  3. Leaving the speculation out of the post, but this creates an interesting OF scenario. Cain possibly on the move? Bradley/Avi platoon? If Hiura can play a compitent first this is shaping up to be a top 5 defense.

  7. We did something boys. Lets enjoy it for a bit.
  8. "We need left-handed hitters!" *signs LHH depth* "...Not that LHH"
  9. Bumping with this rumor/report from Twitter:
  10. I am very much on board with this. He did just have thumb surgery though. Not sure if that factors.
  11. I don’t feel like a jerk, at least not for this... I still stand by the idea that Miller Park was probably the best possible name for theBrewers stadium if it had to have a corporate name. Insurance and financial institution names just don’t have the same feeling towards them. On a separate note, I wonder who is paying to replace any signage on the stadium. It’d seem that replacing the big Miller Park sign on the exterior of the stadium would could $1 million by itself. Is American Family really that much worse though? I don't think anybody is arguing against Miller Park being a perfect fit, but if it's going to be something else American Family might be the best alternative. There's nothing wrong with the words "American" and "Family" being associated with a baseball team. Just searching other corporate sponsors of the Brewers; Associated Bank, RE/MAX, U.S. Cellular, We Energies, West Bend Mutual Insurance, Aurora Health Care, Delta Dental, Johnson Controls, Lubar & Co., Northwestern Mutual, Johnsonville, Klements. Are any of those any better? American Family Field sounds a heck of a lot better to me than Fiserv Forum for example. Agree completely here. Some people will chalk this up to losing an identity, but American Family is a great quality of life option for the Brewers. Having the words American and Family can help paint a very positive image for the franchise and stadium. The number may be small, but a team named after Beer and a stadium named after beer, could be a slight turn off for some families with children. I know that point sounds dumb because the percentage is small that would be influenced by that, but I think it is worth noting. The stadium will be branded through a corporate name, but if done correctly can have a very family friendly outreach/marketing possibilities.
  12. No idea who this guy is an probably merit-less and I feel bad giving it attention since I don't know who he is but it's the offseason so... https://twitter.com/Simplekindoffan/status/1087441169993355268
  13. If they want one of those young pitchers and Ray, I would think there would have to be more coming back than just Bumgarner. Giants have other pieces that I would think would be of interest. I think we are bypassing the word "initial" here too much.
  14. Surprised that Cameron Roegner isn't in almost any of these top 25's except for one crazy one that put him first. Pretty wild gap.
  15. Dan Straily or Marco Estrada
  16. Arcia hit .277, 15hr, 53rbi in a 2017 so not sure what reality you're living in.
  17. Would make little sense... Though his defense has been pretty horrible.
  18. You would have to assume by paying the price of Medeiros that the Brewers are pretty committed to picking up that option. It's not like the Brewers have a ton of money tied up next year anyway. Mark will pay for a winner.
  19. There are not many sellers this year and the available bats and arms are pretty pathetic. If I'm Stearns I go out and sell after watching the last 10 days. One or two trades are not going to fix the holes in the 2018 Brewers. I would definitely cash in on Guerra, Chacin, and Jefress at a minimum. If someone takes Lorenzo Cain I'm selling before the guy has negative trade value. If someone backs up the truck for Aguilar or Yelich I'm pulling the trigger. I'm not usually one to say this, but this is a bad post. Any suggestion of trading Yelich or Aguilar is absurd based solely on control. Trading Yelich would probably be the absolute dumbest move the franchise could make right now. Suggesting to trade Cain is just as bad, especially for the affect it would have on future free agents perception of Milwaukee. The team has lost 8 straight and still holds a playoff spot. Let's all take a breath here if this is where our heads are at.
  20. Trades to [recklessly?] gut the system, but be in full contention for the next three years: Brewers get Whit Merifield and Salvador Perez from the Royals for (deep breath) Villar, Corey Ray, Luis Ortiz, Cody Ponce, Keon Broxton and Jacob Nottingham, and whatever throw in is needed Brewers get Jacob DeGrom for Keston Hiura, Corbin Burnes, Domingo Santana, lottery. Brewers get Blake Treinen for Keon Broxton, Jacob Barnes, and Trey Supak Solidifies 2B and C until 2021. Strengthens an already strong bullpen. Guts a lot of the MILB system, but keep Woodruff, Diplan, Brown and Peralta. Still have some decent graded prospects in Erceg, Lutz, Stokes. Also necessary edit, I don't know if I would actually do these, more just framework of what they would look like.
  21. I play it nightly. I'm a full grown adult. I don't think it's so much the game that drags me in as it is the comradery of playing with three other friends. It's a very team work oriented game and is a blast when you have a full team of friends. It's also free, so that is nice. And unlike most games on the market it is constantly being updated and is very community driven. Video games are a problem if it begins to interfere with other aspects of life, but negatively looking down on video games from the get go is a very outdated stance. Skillful video games are some of the best team building, critical thinking exercises out there IMO
  22. The Mets because they would find something wrong with the roofs right hip.
  23. You can if the "few words out of place" literally makes the "news" completely fake. Which is what he did. He did the equivalent of changing "there are asteroids in space" to "an asteroid is headed towards Earth." There is a huge gap between "the Brewers have discussed certain players", which is a pretty insignificant statement, and "the Brewers have offered certain players", which is a very significant statement. It was pretty bad and irresponsible. "Posted to: BREWERS RUMORS AND SPECULATION" "Report: Brewers offer for Machado includes Corbin Burnes" -- It was the report, albeit from Bowden "Jon Morosi: Brewers engaging in trade talks with Twins" -- Sourced in the title "Report: David Stearns could be a candidate for the Mets GM Opening" -- Was the report, says the word could The dude has 20 posts to his writing repertoire. He has solid prospect posts daily. I am just saying instead of being angry pitchfork men and actually calling someone out, by name, on a message board, saying they are doing a horrible job, take a step back and if you truly want to offer them criticism do it in a fair way. We all want the same thing. Dude is a Brewers fan providing us content. Is this board that spoiled that we don't see it that way that we are all on the same team? Or do we need elitism inside the fanhood? Also, I know this is not what this forum is for and I think this post has already went off the rails, I've lurked here since 2012. I respect this place, but seldom post. But I honestly just think you guys are treating him unfairly. Line between critiques and something more.
  24. Same thing he did yesterday with the "Burnes in trade package for Machado" Bowden tweet. Wash, rinse, repeat. I called him on it yesterday, and a poster named iKezims defended the heck out of it. I'm assuming iKezims is Mr. Ford. Lol, I am not Brad Ford. My Twitter handle is the same as my username. I am going to defend journalism in whole over defending Brad. I don't know Brad. His work is good and he is still using his time and resources and is usually pretty solid. Has he had a few click-baity articles lately? Sure. But are some users here going over the top to knit-pick him? Yes. This is the age of #FakeNews, but you literally can't just call everything FakeNews because a few words are out of place. I don't know if this is Brad's only job, but the fact that this is a SB Nation syndicate, then I can assure you he likely makes very little. Though you guys might not always agree with his articles and work, we should still be appreciative in a sense that someone is using their time to put out a product. He has four new articles up, all are good, but no one here is talking about that. It is RUMOR season people. If you are assessing a journalist by how he posts rumors, then you really have deeper rooted anger for media than a Brewers blogger.
