  1. After August 1 Wren will be up. I am sure they are waiting until after the deadline to make moves. Broxton and Flores have been busts.
  2. Let's see what Pinto or Piña can do. Maldonado is equally useless as the OFer's but always gets a "free pass." Hopefully just waiting on LuCroy to be dealt.
  3. Erceg will be a top 10 prospect next season. Gatewood is a first baseman. About time they made the move.
  4. If someone offers a pack of Ballpark Frank's for Garza he is down the road even if it costs most of his contract.
  5. Lots of free agent CF's in free agency. Might even get Gomez cheap on a one year deal as he tries to reestablish some value? Hopefully Santana has a good second half. Beside Braun the outfield is not good. I am more hopeful for Liriano and am tired of Flores.
  6. The trade deadline is well over two weeks away. I think Sterns is holding out for the best deals and is willing to go down to the wire. In a worse case scenario Jeffress, Smith and LuCroy get traded over the winter or are on next years roster. All are affordable in 2017 and make the team better. I for one am not looking forward to seeing Martin Maldanado catch four times a week or watching Thornburg or Boyer close out a ball game. Let the bidding begin!
  7. Jeffers to the Mets starts with Wuilmer Bucerra (OF) or Brandon Nimmo (OF) and some young prospects. Talks with the Mariners start with Tyler O'Neil (OF) or DJ Peterson (1B/3B) and some young prospects. Jeffress is controlled and at a decent price (although, like a lot of Milwaukee closers he could implode at any time). I still think Seatlle could be LuCroy's landing spot in which Edwin Diaz, Nick Neidert, and Luis Gohara all are on the table along with O'Neil and Peterson.
  8. What can I say, I was bored. Hopefully there will be a lot of additions in the upcoming weeks. 1.) Orlando Arcia- I would like to see a long, hot streak. 2.) Josh Hader- Come on Milwaukee, give him a shot! 3.) Isan Diaz- Huge power numbers. 4.) Corey Ray- He is going to hit! 5.) Brett Phillips- Diaz and Hader flew by. 6.) Devin William- Great numbers, future #2 or #3. 7.) Trent Clark- Waiting for him to do some "special." 8.) Kodi Medeiros- Live arm, secondary pitches are improving. 9.) Jacob Nottingham- Showing what he truly is after a slow start. 10.) Marcos Diplan- I debated rating him higher. 11.) Gilbert Lara- Based on potential. 12.) Tyrone Taylor- See Lara. 13.) Cody Ponce- Healthy and ready to go. Future #2 or #3? 14.) Jacob Gatewood- Not as raw as he was a year ago. 15.) Nathan Kirby- The potential is there; get healthy for 2017. 16.) Lucas Erceg- Going to be a top 10 next season. Wish he was at Wisconsin now. 17.) Clint Coulter- Needs to be a second half star. 18.) Demi Orimoloye- Soley based on age and athleticisim. 19.) Jorge Lopez- Free him from Colorado! 20.) Freddy Peralta- Debated switch with Kirby. 21.) Miguel Diaz- Live arm. 22.) Wendell Rijo- Don't know anything about him. 23.) Michael Reed- Was hoping he'd earn a call up. 24.) Victor Roache- The power is still intriguing. 25.) Monte Harrison- See Demi O.
  9. The Cubs issue is they have no minor league pitching to give for major league pitching. With Contreras in MLB, either Candaleria (3B), Happ (2B/OF), Almora (OF) and McKinney (OF) straight up for Jeffers or Smith straight up could be a match.
  10. Any trade with Cleveland starts with Bradley Zimmer or Clint Frazier. Any trade with Texas starts with Lewis Brinson. Cleveland (RP) and Texas (any) both could use pitching. The amount of prospects will continue to rise depending on who Milwaukee wants to throw in. Cleveland: Bobbly Bradley (1B), Francisco Mejia © and Tristan Makenzie (P). Texas: Dillon Tate (P), Luis Ortiz (P) or Michael Mautella (P). I prefer more advanced prospects who area little closer than class A lottery tickets. Let the bidding begin!
  11. Three 5th outfielders in the starting line up today. Garza's suckiness won't matter because they are getting shut out.
  12. Please send Anderson down and bring up Hader after the All Star break. When the rosters expand in September Hader can be shut down.
  13. Rivera's bat does not play at 3B if Villar, Gennett, or Garcia are at 2B and SS. 3B, in my opinion, has to be a power position.
  14. If the Brewers can get a 5 to 10 prospect for Hill he should be traded immediately. Middlebrooks or Cecchini need to get a look. No Rivera, no Villar to 3B and Arcia up. A 1B or 3B prospect would be ideal. 1B Chris Shaw from the Giants sounds good.
  15. Jonathan LuCroy and Blaine Boyer to the Mariners for Mike Zunnino ©, Tyler O'Neil (OF-#4 prospect), Edwin Diaz (RHP-# 2 prospect) and Ryan Yarbrough (LHP-#12 prospect, possibly MLB ready)? The Mariners could use bullpen help and a catcher/DH/1B fills several needs. Yarbrough and Zunnino could be second half starters and O'Neil is not far away. With Zunnino, at least we wouldn't have to see Maldanado behind the plate!
  16. That is why I said Barnes, not Blazek.
  17. Kirkman and Magnifico need a look if Smith, Boyer, Jeffers, Torres or Thornburg are traded. Marinez has not been poor enough to release but I assume he is the first of the current pitchers to go. I'd like to see Barnes in more pressure situations. I believe that if a starter gets hurt or traded (and another starter is not involved) we will see Hader.
  18. What are the chances of Corey Ray, Lucas Erceg and possibly a college pitcher of two getting fast tracked to the Timber Rattlers to mix in with Trent Clark, Jacob Gatewood and Tucker Nieuhaus (hopefully he returns healthy and has a good 2nd half)? The are the same ages and Erceg and Ray appear to have more advanced bats.
  19. The Brewers need to package Hill with a bullpen pitcher if the are going to get a decent return. With that being said Cecchini, Middlebrooks (lightening in a bottle?) and Magnifico need playing time at some point in the second half. If Hill is traded I do not want to see Perez get all the starts or Arcia up and Villar moved to third. If Arcia is up Villar needs to move to 2B or platoon at all three positions. Villar is a guy to build around and has not hit his prime. My guess is Arcia up in 2017 and a Villar transition is made in spring training.
  20. Pretty similar expectations from all teams, a stud position playing prospect, a high upside, controllable young pitcher and a catcher to fill the LuCroy void. Throw in a reliever not named Smith and you can get the player in parentheses. I don't think I am over or underestimating estimating LuCroy's value. If so, I like the Ranger's package best. Red Sox: Devers and Owens; Vazquez (Ball or Johnson) Rangers: Brinson and Tate; Nicholas (Matuella or Ortiz) Dodgers: Bellinger and Deleon; Grandal (Buehler or Montaz)
  21. Knebel, Goforth, Magnifico, Houser and possibly, Hader (just to limit his innings) are all bullpen pitchers the Brewers need to see if there are injuries or if Smith, Jeffress, Thornburg, Boyer, Torres, Marinez or Blazek were traded. Knebel just needs to "get right." I'd like to see Barnes in some more pressure situations.
  22. I would rather see Castillo then Flores, Presley or Broxton IF Milwaukee got him in 10 days on a minor league deal (basically, for nothing). I am about ready for them to dump Maldanado and give Pinto or Pina a shot, too. He used to be a good defensive catcher. His lack of offense doesn't not make up for this years average play and under average pitch selection.
