  1. Urias bat needs to be HUGELY improved to play at 3rd
  2. Is it just me or are the proposals in this thread getting worse as time goes on
  3. I feel like 2B is an easier position to field compared to 3B I believe it is generally considered easier to field than 2B. That being said I wouldn't be very confident in Hiura improving much at a position he's never played before.
  4. Jon Heyman @JonHeyman Brewers are also in on Gregorius. Milwaukee has lost 14 players off its wild card team. Time to get to work. Not sure where another SS would fit on this team. His numbers would force him to play SS. Urias to 3b? Trade Urias? Trade Hiura to make room for Urias? Its all very confusing.
  5. Stras is getting paid the equivalent of a fortune 500 CEO salary. Would you say his skill set is more or less unique than a CEO's? Lmao what? No he's not, not even close. Average Fortune 500 CEO salary is $11 million.
  6. Yeah..I'd definitely consider 3/$75 mil but another year for a 34 year old is a deal breaker.
  7. Nice little reminder that we will certainly never be able to compete with the big boys re: FAs.
  8. Exactly. At least the Mets proposals for Mcneil and Smith are major league controllable pieces. If we trade Hader for a prospect they better be Lux/Robert level.
  9. RE: Kieboom proposal. We just got a more highly regarded prospect than Kieboom (despite Urias' slow MLB start), in addition to a LH SP, for Davies and Grisham. How could anyone look at the market and think Hader for Kieboom is even close is beyond me.
  10. Lmao no. I'm not interested in a prospect who is barely considered top 20 and is destined to play 2b, a position at which we now have 2 players under control for 5 years. We are trading the best RP in baseball with multiple years of control. Get out of here with that weak stuff espn. Oh and no need to address that Astros proposal - what a load of garbage.
  11. I'd bet we were one of the teams offering a 2 year deal. Too bad
  12. Highly unlikely we can, but I think getting Donaldson on a 2 year contract would be great for this org. Solid D, great bat, veteran. Good "cheaper"/shorter option to Rendon
  13. God this article is not good for my sanity
  14. I think the delay was Stearns waiting for Haudricourt to tweet something like the above and then promptly provide yet another reason for us to ridicule our "well-connected Brewers expert" beat writer... This guy is such a bum its unbelievable. Can't stand his snarky attitude about everything, that added to the fact that hes very rarely right makes for a bad combination.
  15. Wild. Gonna be very tough for our FO to compete for FA with the market like this.
  16. Solid pitcher, but very tough for a small market like Brewers to gamble on his track record. Fine with missing on him.
  17. Very interesting this comes out now that Stearns has traded for a guy who's best position is 2B.
  18. You're over-simplifying. It's not 1 now, you have Hader for up to 4 years. And trading one or two players now doesn't necessarily hinder you that much right now. Especially if they consider being light years ahead of everyone else in developing talent. What does it matter if they trade Verdugo, if they have surplus OF now and they can develop 2 more equally productive OF over the next couple years? Again, not saying give guys away just to give them away. There's quite a bit of logic in trading for Hader pending the price. The Pirates price was clearly too high for Vazquez, maybe we can strike the right balance that works for both teams with Hader. I'll over-simplify by saying Hader for Lux and Verdugo is way too high, but Hader for Ruiz is way too low. There's miles of space between those 2 values, maybe they can get it done and maybe not. For the record, I think Hader for Lux and Verdugo is WAY closer to reality than Andujar and Garcia, and I don't think its close.
  19. Insane amount of $/time, and to move him to full time 2b? Pass.
  20. This isn't even in the stratosphere of what it would take to get Hader
  21. I've stated on this forum that there is absolutely no way the Brewers end up trading Hader. Mostly because he is under control for so many years, and so good, that the package would have to be absolutely unbelievable for the Brewers to accept. I just don't think there are any teams willing to give up an equal amount of value for what Hader provides. That is not a bad thing, either. We should be more than happy to roll into the season with the best RP in baseball in our bullpen. In my mind, if Hader does end up getting traded, its because of what Brew4U said - the crew received an historic haul (a.k.a. not Mcneil and Smith).
  22. Not saying its going to happen. I actually don't think its going to happen. Just saying its viable.
