  1. Now, hold on, Jake. If he is really good, they will have to trade him in 2030, so you better not get too excited today.
  2. You're a great poster, for sure. I'm gonna get carried away in the moment, but it is what keeps me invested. Hope is a beautiful thing.
  3. Turang's homer had barely landed in left field, and there were "well, rookies will have ups and downs" posts in the IGT. I don't get it.
  4. I can't think of any reason to temper my enthusiasm. It costs me nothing. It's April, it's baseball, and having been a Brewer fan since they arrived in 1970, I have usually looked for reasons to be optimistic (exception for the Lachemann years). I have rarely had this kind of rookie capital to be excited about in a long time. I thought Yount and Bobby Sheldon were going to be the double play combo for the ages. I was excited for Pat Listach, Rickie Weeks, Billy Joe Robidoux, and Jaime Cocanower. Cal Eldred and Ben Sheets. Marshall Edwards, Sixto Lezcano, Len Sakata...even though my heart has been broken almost every single time, I'm back. Turang, Wiemer, Frelick! This year's Jim Rice/Fred Lynn, Jerome Walton/Dwight Smith. Let's go!
  5. Scoring 12 runs in the fifth inning the last two days is a good pace. Keep that up, it’ll be a good season.
  6. Cutch was way more predictable. I could go get something from the kitchen when he batted. He was no JBJ, but reliably bad.
  7. I noticed Turang had the oven mitt on his right hand, but slid into the base with his bare left hand reaching for the base. Is that normal? Why wear the glove, then?
  8. You don’t shy from controversial takes.
  9. And not all games are created equal. I would say Friday evenings are more likely to be a game I’d devote an evening to watch, as opposed to a weekday day game or a night game when I might check in, but not watch every pitch.
  10. All I will say is we had a fantastic meal at Los Sombreros on Scottsdale Rd last week. Sit on the back patio. Our server was Payton, and if you value service, his menu knowledge was great, recommendations were excellent. The pollo con espinaca was lick the bowl good. Great smoky flavors to the food. We had friends who went to a different location in Mesa, did not have a good experience with service and felt very disappointed. Entire meal was under $100. So many great options in Scottsdale.
  11. Favorite overheard comment from a Reds fan: “We are going to Cincinnati in October, and hope we can catch a game.”
  12. He looked barely faster than Albert Pujols when he was running the bases today. But he hit the ball hard
  13. Google where the shady seats are, if that matters. Get to Am Fam earlier to park. We got delayed by traffic due to an accident, and the serpentine line of cars trying to park didn’t help. Reds park is waaaay out west. But parking is easy and free. Cubs park was also east in and out. Went to Chase Field for WBC and Willys Taco Joint was fantastic.
  14. I had some fantastic food, but it’s not west of Phoenix as you asked. The chicken with spinach at Los Sombreros in Scottsdale was amazing. Everything we had there was good. Wren and Wolf is ridiculously pricy but spectacular. I liked the pizza at Spinato’s, very reasonable. I have a lot of complaints about the ballpark food and experience. Cincinnati’s park today featured 20-30 minute food lines. I wanted skyline chili, and they were saying it was a 15-minute wait for Skyline, after I had waited in line. I went to a stand alone burger stand because there were only 6 or 7 people in line. I was told up front there was a 20-minute wait for a burger once you ordered. I was hungry, but there’s a limit to how much of the game I’m willing to miss. brewers are one of the few teams that charges for parking at spring training. They confiscated my drawstring bag, because they apparently weren’t allowed inside the park, where they had a table where you could get…a drawstring bag. good thing I love baseball.
  15. 8th inning, 7-0 Brewers, 19 hits to 2. Burnes was great. Brice Turang can be rearranged to spell “granite curb.” That is all.
  16. Daniel Norris sighting for Cincinnati. After his Brewer career, strange to see him in another team’s uniform.
  17. At Brewers-Reds. Brosseau/Anderson/Voit at the top of the lineup is less than I had hoped for, but it’s 2-0 already!
  18. I’m going to Mexico-Colombia on Saturday. Can’t wait!
  19. Sorry if already said: He was never signing with the Brewers long-term. If he wants to pout and jeopardize a potential $400 million contract because they were mean to him over $750k, he’s king of the idiots. What a baby going to the press with that nonsense. And I am pro player in these matters. Not a fan of owners.
  20. That last sentence was a wild ride. Let me get ahead of the mob and say I'm disappointed with what the 2023 World Series Champions got in return for the Devin Williams trade.
  21. Hey, he's a top 25 prospect!
  22. I love the club seats. I know that they can get pricey, but the view is good, there are some better food options, and it never feels crowded up there. Regarding the location discussion, since I come from Madison, the location is good, and probably saves 20-30 minutes over what it would take to get all the way downtown at game time. However, I agree with an earlier poster that there is nothing better than a downtown location for a park. SF, Colorado, St. Louis, Cincinnati, Minnesota, all have great locations. Taking the train to Busch is so easy, and you get dropped off across the street from the park. I think that getting out of the parking lot after the game and heading West on I-94 is a breeze from the lots on the Northwest side of the stadium.
