  1. He was also very good in relief. Hopefully some team will see him as cheap relief, if he's healthy. The irony is, he's what a replacement level SP is, though some act like a 5 ERA is easy to find.
  2. Seth can throw at AAA anywhere, as his velocity will have every team happy to have him. He needs to find a team who will put him in their AAA rotation.

  4. I'm not sure what the question is, as he is the starting RF. Certainly, no one is overly concerned with what, 40-50 PA's in 'Zona. They do have very solid reserve OF's, so if he struggles, he'll be rested, and in theory, you could see him in a platoon if he struggles. That's a decision that will be made after a few hundred AB's.
  5. If Counsell would go down, he would probably be the guy, as he can play SS well, and Heether cannot.
  6. As FtJ wrote on BCB a week ago, Suppan could easily have value if a SP or two go down, as he would be expected to outpitch Estrada or whoever. Snyder, really none, as Salome/Lucroy would be expected to be as good.
  7. AAA 2B that can hit are a dime a dozen...2B is where SS and 3B's that can't throw end up. Hernan's big league time will be very limited unless he is able to play SS/3B or make it as an OF/2B. He's a bit unique that he bats lefty, but that's not enough by itself.
  8. Others have pointed out how Dumars has "lost his touch" since Hammonds left.
  9. His numbers were not good, but Robert and myself each saw a player that might move up in Delaney. That said, if he can't hit more, good first impressions will mean nothing.
  10. I don't see Justis, who is 27 and has a 700ish career OPS in almost 1000 AA AB's as a guy who deserves anything but an organizational soldier moniker. I assume Heether and Olmedo will get most of the PA's at 2B at Nashville. Counsell and Inglett make the backing up Weeks aspect of it meaningless, unless they need a RH platoon partner.
  11. A handful of AB's mean nothing. I'm sure there will be similar players on the waiver wire if Edmonds decides he's done...which you think he'd know by now.
  12. They said some pro scouts don't like Ramhan...must be the same ones who said Jennings could not shoot. He'll be a force in his 2nd and 3rd year.
  13. They said the other night CHI is all but locked out of the bottom ten. CHI will win a couple home games, you'd think as well, that would put LAC at 7-6...unlikely.
  14. Cain had a good camp, you'd sure think he's the AAA CF.
  15. I used to have a pager that did the scores, but it did not look nearly that good. I assume it's the same technology.
  16. I would much prefer that than to have an unhealthy fixation on veterans who can't hit now and haven't hit for half a decade. Not to give it away, but his name rhymes with Busty Daker.
  17. I wonder why they did not add terrace level. I left them for others, wife would have had to rearrange her schedule, and the boy miss school. I've suggested a $10 best seat available in the past, and I still do, especially for April weeknights.
  18. What Bullox said. Also, I don't think you can add a player in the playoffs. Not to mention, you can get a good idea if it's a guy you want to keep or not for the future over the last month. If this player can literally garner a single rebound and put back, it could bump them up a seed and possibly a playoff series win. You don't worry about some fella costing them 20 games of minimum in this circumstance.
  19. The salary for the minimum is pennies. With Redd out, Gadzuric on the roster, and the big guy they got in the 76ers deal, they are effectively at 11 guys. While no one is going to replace Bogut if he gets hurt, they need to have a big body in case Ersan or Thomas went down.
  20. I'd say with Dillard, Loe, and the other decent minor league FA's they signed, they might have a very good AAA rotation and staff.
  21. I don't care if they add Damon Jones, it's just offensive that they are in the playoff race and they're a man under the maximum roster size. I like Brian Butch's present and future as much as either one of them, by the way.
  22. I dunno either...
  23. I dunno either...
  24. Nice things have been said about Kotteras and Treanor, but since Matt is on a minor league deal, it would appear to be George. Matt will either backup Angel in AAA or go to AA, or given a chance to go elsewhere. Matt can just as easily go from AA to the bigs if someone needs a reserve, and Doug would not stand in his way, so hopefully, he'll stick around.
  25. I assume they just call it a price match or open box discount. A key might be needed at the register if the discount is over a certain %.
