  1. Josh Harrison would be like adding another Hernan Perez. There’s already quantity at 2B-just go get a quality 2B. Someone who’d actually be an upgrade to the current roster (ie: not Harrison)
  2. I think he's fine with Saladino, Perez, and Spangenberg if they're confident Hiura and/or Dubon are going to be up by May. It's honestly not a terrible idea even if it isn't what I am advocating for. April- Saldino, Perez, Spangenberg combo (Saldino and Spangenberg both have an option remaining so they can and probably will be optioned at some point) May onward- Hiura (or maybe Dubon) They always have the trade deadline as insurance if they need to add a veteran at second base. ***I'd only advocate for this plan if they're going to spend money on Grandal or a high quality reliever 100%agree-it’s be ok to cheap out at 2B if: 1-it’s only until prospect control is delayed a year, and 2-that $ saved goes to help other spots
  3. I think that’s because the greater focus was on quality options
  4. Lowrie should get st least this also now
  5. Exactly. Assuming Hiura comes up in 2019 and produces, Lowrie could play 3B vs LHP, Shaw ornlowrie could play some 1B if Aguilar isn’t producing, or Lowrie could rotate to rest everyone (Lowries old, Aguilar is fat, and Huiras never played a full mlb season). Plus, some random injury could happen or Hiura could struggle in AAA.
  6. Or they could’ve just kept Jennings or cedeno and also kept the draft pick
  7. Gordon is arguably falling off from being an MLB-caliber player. He couldn't crack a .700 OPS last year against RHP even though that's his better matchup as noted. So you're basically signing Haniger to a 4 year, $50-60 million dollar deal (pending what Haniger gets in arby) and getting a replacement-level 2B/OF along with him that you are forced to put in the lineup. I get the idea but we aren't the team for that right now. Not with our surplus of OF already. Not everyone has to be this huge ops guy. There is something to be said for simply getting on base. Obviously you need some boopers. Not saying Gordon is the right fit but if he gets on base who cares if they are all singles. Need those people. Gordon doesn’t get on base. If you’re weak and fast, take a walk good god. He’s be valuable if he did get on base
  8. Peralta for Aguilar with Braun moving to 1B?
  9. CC would die before allowing Perez to get fewer than 300 ABs
  10. It’s very tempting, but it’s gotta be Peralta/Nottingham+ IMO. Otherwise the gain there isn’t worth it. With the dodgers, Astros, Red Sox, and others in, the price will likely get too high
  11. I doubt it, but maybe the Braves would be interested in moving camargo. He’d be a good 2B/transition to platoon with Shaw/insurance for Arcia hitting like trash again
  12. A Dietrich/Perez platoon would be good at 2B until Huiras ready
  13. No they wouldn’t. It’s be perfect if they just wanted all the Brewers unneeded surplus players but when I think about what I’d demand as Marlins GM, it'd be Hiura plus one of the top young pitchers
  14. Aaron hicks isn’t a good player? Or Clint Frazier? Also Andujars awful defensively and may have to move to 1B/DH. If lus yes, if didis hurt next year it opens up IF time
  15. Yeah the only way to keep CC from overplaying Perez is to get rid of him. It’s like when a kid just can’t use a knife yet and ends up doing more harm than good. Perez can be useful, but he’s overused. However, I wouldn’t see Gonzalez as a replacement for Perez until Huiras ready. Gonzslez would make a good super sub but would immediately be the everyday 2B until Huira can be. CC just needs to learn Perez only plays vs LHP until then (hopefully later in 2019)
  16. Good news for a team looking for a 2B
  17. It really wasn't Michael Jackson grabbing HIS crotch that was the problem.
  18. Stearns must: -Let moose decline his option -get rid of scoop -get an actual 2B-id like lowrie batting and playing second -let Santana split time with Braun (Yelich going between corners) -trade Anderson or Davies to replenish system and $ to pick up a middle reliever
  19. His skillset certainly profiles as the exact type of hitter they need at the top of the order. A table setter who is going to hit over .300, steal bases, work counts and minimize strikeouts. His results in the Arizona Fall League are certainly encouraging. I doubt he'll begin the year in Milwaukee (that's a really big jump, and he is still very young and doesn't have a lot of experience). I hope he is over the elbow injury concern as well. They will need to determine soon what his ETA is, because if they feel he isn't going to be ready, they need to acquire a 2B who profiles as a table setter. They just have too many Schoop types already in the lineup for that to work. Indeed. Let Moose and Schoop go and sign Lowrie
  20. Yeah he was awesome. Let’s get his $200M extension ready. good, fact-based rebuttal! What facts do you want? He has been a complete mess at the plate. Is that really something you are debating? He has a 680 postseason OPS. Now it is proven
  21. Yes, when he gets the MVP trophy they should take it away. Only a .441 OBP in the playoffs? How dare he nearly match the OBP that arguably the two greatest hitters in the history of the game (Bonds and Williams) achieved consistently. Yeah he was awesome. Let’s get his $200M extension ready. good, fact-based rebuttal!
  22. That's baloney. The patchwork rotation worked, again. They stopped scoring. I knew this would be the annoying hot take of the talking heads. Their staff strategy worked all year and worked again. True, but having a good rotation, like the Dodgers do, has worked better. The Brewers don’t have Kershaw.maybe they wouldn’t be bullpening if they did
  23. AMEN!!!! The post season has been FAR MORE FUN without the Cubs trying to rain on our parade. But think of how glorious sweeping the cubs in the playoffs would feel
  24. I’m suprised his framing method of just moving it 6 inches towards the middle of the plate like a high school catcher could ever work
