  1. Neither a chiropractor nor a masseuse could fix a pinched neck in 8 hours. It is something that takes time to heal' date=' especially if you are going to potential put stress on it like pitching might. They could speed it up a little and ease the pain a little but they aren't just making it magically go away.[/quote] He didn't sleep on a cement block. A pinched neck from sleeping on a pillow wrong... how beat up is this guy? I have a bad back, bad neck you name it... both biological issues and collision issues. Sleeping wrong has never caused something beyond advil and or a chiropractor. He's an athlete... can't imagine he'd be that fragile. And we are talking multiple days rest... not just that it happened but required multiple days rest.
  2. This but Ueker wouldn't let him call the game. There are many times the ball is hit and Ueker seems to have no idea where its headed. Pitch count just isn't a thing to him.
  3. Uecker's call on that was unbelievably bad. I still don't know what happened. He has gotten to be just awful. I know what you mean but Ueck did say two out so then we knew. He is and will always be my favorite in the booth. I will forgive a lot. Love Uek but I don't like going to Game Center to find out what just happened
  4. I suggest you go look at Bell's at bat in the third umpires have scored three runs for Pittsburgh now
  5. If Brinson could just come up next year and be a 280 hitter with solud obp w wouldn't care who we had at 2nd base. The issue is that they feel they need to lead off villar and he has been awful all year. Question as i didnt follow him as closely last year... aka not watching game and gamecenter for pitch locations... but did he swing at crap last year like he does this year? He didn't walk alot last year but hes on pace to fall 27 short there while adding 32 ks. Lasik? Or has his plate discipline slipped that badly? If thats the case for the drought year... I'd expect he could revert back to 2016... but he's showing next to no signs of getting it back yet.
  6. As we trade for phillips and brinson... and draft ray to add to clark. This team has invested so heavily in plus athlete OFs that many have questioned why soo many... yet we are turning to Villar at CF. I always wanted this team to platoon more... but now its come and gone too far.
  7. Ok... 2 things. 1... I don't buy this. The team doesn't have a chiropractor and a (how do you spell masuse?) on call? They dont have muscle relaxers? Like every issue that could be caused by a kinked neck from a bad nights sleep should not linger beyond 8 hours with a mlb medical staff. 2... Thankful we have had good Barnes the past 2 games... otherwise this... sheesh
  8. Villar last week: .389/.450/.667/1.117 Broxton last week: .154/.267/.385/.651 Villar last two weeks: .308/.357/.500/.857 Broxton last two weeks: .250/.341/.472/.814 Yeah. Rock bottom . Add in the fact there was a righty on the mound and Counsell was looking for more offense. And most likely Villar is just as good defensively if given the innings in CF. I'm stunned no one in a page of responses mentioned Villar was in no way part of the brewers scoring a run tonight... nor did he save one. Yet you said he was a big part of them taking the lead? Rock bottom expectations for Villar... understand now? Did he cheer on Pina or motivate Broxton? Is that how he contributes in a big way these days? Also... your last week for Villar is hinged on his last 4 games. He has 5 other ab last week 1-5... so 4 games of 2-5 3-5 1-5 1-3 add 2bb in those games.... thats your whole last week. But wait 2 weeks.... only adds 5 more ab... also 1-5. Maybe we should throw a parade that he walked twice in the last 3 games coming into tonight.... cuz prior to that it was 33ab no walks. LEADOFF HITTER! Pitch 4 tonight was 8 inches outside if not more... 3-1 got hacked to 2-2... But yeah for 4 games he looked good... got fat on cincy... who didnt?.... and the other 10 ab in the last 2 weeks don't overshadow that. He's had multiple little flashes like the last 4 games... one that started with cincy.... and he's yet to have a month over 243 average... and he don't walk. Is broxton better... nope he too has been trash most of this year... but he's a MLB caliber CF... (I'm sorry your assumption that villar should be able to play it as good with more experience isn't really all that reassuring).... and broxton does is sucking in the 7 hole... not leading off.
  9. How do you know Broxton was going to be so much better? You are just hating to hate. Why? Can't you like...be positive? 1. I know broxton won't lead off. That makes him better. 2. No I'm hating because this was a bad decision. Didn't bite mke in the butt thank god but it was still a dumb decision. Want a lefty bat... not enough reason to start a dude in CF who hasn't even been shagging balls there (per his words) all year. This was 4 day sample size generated wing it foolishness. That is desperate management. 1 ball was hit to villar... I'm grateful it was boring out there. His bat cooled off... stunning! He got fat on the reds. Don't care. 4 games, don't care. This was a bad decision and bad decisions bite you in the butt more often than not. Throwing a guy out there in CF vs flare hitting pitt and soft tossing davies. Making sure you keep villars season long slumping high K bat in the lineup at leadoff. Think of that and tell me its wise. At least we know broxton can field the position at CF caliber. Walker can lead off... he doesn't swing at crap.
  10. Played a big role in getting the lead... Standards for villar have hit rock bottom!
  11. Great way to show the Villar start was dumb Did Villar not do his job? Oh wait, he did. Complain to complain. 1-4 infield deflected single.... caught one easy play. That's his job? 2 more K swinging at ball 3 on his first freaking ab... not even close... tgats his job. Dude had 4 good games... broxton has been decent since coming up... but ok... 4 games... a position he doesn't play... contending team... villar really murdered nova. Great decision! Since it didn't ruin anything... GREAT JOB!
  12. 1 great month and a whole lot of left-handed Chris Carter
  13. Arcia was in the original lineup, scratched due to back spasms IIRC. Supposedly Villar is playing CF to get as many lefty bats in there as possible against Nova. Doesn't seem to be working all that well though. Nor do I see why he has to bat leadoff when he's in the lineup. Curious about Thames though, where would you bat him? I figured, but hoped to be wrong, about Arica being hurt. Personally I'd like to see Thames moved down to get some more runners on for our HR leader. -Walker -Braun -Shaw -Santana -Thames My vote
  14. This has disaster written all over it. Trying to be positive but this has disaster written all over it. Especially Davies and Pittsburgh combination. Can't have a guy misjudging flares in Center tonight.
  15. That was my assumption. Something minor, but something that an extra day off could help... HA! Stop trying to get in an arguement and congrats on a random guess at an out of the blue minor issue.
  16. Its a lot of wear for back to back days.... But explain 2 ip for Barnes when Swarzak hasn't pitched this series??? Andrew Gruman tweet Counsell says Anthony Swarzak was unavailable today due to neck stiffness. Must have slept wrong or been leaning his head on his hand too long in the bullpen.
