  1. About all I would give up for Matt Harvey is a framed pic of Wendy Selig-Prieb and an autographed baseball of Bill Spiers. One of those mass produced stamped ones.
  2. If the Brewers are "getting hits" and (reporting this news), it tells me the Brewers are letting everyone know that our OF's are for sale. This would also seem like the "Brewers" are trying to undo the logjam at OF and are the one's being proactive. I see more of a Braun to SF than Santana due to SF's farm. If Braun would approve a trade I could see a scenario of Braun to SF for Samardjia to offset salary and a prospect such as Arroyo as Arroyo could step into second base today.
  3. Yeah, let's trade our junk like Broxton. Everyone wants to trade junk, and wants great players in return. There is nothing that Broxton will fetch us that will actually be anything better than what we have. You want a great player then you have to give something up that hurts a little. Everyone has a price.
  4. Why do you want us to lose 90 games? Pitching wins championships. We lose Khris Davis and Santana takes his place. We improve big time, yet we have similiar numbers from both outfielders. What changed the record for the better last year? Improved pitching.......but not enough to make the playoffs. What do we have a surplus of? OF The 3 way offer seems to make sense all the way around, but hey I sit in the cheap seats. So what do I know.
  5. 3 way trade. We send Domingo Santana to the Giants. We send Isan Diaz to Tampa. Giants send Arroyo, Shaw and Beede to Tampa. And Tampa sends us Archer. Make this happen Stearns!
  6. Archer > Arrieta. In talent and $ saved. $ that can be used elsewhere whether today or tomorrow.
  7. The harm is that he could be blocking a young gun who can pitch south of 5.00.
  8. What would be the ramifications if we get the big 3 in pitchers. Sign Darvish. Sign Arrieta. And trade for Archer. Would this make us Playoff bound? Would we really be that in debt? I say if we go in, then go all in or don't go at all. And to add extra caramel to the ice cream we get Ohtani too. Thoughts???
  9. No one is talking about shipping out ALL of our hard work. You can't just stockpile all the prospects you want in the minors until they're ready, that's why they have the Rule 5. Have you seen the list of guys who will be Rule 5 eligible if not protected in the next year? The list is insane. Harrison, Supak, Medeiros, Isan Diaz, Ortiz, Gatewood, Ponce, Bickford...just to name a FEW. You simply can't find room on your roster for everyone by next year. Either some of these guys get traded or we lose them for nothing in the Rule 5. Then let's talk about trading those guys you just listed and not Brinson, Phillips, Dubon, Hader and the like. You trade your surplus and you trade your quantity. Not your quality.
  10. So you send a letter to the fans stating that your rebuilding and to be patient. You tell your fan base that your not going to compete in waves but to create a system to win at a consistent level year in and year out. Then you spend the last 2 years creating these great trades for explosive young talent and rebuild your putrid farm system. And just like that.....Boom! You send all your hard work to acquire a pitcher who's not even considered an ace. Sounds legit to me.
  11. 1. Do not resign Walker, do not resign Villar, move Perez to 2nd full time. Sogard to be the backup. 2. Trade Thames and keep Aguilar with Braun moving to first. 3. Brinson in center, Phillips in right and Domingo in Left. 4. Try to pull a trade off for Archer. If that means Brinson and others to TB. Then so be it. No Hader or Woodruff, Bickford instead. Maybe even Orlando Arcia. 5. Try to trade for Francisco Mejia from the Tribe if Archer trade falls through. 6. Arrieta- Be a price driver and in the end just say NO. 7. Darvish - See Arrieta 8. Give Hader a shot at SP in spring training. 9. Find a new AAA minor league facility.
  12. Laugh my F A Off!!!! And X2 as well!!!
  13. I for one am not counting on Jeffress to do well. If he does, then great. But I wouldn't get too excited.
  14. Verlander is not going to waive his no trade clause to come to Milwaukee.
  15. Like when I used to work at Menards and their dumb managers used to preach at all the meetings - "Sell, Sell, Sell" Man, I hated that place.
  16. The scary part is that the Brewer's have checked in on Granderson. Which tells me that there's a possibility of trading Brinson. Me no likey.
  17. The only reason the Brewer's are checking in on Granderson is because their is a high possibility their sending Brinson somewhere. Brinson goes and guarantee Granderson will be the new centerfielder.
  18. Thank goodness. The thought of trading away the farm for Gray makes me cringe. X2
  19. Gray is a #3 on a non playoff team. #4 on a playoff team. And a #5 on a World Series team.
  20. Phillips and Santana can easily be a lefty/righty platoon in center next year. Domingo in right and Braun in left. Braun's history says he will miss games. Plenty of opportunity for all 4.
  21. I still want them to make several moves, Gray being one of them..I have just given up that they will..keep hearing rumors about them being in on so many different guys, but obviously Stearns is too passive/scared to pull the trigger on anything. Oh well, WHEN this rebuild plan fails in the next 3-4 years and he's looking for a new job, he'll have to own it, and always regret not trying to improve the ballclub when he had a chance. Rumors on so many guys is that Stearns wants to know what the price is on EVERYONE. This gives him a overall feel of the value of the market and let's him decide where value can be found and what he should stay away from. Almost all off his acquisitions are based on value. And the only way this rebuild fails is if they sell all their acquisitions for short term success with high risk.
  22. It's funny how far down this thread has fallen given the Brewer's current status. Where's all the Gray supports now??? How would you feel now if the Brewer's just gave up Brinson, Hader and a Burnes for this guy??? I am not a Gray fan. I am a David Stearns fan however, and looks to be for good reason.
  23. Remember, Verlander has to approve but I can't see Verlander wanting to be on a team that's now on a decline. Not only that, who wants to live in Detroit. And the NL is easier to pitch than the AL.
  24. Mr. Stearns, If your reading this..........Don't trade for Gray. Just don't.
  25. If I'm Stearns I am passing on Gray if the price is as high as it is after today's outing. I would need to see another start from Gray.
