  1. You’re right about fielder. That was my point and I should’ve put that in blue.
  2. Pretty sure they have a poor Sunday record because CC uses Sundays as a day off for starters all the time. Jesus (ironically) had a streak of not starting like 3 sundays in a row. It was because he’s a big guy and big guys need days off (like a prince Fielder). He has a compulsion to play some bad players like Sogard and Perez and a day game after night game or often a getaway day is all the justification he needs in his mind to insert bad players
  3. FINALLY!!! I shouldn't be this excited that CC finally learned to stagger LH and RH hitters, but better late than never I guess. It only took most of the year to do something anyone should be able to figure out
  4. I don’t see what’s so exciting about Gausman. He just isn’t that good
  5. Wellington Castillo was suspended in June I believe. Don't think he's eligible to return until September. And Giants just said they are not moving MadBum. Period. They probably aren’t, but them saying anything doesn’t matter. It’s called GM speak. I can say I’m Mr Rogers- but nope, no cardigans on me
  6. Wellington Castillo was suspended in June I believe. Don't think he's eligible to return until September. August 24 according to his BBREF Page - no postseason though
  7. Get a more reasonable catcher for a moderate (not Realmuto sized) price: chirinos , AJ Ellis, Plawecki, Nick Hundley, Wellington Castillo/ Wilson Ramos in August. Spend the resources for a rotation upgrade, not another “meh” guy. Mad Bum would be my choice
  8. I like your lineup but there’s no way CC can resist his need to play Perez. He’ll be in there somewhere
  9. I don't know that this is a problem. Villar is hitting over .300 against LHP. Shaw shouldn't be playing against lefties right now and Moustakas doesn't exactly have earth shattering numbers against them either. Against LHP Cain (CF) Yelich (LF) Braun (1B) Aguilar (3B) Santana (RF) <--- come September Villar (2B) Pina © Arcia (SS) Against RHP Cain (CF) Yelich (RF) Moustakas (3B) Shaw (2B) Braun (LF) Thames (1B) Pina © Arcia (SS) That leaves you a crazy good/balanced bench on either day with (against LH): Moustakas, Shaw, Thames, Saladino or Perez, Kratz or (Against RH): Aguilar, Santana, Villar, Saladino or Perez, Kratz Those are both very good offensive lineups with one defensive question mark (Aguilar at 3rd and Shaw at 2nd) ... yeah Aguilar hasn’t shown enough to start vs RHP
  10. My biggest dissappointment in his trade: I saw Perez was involved and it wasn’t Hernán
  11. It's better than his suggestion of putting Ryan Cordell there. !!!
  12. Why in the world are you convinced Castro could play SS? Is it because he was bad when he was a SS, or that he hasn’t played here in years?
  13. Omar Navaez doesn’t have great defensive metrics but has been decent hitting (not for power though) and decent throwing out runners
  14. Well when your options are bad or bad with potential, just go with bad-for some reason
  15. I give up Hiura for Realmuto. Obviously Hiura is a fantastic prospect, we all know that. But that being said there is no 100% guarantee he is a stud at the ML level. There have been plenty of "can't miss" guys who did indeed miss. Realmuto has a ML track record, we know what he is. He is one of the top catchers in the league and we have a gaping black hole at C. In your scenario of Realmuto and Castro, I'd offer Hiura, Ortiz, Nottingham, Gatewood and Bickford. I'd like to keep Ray as he seems to be putting it together finally but if he absolutely has to be part of the deal, then so be it. Then pass on Realmuto for me. No way I give up that package. There are other potential upgrades at catcher that wouldn't cost nearly as much. I'd also be much more inclined to giving Nottingham a whole bunch of playing time the next two weeks to see what we have. But CC won’t play Nottingham even more than Kratz. And who are these available catching upgrades? Chironos? Sal Perez? Not nearly Realmuto
  16. I can't ever see that happening while Perez is still on the 25 man roster and Counsell is managing. Brewers have Cain, Yelich, Broxton, Santana, Phillips all healthy and on the 40 man roster and Perez is still getting outfield starts. Perez was getting outfield starts back when Braun was healthy. I think just about everybody thought that with the big outfield logjam that Perez (and Thames) wouldn't be seeing any time in the outfield this year, and yet Perez has started in the outfield a bunch of times. We just have to accept the following as Brewer fans: Craig Counsell just doesn't see Perez's career .255/.283/.388/.671 bat as being any type of significant negative. As long as Perez is on the 25 man roster, and Craig Counsell is managing the ballclub, Perez is probably going to get ~80 starts a year and a bunch of those are going to come at a corner outfield spot. It is gross and infuriating. I’m annoyed by his crappy backup IF fetish
  17. Some of those below average guys have s lot of at bats too. That’s why if they go big and get Machado, it would help to get someone like Wilson Ramos, because decent C production would be soooo much better than what they’ve had
  18. I don’t get why Kratz and Nottingham have to literally alternate. Both played yesterday, so why not go with the younger guy, who cannot do any worse either?
  19. I don’t get it, Villar has been playing well when given opportunities CC MUST have Perez in the line-up. He can't help himself. plus, Perez has earned this amount of playing time. And hits RHP way better than Miller
  20. hey he’s already pitched twice this month he needs his rest
  21. 35 pitches on Monday. Off limits till today. I mean, they have done this all year regarding Hader's usage. You may not like it. I don't like it. But it is what it is, and they are sticking to it. What are the facts here. He is an all star on the best team in the NL. He is widely considered one of the more dominant relievers in the game at the moment. That is pretty compelling evidence that they are using him correctly. I'd bet a large sum of money they also have a plethora of statistical data to back up that usage. Anyone can disagree but I'm going with CC and staff on this one over a bunch of internet armchair QB's (myself included). By that logic no front office or manager should ever be criticized by fans/ armchair QBs. Being professionals does not = never wrong
  22. Yeah the Brewers list but Hader got another day off after pitching like once in the last week, which is clearly more important than winning
  23. Good lord. All-star break approaching, he just got back from the DL, and he isn’t exactly a catcher. Stupid Well, it isn't like Cain is going to get a "break" during the All Star Break. Plus, 7 games in 6 days before the break. Only a few exhibition innings. No derby. =break
