  1. Didn't say he's had a terrible night. Said nobody fears his bat anymore, which is true. It was a bad at bat. Nothing more.
  2. It’s highest point was 99 feet and was falling before hitting the scoreboard. By the time it hit the scoreboard it was starting a decent faster than it was going horizontally. So I would be comfortable saying there is absolutely no way it would have gone a 100 more feet. If it fell about 20 feet down for every 10 feet it went farther 433 makes a ton of sense. OK
  3. The fence is 400. You can't tell me that ball wouldn't have gone 100 feet beyond that unimpeded. That was a blast.
  4. Most projections still seem to heavily favor the Cubs to win the division even now.
  5. I think the issue with recognition and non-belief is the make up of the team. Yelich and Cain are decent players but we don't have an ace and we don't have a sure fire all-star positional player. They are doing this with guys like Aguilar and Chacin who don't have that "star" pedigree. This is a team in truest sense of the word.
  6. I can't comment too much on this .. but I do remember Perez talking one night with Sophia or the booth or someone and the line of questioning was how he prepares each day not knowing where he is going to play the next day (position wise) and he said something along the lines that he is told the day before if he will be starting so he knows what position, etc. Now I'm sure that stuff changes based on injuries, hot streaks, etc ... but it sounded like Counsell preps those guys who are constantly shuffling a little bit and they know when they will be off? They have been operating this way for some time now. I think the players know full well how CC operates and know better than to take it personally when the line up comes out (or when they are told ahead what the line up will be). They all get AB's one way or another and seem to be very cognizant that they are a team that relies on all of its parts and pieces.
  7. With no Cain available, this looks like the best lineup we can have on a given day. I agree. Put Cain leading off, get a catcher that can hit and platoon Thames/Braun in that five spot.
  8. They would have to take at lest 2 against Atlanta. That is going to be tough happen given those pitching match ups. Optimism thread. Didn't say they couldn't or wouldn't. Touch none-the-less.

  10. It's going to be a couple more days after he felt some discomfort in his groin while doing agility drills. Ah, thanks
