  1. Absolutely shame plays an important role in society. So do humility, humbleness and forgiveness. Love him, hate him, want him gone or want him to retire a Brewer, it really doesn't matter. The minute he did what he did I lost interest in him as a person. I don't love him or hate him or particularly care what he does off the field. I don't feel it's my job to judge him in any way and he has to deal with the consequences of what he did. Hate is a very strong emotion and for anyone to hold on to hate for that amount of time is strange to me. I just hope he has a few more walk off dingers left in him.
  2. I've heard his defense has looked good since instructs. I'm not going to buy that his glove is holding him up if the current three options continue to be horrible. If he is hitting lights out, he'll be up.
  3. The sample size argument holds a lot of water. As does the likely fact that they can acquire better than Phillips for a similar outlay later if they need to. Instead of asking what the downside is, perhaps answer what the upside would be?
  4. Absolutely fantastic post.
  5. As long as the team is winning, they won't do anything. Why not give it more than three games to see if one of these jokers figures something out instead of impulsively spending money no matter how trivial we think the amount is. It cost us very little to acquire Walker, there will be fixes out there when the time comes for very little cost (probably even Phillips). Let it play out a bit.
  6. So because he was good at his job at one time he should be given slack because he's bad now? I guess we might as well bring back Lohse and Wolf to round out our rotation. Yes, he should. Period. Which has nothing to to do with on field performers. Horrible analogy.
  7. Don't agree with Briggs often but I do here. Hiura is coming faster than people think. I'd bet he's in Biloxi in a heartbeat.
  8. They aren't looking beyond Hader and Knebel. Those two profile as studs, and they don't look any deeper. Perhaps they also see Albers's numbers from last year, which lends credibility to the idea. They specifically mentioned not only Albers but Barnes and Jeffress too. I don't get it either but let's see what happens. I like that guys like Williams, Houser and Lopez are not far away.
  9. He was 94-96 which is pretty typical. Wasn't paying super close attention but the highest I saw was 94 and a lot of 92 and 93. He hit 95/96 quite a bit.
  10. LOL, I keep thinking the same thing everytime I see it.
  11. Just kind of all the more surprising that they didn't pursue Walker for cheap. He's certainly not spectacular, but he's fairly safe. I think Kipnis could end up being the one we wish we had pulled the trigger on. I think Stearns wanted to see if Villar could get the magic back, and if he can't, there will be someone we can acquire at the trade deadline similar to Walker last year or if Dubon is doing well at AAA you could give him some time there too. Either way I don't think anyone here is too concerned long term with 2B, but this year might be a project to get some production there. Hiura is coming faster than people think.
  12. Here is where we will see how good the lineup can be. The bottom has to come through in these situations. Not that one game is the story but these are the situations I'm watching.
  13. The top five are going to be pretty ferocious no matter the combination.
  14. Only slightly worse than Perez and Villar? Pretty bad then.
  15. Or he truly is involved in a trade with the Dodgers, in which case, I will be screaming into a pillow. Better chance he gets traded to wonderland for the Easter Bunny.
  16. Seriously ya'all. It's Easter Bunny.
  17. Or he truly is involved in a trade with the Dodgers, in which case, I will be screaming into a pillow. I thought DS denied the rumors?
