  1. I think after that showing yesterday, the frustration was justified. They looked like a completely different team tonight. And Monday night, for that matter. Yesterday was a certified clunker, though. Can't afford many of those this time of year. That's why people were frustrated. Sounds like baseball. If it's completely random, why bother talking about it?
  2. [sarcasm]Stop overreacting![/sarcasm]
  3. There should be a fine for putting that lineup out there. Then again they just hung three on Hamels in the first and the "A" lineup did next to nothing in the other games. The first thing I want (assuming the division is not an option) is home field for the WC play in game, but I want the Cards and Rox fighting for that spot to the last day of the season. I don't want either to have the luxury of resting players and lining up pitching. I have no issue playing the Cubs in round two. On paper they are the better team but I think they are more vulnerable than people think this year.
  4. Expressing disappointment with how the team is playing is far from panicking. That is such an overreaction in the opposite direction. I defy a single person to unequivocally state that going 2-3 against the Reds and Pirates (at home, in the stretch run) is ideal. There isn't single person that is giddy with excitement about that prospect. And no, I'm not going to sit back and be satisfied with being the road team in what amounts to a play in game. I never bought into the divisional stuff but there is no reason this team shouldn't be hosting the play in game. I'm not saying they won't but this isn't looking good with a road trip through Pittsburgh and St. Luis looming. Who is excited about that proposition right now?
  5. I start to think, it's the Reds. They can win the next one and everyone can lose the next one and all will be well. Then I come in here and am reminded of the pitching matchup and everything is shattered.
  6. If they fade again, the people that think the pessimism was over the top this year are going to lose their minds next year. If they let it slip away again, well, that stink aint gonna wash off for a very long time.
  7. The problem is they have repeatedly proven in the second half that they are not going to take care of business against the Pirates and Reds. Who knows what happens in St. Luis. Forget about thier impressive path through the playoffs, they better be focused on getting there in the first place.
  8. We are more likely to win the division than miss the playoffs still. Both chances are really small though, 3% vs 4%. I believe those odds assume we don't lose 3 of 5 to bad teams?
  9. Only silver lining would be the Dodgers beating the Rockies again. Rockies gotta be feeling demoralized after the news about Story today. As a Brewer fan, I don't really want to back into the playoffs, but if it happens, it's better than missing it entirely. I don't think they'll be demoralized by a guy missing a few games.
  10. You are 100% correct. Scoreboard watching while watching the Brewers offense lay an egg is just frustrating. Not getting any help from so-called playoff contenders this week is frustrating as well. They shouldn't need help. If they do, they don't deserve it.
  11. Beating good teams too. Meanwhile, the Pirates and Reds............. It is getting to be pretty excruciating that the Cardinals just won't go away. That team scares the crap out of me. It isn't the Cardinals that are infuriating. They are doing what a playoff team should do this time of year. The infuriating thing is losing 3 of five to the Pirates and Reds and looking pretty darn meek in those three losses. If the Brewers were doing what they are supposed to do it wouldn't matter what the Cards do. Now it does.
  12. Beating good teams too. Meanwhile, the Pirates and Reds.............
  13. Good grief this team is frustrating. Just when you think they've figured it out they get dominated by teams that are basically eliminated. This team is just missing something.
  14. So Cain pulled early to straight games, hmmm.............
  15. On paper, the Dodger are the only team I feel is truly better than the Brewers. That would be a bad match up having to face one of Kershaw, Buehler, Maeda or Stripling in a one game playoff. There is no good choice there. Their offense is deep, powerful and versatile. Their bullpen might be a tad soft but they are getting healthier and it's strong enough given their starters and offense. That is the one team I'd hate to face in a one game playoff. My hope is the Cards and Rox stay tight till the very end and let the best team come out withered and scarred from the fight and in less than ideal shape to play us.
  16. I think I'd rather face the Cardinals.
  17. Of course if the offense completely implodes and they blow it all together I'll have a different opinion.......cuz we gotta blame someone right.........right!
  18. Oh, so the manager can win games for your team but he can't lose them? Got it... I thought there wasn't a need to argue it any further?
