  1. Woof... walk the pitcher goodwin difo go yard... thats all folks...
  2. More like 2-1 lead handing the ball to scahill (worst pen arm) with hader hughes available. Then scahill the next day bases loaded (this worked) Remember 3rd straight day of Drake in extras. Sending perez after 5 straight hits making a 2nd out on the basepaths after the santana ump debacle. His attatchment to Torres Scahill Drake vs RH.... when he's had hader blazek hughes putting up zeros. Last night ignoring momentum and a jacked up Hader to go to hughes a contact pitcher vs a great hitter. It hasn't been after the fact on many of the choices... its been an instant WHY! You've seen it in game threads often... bad choice worked out. Bad choice got hurt. Is it to much to ask for good decisions. I can live with bad results from good choices. Can't stomach bad decisions. I'm very pro stressing the pen when you have a likely win on the board knowing there will be games where you wear a L. CC white flags good opportunities to make sure he doesnt get stuck in the coming days.
  3. I wish the metrics guys would finally get to see if the split start theory works. Nelson Anderson (when he's back) Guerra4/suter4 Garza5/hader3 Davies Knebel Swarzak Barnes hughes blazek(psuedo long) Drake (loogy only) If you can infact get 6-7 from nelson anderson davies... and 8 from the 2 combos... pen could get some serious rest. With our versatility in perez villar i dont mind a 4 man bench. 5 feels more comfortable though.
  4. Its strange... The in the case of the bucks you have Giannis Thon Parker developing and I cant bring myself to give Kidd and his coaches props for that... and I know they are TERRIBLE IN GAME. Bad offense defense inbound... you name it he's terrible and i give him no credit for their development. CC and his coaches are quite brutal in game as well. Decisions seem to alter future decisions based on if the last one worked... quick hook... no... ok hang the next dude... hot hand... nope ok matchups next time. I struggle constantly with his ability to manage in game and with his coaches ability to read a situation in game. That being said... his pitching coach fixed Nelson. A number of guys have simply worked here for an unknown reason and the chemistry on this roster is a beautiful thing to watch. CC might be an port in the storm for this team. Might be a great leader and he has some great developmental coaches around him. In this case I think he actually deserves credit here. But in game... he needs to develop like these young players do or just like villar broxton... he should manage his way out of the job. This last 2-7... I comfortably put 3 loses solely on him.
  5. Brinson notches his 1st. 1/3 bb is a line I'll take any day even if the 1 is a single. Davies since start 5 of the season on APRIL 25TH... ERA 3.7. People see the rough 4.5 era and forget his first 4 starts were real bad. Nelson Anderson/Suter Davies Garza... have been quite solid.... that guerra/willy/espino slot.... eesh!
  6. He's no savior and will merely be in the mix anyway... per CC
  7. I think you can up that number to infinite additions after hearing how cryptic CC was about our new add in his presser.
  8. 2nd or 3rd was a strike clearly. Memory fails me. 4th ball was given as a strike a few times tonight in other spots. Umpires zone was a shape that i dont recognize... he was very inconsistent.
  9. Such garbage... two pirate-esque hits and such crap.
  10. I've wanted Hader so many times this year they didnt go to him.... This is not one of those times
  11. Was hoping that braun creep up to the two spot was the start of transitioning him like mauer was with the twins... oh well.
  12. Yes, Badamo, just recently signed out of indy ball, was bumped up from High-A, apparently just for one spot start (we'll see). Ironically, Badamo is up because Reno's originally scheduled starter, former Brewers farmhand and Arizona's #1 prospect coming into the season, LHP Anthony Banda, is debuting vs. the Nationals tonight, and as I type is through 4 IP giving up only one run. No shame in giving up a Bryce Harper HR on a 3-2 pitch, either. So parra trade... ewww
  13. How many Mark A gives him... no idea. I'd give him 6. Rogers trade has proved a win even with broxton being mediocre. Lucroy trade was done at the right time. That decision on who had weight is cloudy. The return is ytd. Will smith ytd but again looks like the proper move. Thorny... shaw makes him look real good. Dubon promising. Thorny worth up in the air. Villar sparked, guerra sparked (last gm paid guerra types 12 mil/yr), sogard sparked, vogt sparked. Anderson has continued to improve and diaz is ytd. Despite segura being a low point to sell return was not bad. Segura fresh start makes it a tough value to match. Not closing a braun deal and feliz (cc asked for a closer) is the only red marks. Both are small unless you think the return from braun was great and we asked for too much. It looks like its the right direction. Teams beating expectations. Farms spoken highly of. His 4th round 15 pitcher is flying up the system. Keston looks like you want a early 1st to look. As long as you see improvement you let him build. At some point that means his guys gotta graduate and carry the club here. I know hader isnt his but this system pitching depth is the best i remember and his ability to pull talent into all levels impresses me. There are a lot of options at all times. If brinson or phillips is a solid improvement in CF and Keston is the real deal and rockets to the majors at 2nd... a you swap hader or woidruff performing solid in place of what weve got from peralta and another 2 hughes types instead of scahill drake and the playoffs will come sooner than later. Year 2 and a 66 mil club... braun out a ton... garza solid but replacable costing a goid chunk of that 66 mil... and in the race... mark A would have to be a moron to quick trigger fire that architect.
  14. So you ignore the short term where Perez is struggling in his last 8 games ...5 of last 24 8k 33% k rate which has been equal to shaw's july and 5% worse than santana's july? Equal to santanas season and 8% higher than shaws season. Coming in his 1st ab with 2 others on ab 5... 2 of 3 and a bb 1 of 3 and a bb respectively. 1k for shaw none for santana. Those factors mean zilch? This is my issue with the situation devoid numbers... perez has been bad lately. His Ks have been up lately. What numbers do you choose... career season month recent? You can't just look at his career and go... he doesnt strike out as much... cuz then you ignore whats happening now. Shaws been on today santana too how much stock do you put in that? To me its like seeing broxton clunking away and going yeah but his season = x so ignore what you see cuz its just a sample size thing. Villar and broxton have looked completely broken at times. Perez looks off lately. Santana has been taking his game up another level each passing month this year... ignore? This blind numbers stuff just baffles me... its not like tgat in any other sport... i mean your 40% 3 point shooter is clanking 3s an is 1 for 8, hes off... and your 33% 3 point shooter is watching everything fall at 5 for 5... you can see it... its not the statistical norm... but who do you draw the play for? Baseball analytics... feeling it? Hot? On? IGNORE 40% shooter ftw.
  15. I get that about perez bunting but it goes both ways... I'm on the other side I'm happy to let my good strike out pitcher attack their weak link, cold, swinging at junk batter... so I can get that k or non advancing out... walk shaw and set up the gidp chance with a slow runner at 2nd who likely wont score on most singles. I don't want the weak batter moving the runner... from how he's been lately... I'd think his best chance to do that was bunt. I don't doubt blind stats say thats wrong. It absolutely worked horrifically. But there have been a number of decisions made sunday on that I've been disgusted with. This choice makes sense in this situation. I can't see any logic in having perez hit. We had no baserunning sub unless we subbed in a pitcher. The other choice was lift him for aguilar and move thanes to left for the 9th... which is defensive backwards.
  16. You did no wrong... whatever you want to believe. It is a fact that the numbers you thump as a bible do not in any way account for batters at the plate, on deck etc. (Ie your accomplished bunter or not, batter history with said pitcher, currently hot cold or high k rate batter/pitcher) Do not account for speed on the basepaths. Do they even account for inning and score? Why do you think that is good enough to use as the end all be all? At least I said bunt before it happened... you called it stupid after it failed. I understand its niave to think any major league hitter should be able to lay down an acceptable bunt but the look of it says shaw with a guy on 3rd 1 out is a good bet. Santana with men at the corners 1 down is a good bet... especially in a tie game, in the top of 9... on the road, with an upper level closer.
  17. And talking down to people is allowed? You are sitting on a number based situation blind high horse and acting like those numbers make you right. Thats as foolish as a coach in the nfl going for 2 because they are up 5 in the 1st quarter. Numbers say you go for the 7 point lead. I said what I said vecause its clear to anyone reading that's exactly how you were acting. You call it name calling, you acted that way... i pointed it out. You want to be the guy who takes a low blow and then cries for a flag after getting shoved... be my guest.
  18. Ok you dont need to be a snide numbers only ass. Bunting a guy over has little to do with speed. No decently placed bunt leaves enough time to throw to 3rd with any jump by a guy on 2nd. Perez bunted horribly. As far as scoring on the sac fly... better chance of him scoring on a sac fly than from 2nd on a single. No chance he doesn't score on a single at 3rd. Not to mention its shaw... or santana after a walk... good guy to have up. But hey be a jerk because you have numbers that dont factor in situation. Never bunt and watch this team keep stranding dudes. Numbers say so. Edit... perez has been hot lately right... hes not a huge k risk right?
