  1. If Hader gets traded, it will probably involve someone of roughly the value of a gleybar torres at the time of trade coming back...or he won't get traded. Everything up here is of course speculation. I'll add I'm definitely bored of all the Andrew Vaughn talk. Why do we want to trade for an undersized RH 1b in the low minors? I get he has the draft pedigree, but this guy basically needs to post 950+ OPS at the MLB level immediately upon callup or it's an awful trade...if he's more of a high average, low power, 850 OPS guy that he projects to be...you can too easily replace 90% of that value in FA for a couple million. Pick a different centerpiece... I'm starting to doubt Hader will be traded anytime soon, and am also not a huge fan of Andujar either. If a trade wth the Yankees would happen though, with Andujar included, would you be willing to eat humble pie if he ended up being a All-Star level player for the Crew? . This is meant as just a little lighthearted humor, but also a serious question at the same time. Lol
  2. This is one of the problems, I think...DS doesn't strike me as the type of guy that wants to literally rake someone over the coals for a player like Hader, rather he seems like the type that would want to make a "fair" deal for both sides. For some reason I can't see him even asking for someone like Gleyber for example, figuring there's no way he'd get him. I could be wrong on that, but to me, DS should be asking for the moon and hold firm on that. No one says trades have to be fair for both sides. You figure Stearns isn't the type that would ask for a Gleyber type prospect because he'd just assume the other team wouldn't do it anyway, but also think he should ask for the moon in the trade, and stand firm to it? I'm confused.
  3. There's also a habit called "overthinking" things too.
  4. AND the owner as Mark A pretty much looked at the Grienke return from LAA as a reason GM Melvin was brushed aside. Yes, of course, Mark A would need to be happy too. . Before a potential trade was finalized though, it's obvious that Stearns would already have Mark's blessing. Lol
  5. If Hader ends up getting traded, some fans will end up being FURIOUS about the return package, and some fans will be ECSTATIC about it. That's just reality. Although, if we truly think about it, they only person who needs to be happy with the return package, is Stearns himself. No matter what happens, life WILL STILL go on people.
  6. The Hurricane?
  7. Many of us are waiting for DS to make a big splash via FA signing or trade, I'm almost certain most of us are going to end up disappointed.
  8. We paid $10 million for one year of Eric Gagne! DS didn't sign Gagne though. Doug Melvin did. Lol
  9. Relax. I was being sarcastic. Jeeesh! Lol
  10. They could draft Al Leiter's son, and give their whole bonus pool $ to sign him.
  11. I'm sure the Brewers having the 2nd lowest bonus pool to sign their 2019 draft picks, has a lot to do the draft being uninspiring to some fans. Not much the Brewers can do about that. That's what happens when major league teams win lots of games, and go deep into the playoffs. Low bonus pool, usually means teams need to draft players who should be easily signed, with lower bonus demands.
  12. Matthew Allan is probably slipping, because he supposedly told teams it would likely take $4M to get him to sign, and forgo his college commitment. Same with Jack Leiter. Leiter said he's going to college, unless drafted early by the NYY.
  13. I also understand and respect your opinion, while neither agreeing or disagreeing with it . To me, it comes down to personal preference. I agree that pitchers in both the rotation and pen usually wear down throughout the regular season more often than an offense. Imo though, a pitcher or 2 could be found via our farm system, or via waiver wire(of which Stearns has a good track record of plucking talented players from), or even a second smaller type trade for a solid type pitcher. Edwin has proven to be consistent power threat for a while now, even though he's getting older. Yes, his offensive game could decline because he's getting older, but I don't think they'll drop too drastically by the end of next year. And since his #'s are still good, and his contract is up after next season, that pretty much fits the Crew's "timeline" for winning a World Series or 2 during this year and next. Since they were only a win away last year. The more I think about it, the more it becomes apparent that there's really no wrong answer lol. As far as Kimbrel, I honestly think his best days are behind him. Don't get me wrong, he's been a phenomenal pitcher for a long time, but imo not anymore. Especially for what his salary demands supposedly are. If they trade for Edwin, I'd bet they'd still at least make a serious attempt to trade for a younger pitcher by the trade deadline.
  14. Imo, I would spend the $/prospects for Edwin. I think the Crew needs a proven and consistent RH power bat to even out the lineup a bit. I agree the Brewers also need help pitching (both the rotation and pen imo), but I still think I'd consider the bat as the bigger need right now at least.
  15. Maldonado has ONLY made $8.5 million so far? Lol must be nice. Just meant to be humorous.
  16. I hope your description of the Angels in your initial post was sarcasm. Mike Trout doesn't give the Angels an identity? Lol
  17. The teams Rodman played for, wanted his rebounding and defense. Not for his offense. Lol
  18. Isn't the better question, what wouldn't we give for Mike Trout? Lol
  19. Stearns for Syndergaard? Wouldn't Syndergaard not being in N.Y. afterward, make the Mets not so appealing for Stearns anymore? Lol. Imo, a trade like this would never happen
  20. The “can’t assume stupid” is about the Padres would hire Cameron and then just spend on overpriced free agents every year over his head with how they’ve been smart leading up to this. This was a PR move by the Padres. I don’t think they’re dumb enough to crash into the iceberg by making this a regular thing. They have a cheap roster otherwise and they were willing to overpay Hosmer as all of their guys start to hit the bigs that haven’t already. If those guys are all failures...well, then they still had their $140 million elder statesman to appease themselves and fans. Or, Cameron said that in his article without actually meaning it, with the hopes it would sway other teams from signing Hosmer. Just playing devil's advocate here a little bit
  21. No they wouldn’t, that is being a bit extreme. Arcia, Yelich, Knebel, Nelson, and Anderson/Shaw. Telling me they keep him over that? Yah...nah. He's right you know? ^^^^^^^^^^^^^
  22. I'm definitely in favor of the DH in the NL. For the same glaringly factual reasons lol
  23. I understand what you're implying. But, there has been more than 1 high profile player the Brewer acquired via trade with a big market team, or FA signing, that said they loved their time in Milwaukee
