    Can't wait to sit back and watch Stearns work his magic. Feels great not to have to scrutinize every move our FO makes. He will swing and miss for sure, but I guarantee he keeps moving the franchise in the right direction this summer.

    Stick to the plan. Gray is not helping us anywhere past the wild card. I wouldn't be willing to part with quality prospects that can be used on a true TOR guy next year or the year after, when we are more likely to compete.

    Agreed with all of this. But with how small our payroll is, why not try to package Verlander with a reliever like Wilson, agree to take on a lot of Verlander's salary, and thus lessen the quality of prospects needed to get the deal done. That way we add a potentially great SP, a very good reliever, and keep our farm system intact.

    I get it, Broxton is a streaky hitter, but there is really no excuse for how bad he's been lately. It's too bad Brinson didn't light it up while he was up here so we didn't have to worry about Broxton being our everyday center.

    I'm very prone to overreactions.......but that was one of if not the best play from a brewers shortstop i've ever seen.

    He just hit another one against the Reds. @AdamMcCalvy Eric Thames has more home runs in six games against the Reds -- eight -- than any other hitter in MLB has home runs, period.

    That's because you only hear about the ones that don't fail. One example of a recent "can't miss IP" that fell totally on his face stateside is Gustavo Cabrera for the Giants. We can't afford to miss on these guys if we go over budget because of the tax implications, and being a small market team. Frustrating to say the least, but life isn't fair. You say "being a small market team" but in that same article it lists as favorites to sign Robert: A's, Cardinals, Padres and Reds. Not exactly the NYs or Bostons of the league... At some point we are going to have to take advantage of or next to nothing payroll and gamble. The play it safe stuff isnt going to win us a championship (not saying we MUST sign Robert, but more generally).

    Could not agree more. So much happier with Brinson and Ortiz than Gallo alone. Our OF will be outrageous in 2 years....

    Very, very happy with this deal as I, along with many others, werent sold on Gallo. We just upgraded our farm to top 5 systems in the game.

    What makes you say this? Could not be farther from the truth. Did you even see our trade for lucroy to cleveland? We just got the #21 overall and #60 overall prospects (2 and 3 in Texas Farm) for lucroy and jeffress. We werent gonna get anything close to this for lucroy alone

    People were down on Gallo before the prospects came out and now that we arent getting him but their 2 and 3 prospects isntead people are upset? I couldnt be happier
