  1. Hmm, deal fell through? This all sounds like people wanting to see something that wasn’t quite there. As a previous poster mentioned, I would think O scouts would want a look at him tonight. Yeah, I shoulda put that in blue.
  2. Hmm, deal fell through?
  3. Almost what I was thinking except maybe Erceg in place of Stokes. Reports are that Baltimore is looking for replacement for that side of the infield. If they were scouting AA today, they may demand Diplan. I think it takes more. IF that were good enough it'd be done by now.
  4. That's where I'm at. The Dodgers out bid us the second they decide they want to.
  5. I'm sorry but if we are looking at just this year there is no way Votto belongs on this team over Aguilar.
  6. That is what everyone said after they got Cain and Yelich, it didn't happen.
  7. How good is he at first? I'm not a great evaluator of defensive ability unless the player is truly awful. Where does Aguilar truly stand.
  8. Any team but the Orioles and I'd disagree. If they truly value major league ready talent (and I believe the Orioles might be the one team that would do that) then we may be uniquely positioned to offer that.
  9. It seems like he's had good games when leading off. Still has the speed to cause problems on the base paths. He has more patience this year, was at one point leading the team in pitches per AB. Seems like when CC put him at the top of the order he's made things happen. He's had a good game today. Definitely not the first guy I'm looking to get off the 25 man.
  10. I think Santana could be a viable 4th piece. Something like Woodruff, Ortiz/Burnes, Arcia/Dubon and Santana.
  11. Is the answer to who is going to lose his job after the all star game?... Also the answer to who is the next whipping boy.
  12. The point is, you're claiming that the Brewers have been listed in these deals before during the 'past couple of deadlines,' but there seems to be more smoke here than typical. I'm not sure it's completely fair to dismiss it as just another rumor, when the Brewers are being listed as 'one of the favorites' at this point. But I'm not doing that. I totally believe they are in the running for Machado just like I totally believe they were in the running for Quintana last year. I will still be impressed if we end up with Machado.
  13. Yes they were. I believe we were "one of the favorites" for Quintana as well.
  14. Ok, how about 'a favorite for?' @Ken_Rosenthal suggested dodgers & brewers may be in lead. No idea what point you are trying to make. The Brewers may well be a primary contender for Machado. I'll still be impressed if they pull it off. None of that has anything to do with the comment I replied to.
  15. OK, but to be "in play for" was the term used, not "favorite for". I have seen plenty of rumors the last couple of deadlines claiming the Brewers were "in play for". Having said that, my reaction stays the same.
  16. I’m going to be honest , it’s beautiful seeing us even in National rumors as in play for top talent going into the deadline . Love this feeling. I've seen plenty of rumors that last couple of deadlines involving the Brewers. I'll be impressed if they actually pull this particular one off.
