-MAN ROSTER FOR THAT NIGHTS GAME THAT WAS EVEN ALIVE WHEN THE 1982 WORLD SERIES WAS BEING PLAYED?
  10. I guess the Yankees can just throw their next World Series banner on the pile, while the Brewers celebrate their 1982 World Series LOSS for the forseeable future and hang WILD CARD CHAMPION BANNERS at Miller Park. Fun.
  11. I think the Brewers could easily beat this deal without Brinson, Hader or Burnes. Look like Nationals are out on the Gray sweepstakes. If the Mariners or Brewers don't beat this package with a weak headliner, then I guess the Yankees win again.
  12. With the Brewers unexpected success this year, it will make it that much more difficult to land a "generational" talent in next years draft as well since we won't be picking near the top of the 1st round. It's hard to win a World Series without a franchise player, either hitting in the middle of your lineup or being an elite ACE to anchor the starting rotation. The Nationals are succeeding now because their "Rebuild" had them finishing dead last in the league multiple seasons, allowing them to draft "generational" talents like Harper and Correa. Of course it can be done without a "generational" or franchise player, but it will be that much more difficult, IMO.
  13. You missed the rumor that Brinson had to settle for an aisle seat. lol Also, he's currently somewhere over the Bermunda Triangle. Stay tuned.
  14. I still don't think Justin Verlander is coming to Milwaukee. Although I'd rather have him than Justin Wilson paired with Kinsler if a deal is really in the works.
  15. And ironically with the Yankees he would be their number three starter. LOL...agree to disagree. I'd take Sonny's talent over either Tanaka or Severino actually.
  16. Thought this was interesting: Joseph C's surplus values on proposal that started this thread FYI RHP Sonny Gray $42M Surplus Value OF Corey Ray $22.042M Surplus Value OF Trent Clark $10.7M Surplus Value MI Maurcio Dubon $10.7M Surplus Value RHP Marcos Diplan $7.49M Surplus Value Brewers Package Total= $50.932 By these estimates, the proposal could be considered a slight overpay, however, I think the Brewers would need to do that if they are having a potential weaker headliner to the trade (Corey Ray) vs. a better one that they would want to give up or one another bidding club would offer.
  17. Yeah man. You've posted your opinion about Gray as many times as I have mine. That's what the forums are here for. Opinions. None are right or wrong but yours are just as "condescending" and old even if you don't think so. According to JosephC's awesome surplus value estimates a few posts up, a $13M surplus valued player would likely needed to be added to Phillips, Ortiz to land Sonny. You shouldn't lose any sleep though, I'm sure an great organization like the Yankees will land Gray anyway.
  18. Not sure that we should want to though. Even that is a hefty price to pay for a number 3 starter. If he can stay healthy, there is almost zero doubt in my mind that by this time next year Gray will be considered a bonafide ACE throughout baseball. I'm not sure what "Number 3 Starters" finish in the Top 3 of voting for CY YOUNG AWARDS at a very young age.
  19. Why on Earth would the the Detroit Tigers do this? To save $11M? Wishful thinking.
  20. Phillips, Ortiz and a top 10-15 range prospect could likely beat any Yankee offer for Sonny.
