  1. Bingo! Many people don't have the time and/or desire to do any homework. And what exactly is optimal? Is it the same for everybody? Maybe the people just want to get more fit and feel healthier and not obsess over the minutia of optimal calorie intake and counting every gram of protein, etc. Some of that stuff is stressful for some people and takes the fun out of working out.
  2. Just a guess but since Rosiak also covers Marquette basketball and they are in the NCAA tournament; he will likely start with the Brewers at some point after they are eliminated.
  3. You sound like the snobs on bodybuilding.com. P90X is solid... it's not the best but for a very minimal investment, it's solid. If you worked me out 3 days a week for 3 years at even $50/hr, I'd be looking at an investment of well over $20k. For 20k, I better look like Adonis. P90X costs like $120 and requires a pullup bar and some dumbbells or bands. It also offers a simple workout and nutrition plan for people that don't want to spend countless hours developing and perfecting a plan through trial and error... not to mention spending tons of money on equipment, a club membership or a personal trainer. There is also the chance that people will start with P90X and move onto something more extensive when it gets too easy for them or they stop seeing changes. But even if they don't, they certainly aren't hurting themselves... and not everybody has goals of being a bodybuilder or fitness model. I've read thousands of articles over the years about fitness, nutrition, splits, etc. and have a pretty good understanding what works and what doesn't... but I admit that even I have times where I lose focus and get out of whack with my diet and/or nutrition and need to simplify again. If I get confused at times, people that have never worked out in their lives probably have no idea where to start. To dismiss it as a fad is just wrong.
  4. Regarding the option, there was no way he was staying on the Brewers all year anyway, he would have been sent down once Greinke came back.
  5. Injured players can't seem to win around here; Sheets and Gamel get/got criticized all the time for getting hurt because they aren't/weren't in shape. He could have hurt himself lifting, doing wind sprints, playing catch, etc. He plays basketball to stay in shape, it's not like he was out racing cars or motorcycles or jumping out of airplanes. The fact is, to get or stay in shape, you have to perform activities that can potentially cause injury.
  6. Thanks! I'll give some of those a try.
  7. I'm not normally a stout guy but I'll usually try something if it sounds good. I had an Oscar's Chocolate Oatmeal Stout (Sand Creek Brewery, River Falls WI) the other night and enjoyed it enough that I had two more. Since I don't normally drink stouts, I'm not sure if their's is a good one... but I thought it was really good. Any feedback would be appreciated. And I'll have to try stouts more often.
  8. Huh... you must have gotten a bad one... they're normally delicious...
  9. Bingo! Before Kohl, the Bucks had the second highest franchise winning percentage, behind only Boston. I bet we're in the bottom 6 or 7 now. It's sad too, because I was a huge Bucks fan growing up and now I'm just a fair-weather bandwagon jumper.
  10. Got to like the fact that he'd be willing to give up his entire 27MM salary if he could just play Baseball and not have to put up with all the Fame and other nonsense. I call BS since that is actually possible. I know some Land O' Lakes and American Legions teams that would take him. They're lucky to get 30 fans at their games. If he gives me a million, I'll be happy to set him up.
  11. I know I've been too harsh on TH in the past, but I don't mind saying that his understated smear tactics on Gamel are really unprofessional.I guess I don't see any smear tactics; he asked him a legitimate question. It's a new role and not everyone will embrace it, especially a former "can't miss" prospect. When I read between the lines, I see a manager saying, "He hasn't said he embraces it, even though we've had some conversations. If I was an unproven prospect that can't play defense, I would do whatever I had to do to fight my way into the lineup." If the answer had been, "I've talked to Mat and he is willing to do whatever he has to do to help the team", would you still be critical of the TH? IMO, the problem is the answer, not the question.
  12. I'll be 43 in March and I can do 13 without cheating; full extension at the bottom and coming to a complete stop. I'm pretty proud of that.

  14. I voted once at work and once at home. Winning by a landslide. What other sites did you request help?
  15. dlk, you may need the picture to accompany the quote.
  16. Bucks dominated the Lakers down the stretch, turning a solid win into a blowout. Kobe got two T's and was ejected and the Lakers pretty much looked like a bunch of crybabies down the stretch.. Fun times.
  17. It looks like the Jersey t-shirts will be in by Wednesday. It doesn't say anything about the jerseys but I would think you get a custom one made. Not sure if you are looking for authentic or more of a replica. http://brewers.mlblogs.com/
  18. The Royals don't need corner guys, they were specifically targeting middle players. catcher, 2b, ss and cf.
  19. This pretty much takes all the fun out of reading the Transaction Rumors forum. What am I going to do until spring training starts?
  20. Agreed on the travelllng call. Maybe I don't watch enough NBA but I thought that was obvious. McGlocklin never said a word about it, so I thought maybe it was just me.
  21. I know this isn't an IGT but Sanders has a shot at a triple double. With 2:40 left in the 3rd, he has 14 pts, 9 rebs and 7 blocks. And Carmello just got ejected after Sanders just blocked another one of his shots.
  22. I thought this was going to be about moving Fielder to shortstop. :-)
  23. Niiice beaver... 12 posts and nobody used that one yet?!?!
