  1. Did anyone else think Ortiz's ball was a lazy fly out off the bat? I was shocked that went over.
  2. Yay Tim. First I think he was safe. Second, he wasn't trying to sac bunt. He was going for a hit.
  3. I hope the Brewers show some patience today, because DiceK will walk plenty if they let him.
  4. It seems apparent that Fielder will not be here long term. If the Brewers still feel Weeks will be an elite offensive player, I think now is a great time to try and buy low if he is receptive to it.
  5. Caught stealing with Braun and Fielder coming up hurts...
  6. What if the Brewers felt that way a couple years ago with Fielder, Braun Gallardo, etc? Do guys like Clayton Kershaw and Jay Bruce not have value?
  7. I'm not sure I agree with this for a couple reasons. The Brewers will probably want major league players, likely pitching, if they trade Fielder. The Brewers and Rangers are in very different situations; trading Prince for four prospects wouldn't be smart. Secondly, Teixeira was closer to free agency than Prince is, and that will be the case for a couple years yet.
  8. The one that bugs me the most is "that was a tough pitch to take with two strikes!" when the pitch is a ball. It's a ball, and the guy took it, yet he's questioning it. Why not say, "Nice job to lay off that pitch" or "impressive plate discipline" or something like that?
  9. Webb-Haren at 1-2 isn't even fair.
  10. Remember when Zach Jackson was touted as the centerpiece of the Overbay trade? That was sure disappointing.
  11. Not sure about Zach Jackson, but it's hard to defend Stetter. Eight walks in his last inning+ is brutal.
  12. Yeah, I really don't understand why Kendall has caught so much. And I am also ready for Gwynn to be off the roster.
  13. No way. Hall or Cameron are both infinitely better hitters than Counsell.
  14. Prince just fouling off a bunch of pitches. Come on, rip one.
  15. Well, I take back most of what I was saying now that it's buys out two FA years. That's huge, and the money is quite a bit less than what I had feared. This won't really affect a potential Sheets extension, either. Have to think Hart is the next one to be extended.
  16. Probably as much as any signing they've made. I wish they'd have talked to their impending FA ace pitcher before a guy who is a FA in six years (of course they may be talking, but as far as we know they aren't).
  17. Is there really evidence of that much inflation? Not trying to make a point, but actually asking. A-Rod's deal from Texas is still the largest contract ever, and that quite a while ago, but I'm not sure if that's the best way to look at it.
