  1. I knew they wouldn’t, but I thought the exact same thing to stagger the Lineup
  2. well done, it is ARam I don’t do igts because I DVR games but these questions are really good. Well done. It makes me miss that temporary show hosted by Matt V on MLB network-Baseball IQ
  3. Thames is fragile (physically and mentally). Aguilar is also hitting well this year. There aren’t days off for rest coming up. Mostly-there’s a LHP for MIA
  4. If you think it’s pointless feel free to maybe....not join in then. But an OPS+ of 85 is acceptable you’re right, but not with bad defense also. Be good at something at least. If you’re literally not good at anything, then the team should look sometime to try something different
  5. It is 85 and should be even higher with the walk he should've earned yesterday. You are correct since his day yesterday helped it. But 85 is still plenty below average
  6. On the current roster he definitely should be (although CC cannot resist your playing Sogard and Perez somewhere) but a 79 OPS+ with his defense is not playing well
  7. The problem is that means they will go April, May, and June (also probably a lot of July) with poor 2B production. We act as if we are the only team with possible holes on our team. Every team battles it somewhere. Second base MIGHT be that place by July but it might not be as well. Sometimes you have to let players prove one way or another. They have sunk about $7-8 million in the second base position already with Villar-Perez-Sogard so it probably was in Stearns best interest to let the dust settle there before making a move. You may be correct and that definitely seems to be what they’re doing, but it’s also possible that 2017 and the beginning of 2018 have already settled that
  8. The problem is that means they will go April, May, and June (also probably a lot of July) with poor 2B production.
  9. I have to agree with this. Even after today his OBP is low, he's not hitting for power and his defense has been uneven at best. I'm rooting for his success. But his resurgence has been way, way overstated. An OPS+ of 79 with a bunch of errors being spun a a resurgence just tells you how bad Villar was last year
  10. Yeah this is ridiculous. I’m getting more and more annoyed with Coles and CC, and already gave up on Sedar long ago
  11. If he can pinch hit each of the last 2 games, suck it up in LF until Yelich is back. I’d imagine the thought of Hernan perez playing there instead would hurt more than anything else
  12. Fixed it! Agreed. Bandy is just a body to hold down the position if needed.
  13. this just in-tracis Shaw sneezed a couple times on the dugout and will be “unavailable” today. Counsell said he wants him back to full breathing before playing him so he will probably sit for 5-6 days but not go on the dl
  14. They should’ve just done this (assuming they DL Pina) right away instead of playing with a short Bench and having to watch Bandy so many consecutive days.
  15. I think they’re also overly cautious. With the depth and ability to rotate days off, they should be able to play through small injuries because they can get a day off soon
  16. As someone who played baseball at UW-Superior where 40 degrees is balmy for a spring game, I’d agree. I never saw a player for us wearing the face masks either.
  17. When someone’s on the DL, the other guys need to play kore, even through a couple small injuries. Especially since they can disperse the rest when the DLd player gets back. Get Braun in today then rest him tomorrow if Yelich returns. If he can’t by tomorrow, DL Braun for Phillips/Broxton. The point of depth was not to have a wasted OF slot to guys like Perez That’s why it was a waste for like 24 posters to put their personal breakdown of playing time between 1B/OF- you knew there’d be days with other guys in there
  18. Who should lead off? I know-the guy who refuses to walk!
  19. There is absolutely no way Phillips wouldn’t be more helpful today than Drake, who is both unavailable likely and bad definitely. Good god this roster construction is getting as bad as the bullpen usage
  20. who cares how many runs he gives up, look at that K/BB rate!
  21. The lineup threw off my whole schedule-looking at that, I was sure it was Sunday
  22. Exactly my thought. With this putrid lineup I’d rather have Aguilar in there and stick Thames in LF until a double switch presents itself. CC also made it easy to bring in matchup relievers with a non-staggered lineup.
  23. https://www.mlb.com/brewers/news/lorenzo-cain-injured-exits-game-vs-cardinals/c-271563360 I think Santana saw some CF time with the Brewers in 2016, but yeah, you don't want him out there unless it's a last resort. There’s no way that report is accurate. If Cain misses enough time to be on the DL, Phillips would stay up and play CF, with Yelich playing there upon his return shortly
  24. No Schroeder and BA? How will I know that a defensive sub was to “tighten up defensively” or that when “pitcher ________is right he gets a lot of ground balls,”?
  25. The time to address the issue was in the off-season, when players like Walker and Howie Kendrick were signing for cheap
