  1. Sure. Not good. Very insightful. Thank you fellas. Lol I also like LHP Tyler Alexander from the Tigers. Perhaps he could be included.
  2. I will go on record saying that I DON'T think Braun will be traded. With Attanasio's comments in mind about receiving premium talent, I don't think the Brewers will get an offer with the return they were hoping for and simply decide to keep Braun.
  3. The Tigers seem like they will go ALL in this year if they are in contention in the wide-open AL Central. Proposal Tigers get: C Jonathan Lucroy Brewers get: LHP Daniel Norris OF Steven Moya C James McCann or Salty I know the Tigers just landed Norris last trade deadline, but with the emergence of Michael Fulmer, I think Norris could be had. Maybe throw in a reliever to get it done (besides Smith or Jeffress). Thoughts?
  4. That haul from the Dodgers is wishful thinking, but there's no way they give up 3 pitching prospects of that caliber (Alvarez, De Leon, and Buehler), even with Will Smith included in the deal. I think if you add in Smith, we may be able to get De Leon and Buehler, along with a couple of other next tier pieces, like Bellinger or Hanson. I'd also be interested in 2B Will Calhoun. However, my guess is that the Dodgers would also want to include one of their catchers in the deal (Grandal or Barnes), thus taking out a prospect or two. I am hopeful that a market for Lucroy will develop, but it's hard to see a realistic match at this point. With that said, it would be a shock if Lucroy is still a Brewers past the end of this July (trade deadline). I'm still hoping the Rangers come around and get in on the bidding for Luc, as I like their prospects.
  5. I don't think it's realistic that the Red Sox even give up one of 3B Rafael Devers or RHP Anderson Espinosa in a deal for 1 1/2 years of Lucroy, let alone BOTH+. I also think that RHP Lucas Giolito is 100% untouchable via trade with the Nationals as well. I think the Rangers, Dodgers, or Rays match up well with us for trade partners. Lucroy for RHP Luis Ortiz, OF Lewis Brinson (Rangers) or RHP Jose De Leon, OF/1B Cody Bellinger (Dodgers) or RHP Brent Honeywell, 1B Casey Gillaspie (Rays) I think a third, lower level piece could be added to these deals as well, but I would be happy to land two-blue chip prospects for Lucroy at this point. Which of these 3 hypothetical deals do Brewer fans find most attractive?
  6. Latest? 1. Phillies- OF Micky Moniak 2. Reds- LHP AJ Puk (or 3B Nick Senzel) 3. Braves- RHP Ian Anderson (or OF Kyle Lewis) 4. Rockies- RHP Riley Pint 5. Brewers- ?????? I get the feeling that the Reds will change it up and end up going with Puk, which leaves the Brewers board even more in disarray.... I think with Pint AND Puk being gone, along with Perez and Groome having question marks now that make them umcomfortable top 5 choices, it leaves the Brewers brass choosing between Ray or Rutherford. Maybe the Brewers throw a complete change up and go with RHP Dakota Hudson? This is crazy.
  7. I love Corey Ray but from the Brewers franchise prospective it's SO much easier to find an OF (later in the draft, free agency, via trade, etc), than it is to find a Top-of-the-Rotation arm. I'm really still hoping Brewers go with Puk, Pint or Groome over ANY of the available bats in the first round this year. Here's a list of current OF prospects in Brewers org, not in majors yet: 1. Of Brett Phillips 2. OF Trent Clark 3. OF Demi Orimoloye 4. OF Monte Harrison 5. OF Tyrone Taylor 6. OF Michael Reed 7. OF Clint Coulter 8. OF Victor Roche 9. OF Rymer Liriano 10. OF Keon Broxton 11. OF Kyle Wren 12. OF Troy Stokes Since the Brewers went with Trent Clark over the likes of Brady Aiken last year, I hope they don't make the same mistake again. Besides, as the old saying goes, you can NEVER have enough pitching!!!!
  8. I wasn't sure they'd even have a shot at Puk or Lewis a few weeks ago. To me it's down to those two in this scenario and then I'd select Puk. My guess is that the Braves are still 50/50 on whether to take Lewis or Anderson. However, given the choice between Puk and Groome, I'm still on the fence, personally. Puk is safer and closer to the majors, but I feel that Groome has a bit of a higher upside. Tough call.
  9. Up to date mock based off rumors... 1. Phillies- OF Micky Moniak 2. Reds- 3B Nick Senzel 3. Braves- RHP Ian Anderson 4. Rockies- RHP Riley Pint 5. Brewers- ?????? They would have their choice of LHP AJ Puk, LHP Jason Groome, OF Kyle Lewis, OF Corey Ray, SS Delvin Perez or OF Blake Rutherford. Who do YOU pick in this scenario?
  10. Brewers day 1 draft picks, FYI #5 First Rounder #46 Second Rounder #75 Compensation B
  11. Callis and Mayo's latest mock pretty much throws all previous mocks out the window! This should make tonight VERY interesting as they seem to be the most well connected with what teams are actually thinking. Seems like teams at the top are now focusing on bats. The Perez failed drug test just throws a huge Monkey wrench into the Brewers (and others) draft boards. I'd be leary of taking Collins at #5 overall, as I consider him a poor man's Kyle Schwarber and seems like a Jack Z type of pick. Rutherford has a higher ceiling than the rumored new #1 overall pick Moniak, IMHO, so I wouldn't be against the pick, especially if they can sign him a bit underslot and increase the potential talent of their 2nd round pick. Would be interesting to see him go higher than Lewis, however. I have a gut feeling that high school RHP Ian Anderson could end up the best of Puk, Groome, Pint, so I hope he's at least near the top of the Brewers draft board. Here's my total guess at the final internal Brewers draft board: 1. OF Blake Rutherford 2. RHP Riley Pint 3. LHP Jason Groome (fallen behind Pint because of signibility concerns) 4. OF Corey Ray 5. C/1B Zac Collins 6. SS Delvin Perez (fell from #1 on their board due to failed drug test) 7. OF Kyle Lewis 8. RHP Ian Anderson 9. LHP AJ Puk 10. RHP Dakota Hudson I left Moniak off, because I think if Phillies don't take him, it's a slam dunk Rockies will, meaning their is zero chance he's available at #5. I actually think the Brewers perfer Rutherford anyway, and I agree with that assessment. And although a high upside SP is more of a need for the Brewers, I believe they are sticking to "best player available", which tends to work out in the long run. My personal opinion is to grab Pint if available. He has a lower floor than others, but his ceiling is that of Justin Verlander.
  12. I don't think the Dodgers will be willing to move Yadiel Alvarez in any trade, as they view him in similar light to Urias, talent-wise. I think realistically if we could get 2 of these 3 players to headline a Lucroy deal, we'd be doing very well for ourselves. RHP Grant Holmes RHP Walker Buehler 1B/OF Cody Bellinger I do agree that Dodgers could be a great trade partner, but I also feel that they value both Grandal and Austin Barnes who are both already in their organization. I think that may give them some pause when considering trading so much talent for Luc.
  13. Rumor has it that Sterns has checked in on LHP Jason Groome, RHP Riley Pint and C/1B Zack Collins.
  14. Does anyone know which other MLB teams besides the Brewers are "blacked out" on the MLB.TV Premium subscription? Before I join I'd like to know if other teams are consider part of the Milwaukee TV market, like the Cubs and White Sox for example. A friend of mine lives in Vegas and says that all the California teams games are blacked out because they are considered part of the Vegas TV market. Thanks
  15. While there is some risk involved in keeping Lucroy the next two seasons and offering him a QO, I don't think it's a terrible backup plan. It gives the Brewers some nice leverage if teams are not willing to give what we are looking for via trade. With that said, I DO see the Brewers moving him between now and Opening Day 2017.
  16. Scott Bartell has reported that Rangers starting catcher Robinson Chirinos fractured his forearm in the game tonight... ...get on the horn Mr. Stearns.
  17. Jonatahn Villar will be starting SS, Aaron Hill will be starting 3B and Broxton will lead off. Lucroy will still be with Brewers on Opening Day. My lineup guess: CF Keon Broxton 2B Scooter Gennett LF Ryan Braun C Jonathan Lucroy 1B Chris Carter RF Dominga Santana 3B Aaron Hill SS Jonathan Villar
  18. 1. Orlando Arcia SS 2. Demi Orimoloye OF 3. Gilbert Lara 3B 4. Jacob Nottingham C 5. Brett Phillips OF 6. Nathan Kirby LHP 7. Kodi Medeiros LHP 8. Josh Hader LHP 9. Isan Diaz 2B 10. Trent Clark OF 11. Jorge Lopez RHP 12. Clint Coulter OF/1B 13. Jacob Gatewood 3B 14. Monte Harrison OF 15. Zach Davies RHP 16. Cody Ponce RHP 17. Devin Williams RHP 18. Marcos Diplan RHP 19. Tyrone Taylor OF 20. Keon Broxton OF 21. Garin Cecchini 3B 22. Michael Reed OF 23. Bubba Derby RHP 24. Taylor Williams RHP 25. Yadiel Rivera SS 26. Rymer Lirano OF 27. Miguel Diaz RHP 28. Victor Roache OF 29. Javier Betancourt 2B 30. Jacob Barnes RHP 31. Adrian Houser RHP 32. David Goforth RHP 33. Colin Walsh 2B 34. Yanathan Barrios RHP 35. Josmil Pinto C 36. David Denson 1B 37. Trey Supak RHP 38. Tucker Neuhaus 2B 39. Dustin DeMuth 3B 40. Kyle Wren OF 41. Sean Nolin LHP 42. Freddy Peralta RHP 43. Damien Magnifico 44. Jed Bradley LHP 45. Tyrone Perry 1B 46. Hobbs Johnson RHP 47. Manny Pina C 48. Nate Orf 2B 49. Nash Walters RHP 50. Tim Dillard RHP (for broadcast booth!)
  19. Great write up! I agree with most all of your assessments so far. It should also be noted that Zach Davies is having himself a nice little spring so far and is a near lock for our 6th starter/first rotation call-up from AAA. Kind of a shame he can't get MLB experience from the get-go (stupid Garza!) but I'm confident that he should still log 100+ MLB innings this year somehow(injury, ineffectiveness, trade, etc.) Also of note, Wily Peralta looks like he is throwing batting practice to opposing teams out there! Hoping we can package him in a Lucroy trade somehow to increase our return get something for him while he still has his current value.
  20. If we do trade Lucroy to the Cubs, the one guy I'd target is RHP Dylan Cease. He strikes me as having the upside of a potential future ace. He's no safe bet but I'd target him as a secondary piece in a deal involving Lucroy. C Jonathan Lucroy for 3B/2B Javier Baez RHP Dylan Cease or maybe if they won't part with Baez something like... C Jonathan Lucroy for RHP Dylan Cease 2B/OF Arismendy Alcantara 3B Jeimer Candelario or 1B Dan Vogelbach Cubs have a lot of guys near MLB ready who are blocked so I can see them being very busy at this year's trade deadline or before. Alcantara strikes me as a good buy low candidate, as I can see him having a nice little career as a switch hitting 2B or CF.
  21. I like the Rays as a trade partner for Lucroy. However, I prefer Brent Honeywell as the headliner to the deal over Blake Snell, as I think he will be better in the long term. Proposal: C Jonathan Lucroy for 3 future pieces #1 RHP Brent Honeywell #2 1B Jake Bauers or 1B Casey Gillaspie #3 3B/SS Daniel Robertson or 3B/1B Richie Shaffer or RHP Jacob Faria or RHP Cameron Varga We match up well if we can find a top of the rotation arm and a couple of CI prospects. With Shaffer, Gillaspie, Bauers and Robertson, the Rays could even afford to give up two of these type players in a trade. If we could interest the Rangers, I'd be happy with two players: 3B/OF Joey Gallo RHP Luis Ortiz They are considering extending Beltre at 3B, so I could see Gallo finally expendable.
