  1. Alden Gonzalez @Alden_Gonzalez SP Hyun-Jin Ryu is expected to accept the qualifying offer, but C Yasmani Grandal will not, source confirms. Dodgers will look for a new, short-term catcher to buy time before their promising prospects are ready. And they will have a ton of starting pitching coming back.
  2. Yes at this point it just seems highly unlikely that we trade for him - since Braves can easily match/beat any of our offers. Which, since it appears that we would definitely be giving up Burnes or Hiura, is fine by me.
  3. I would be surprised if he wasn’t top 15. I'd say guaranteed top 15, and potentially in the single digits.
  4. There is just a 0% chance that Stearns would make that trade, considering what we all know he values in his players. Which is why I don't think we end up with Realmuto, because I agree that Marlins will be holding out for a massive haul similar to what you proposed.
  5. No way am I trading Hiura for Realmuto since we need that bat at 2b so badly, and JT only has 2 years left. One of Peralta/Woodruff + Ray and Nottingham would be enticing. However, from what has been reported, seems like Miami is Top 30 prospect or bust.
  6. The reward is another chance to win a game to go to the World Series. Brewers fans are babies. "We might lose, so there isn't excitement." Are you all kidding me? I get the tension, it'll suck if they lose, but to say people aren't excited is crazy talk to me. If the Brewers can get a few early runs (and yes, I realize this is a big IF with this offense the way they're swinging it), then there will be plenty of excitement. You're preaching to the choir. People on this forum aren't saying that about themselves, they are saying that about the casual fan - and its true.
  7. Offense looks completely lost. Was very hopeful going into yesterdays game. Not anymore.
  8. It was definitely not a catch, as evidenced by the call on the field and the review. We get it dude, you think were gonna lose. No need to be negative all the time.
  9. Could be worse
  10. Did someone say NL Central Champions with home field throughout the playoffs?
  11. Truly one of the best days of my life. That is all.
  12. Any team in a one game playoff is scary...not, "Kershaw...making my death bed scary" but scary. It is such a crapshoot. Even a 5-7 game series is woefully random. I get not wanting to face Kershaw, but lets not forget that he has been very average in playoff games.
  13. I really hope this was sarcasm.
  14. I would give up Hiura for a legit TOR pitcher and a TOR pitcher only. I don't think Archer is TOR, though it seems like he is our most likely target.
  15. Yes it looks like Ray is finally hitting his stride, but almost everyone on this board would have made this trade before the season started. I think selling high on Ray right now would be a great move, especially if it lands us a (somewhat) controllable pitcher.
  16. I'd pretty easily say yes to a Hiura, Peralta + lottery tickets trade for Realmuto. Imagine the impact of switching out Pina for Realmuto in our lineup. That bat goes a loooong, long way. The problem is the Marlins will want more, and once we talk about adding a Burnes to that package, or even replacing Peralta with Burnes, it's just way too much for me. I just don't see a trade happening.
  17. Agreed. Kodi was looking more and more like a second coming of Hader, and likely to emerge as such in the 2019-2020 timeframe, and presented some very interesting options for the roster at that point (deal Hader and at least two years of control in the 2019 offseason for a haul, or have both to develop a Super Nasty Boys bullpen). This is the kind of deal I was afraid of seeing the Brewers make. A short-term rental - even with the option year - for a big piece of the farm. In return, at least get international bonus slots or some kind of low-level DSL lottery tickets for a few years down the road from the Sox, not just cash to cover the salary. Uh...what?
  18. This is a #fakenews account, by the way.
  19. This seems like a bit of an overreaction. It's really not that lopsided.
  20. Ah yes, the ol' "move your gold glove outfielder to 1st base to make room for questionable minor league talent" play. Love that one! Christian Yelich is not a gold glove OFer. His arm is a liability and while he can get to some balls he doesn’t have blazing quick speed to get to a lot of balls others can’t. That being said he is a solid defender with a great bat. I doubt we ever have a situation where it’s a good idea to put him at 1B. Well I mean, he is quite literally a gold glove outfielder as evidenced by his...gold glove award. I get what you're saying though, and agree for the most part.
  21. Dozier and Escobar have been pulled from the Twins game.
