  1. And that's a 4th HR for Grisham at AAA. 10 HRs in June. 14k. 25 BB/IBB. Makes Monte Harrison's explosion in 2017 look average.
  2. That FB... middle 3rd tier. That's the highest you swing at Hiura. Just missed that one.
  3. Gamel there by a mile... and can't hold up. Coulda had a guy on 3rd.
  4. There's clearly 2 weaknesses to Hiura. He's shown us both already today.
  5. Burnes Nelson Peralta (as a starter) Chacin have been problematic. You got to find something that sticks. Low 4 era sticks. Wilkerson has been a starter forever. He has always struggled in relief and always been good as a starter. He's absolutely a AAAA guy. He's not going to set the world on fire. However, he could be a Fiers.
  6. I'm not sure Wilkerson is trash as much as he's off kilter. He's done a really solid job when he was promoted into a stint, but the longer he was kept up but not in a starters role he's fallen apart. He really hasn't been given a chance to do what he's succeeded at in the minors. With the situation the team is in I'd like to see what happened if you kept him on schedule and let him start every 5. He's not impressive but he could put up 4 era ball. He's only been giving 3 starts. He's pitched 14.1 IP in them allowing 6 ER for a 3.77 era. Sample size obviously but 9.42 out of the pen is a pretty stark contrast.
  7. Diaz has had a phenomenal season in AAA so far. He deserves it. He's well on his way to being a top 100 again. At least Brinson is floundering. You don't want the team you traded with to go 4 for 4.
  8. If Chacin struggles tonight I hope they get Wilkerson some work and swap the 2 the next turn.
  9. It's a shame. The problem is that we had about 4 of him ripping it up in AAA. Saladino Spang Dubon are the same type of guy. Orf is pretty close. If it didn't happen now, its wasn't going to be much longer.
  10. I want Woodruff Davies Anderson Houser Wilkerson In the rotation right now. Waiting on Gio. Hader Jeffress Peralta is the top trio Guerra Albers is next Claudio (unless LHB, then he's good) Chacin (trying to embrace his inner Guerra) Burch Smith as our garbage man. Corbin has no business being in the pen. He's hasn't been good on the MLB level and he needs to be starting in AAA.
  11. My thought when I read it. WT... are they doing with Cain in the 4 and Hiura in the 6.
  12. But do you shove talent into a need (where he's not succeeding) or play the long game. I play the long game on Burnes. Peralta Hader there is reason to point to the pen. 1 success 2 pitch mix. Burnes there is no reason to put him in the pen but a short term need for bodies.
  13. I still have high hopes for Shaw but he has been brutal all year. Injuy or not he's been brutal. Hiura earned his way up. Shaw earned his way down. There was zero reason to bring him off the AAA roster when they did. You could have activated him off IL, swapped down a pitcher, sent shaw right back down and a shuttle arm up. He hasn't proven to be the best bat in AAA. He struggled there too. We all know the Shaw we want would destroy AAA. 1000 ops destroy AAA. The team has hopes too high to be loyal to anyone. Hiura was producing. Shaw was not. So much so that he wasn't outperforming not only Moose and Hiura, but Thames and rivaled Aguilar. Go tear up AAA to the tune of 1000 like Spangs Orf Dubon Saladino can't... then he's ready to return. The thought that MKE doesn't have the option of sending down Shaw is correct 90% of the time. This time fell in that 10%. Hiura Moose Arica Thames did the lifting.
  14. I've read that Burnes won't be stretched back out this year. He's a reliever the rest of the year. This I hate. Burnes isn't ready for any part of the rotation if we are trying to contend. Right now, while being a playoff team we don't look like a contending team because this staff is struggling mightily. That being said, Burnes is a starter. We did this with Woodruff 2 year ago. Brought him up, assumed he was ready, he wasn't quite ready. 2018 he worked in the minors. 2019 was his year. I feel like Burnes is the same kind of situation. 2019 is not the year, its 2021. He doesn't get there by throwing out of the pen. He's got a starters mix, he got a taste of the MLB, now let him figure out how to pitch there. Frankly, the way this season is going... He should be starting somewhere. The majors isn't going to be fruitful, but he certainly shouldn't be in the MLB in the pen. When are they actually going to let Wilkerson START. We know Peralta has the struggle with starting but is filthy out of the pen. Wilkerson has been the opposite. He's comfortable starting. Being in the 5 day rhythm. He's proven worthless as a long man. Let him start or move on.
  15. Yup, the velocities looked off. Every single one. It's a shame. Will be interesting to see how he tries to carve out a career from here. He's had a long road back and he's still not back. The welcome back tweet where he said something to the effect of, no matter the results, didn't have a good ring to it. Like, he doesn't trust his stuff/arm yet.
  16. That's probably what they will do... Arcia and Cain/Gamel could swap. They are too nostalgic about Braun. I'd prefer the 900+ OPS guys 2-3-4 but what can you do. This is the year we squeak ourselves out of the playoffs before 2020 is our year. Follow the Astros. Oxy's 1b lead off gains more traction all the time too but then Braun would sit 3 hole ahead of Moose Grandal Hiura Which is dumb.
  17. Funny but that's what I do when I get yelled at for saying something right and it proves itself right. You can find an example of that in the MiLB forum where I said pump the breaks on a prospect then got yelled at for being stupid.
  18. Think about this. Was Jordan Yamamoto a valued prospect at the time? No. So you sold a good prospect as a throw in. Is that good value managment? No. It's not about who you got. It's about when you sold and for what value you sold at. Brinson has established value. Harrison was at a sell high point. Diaz concerned me most of the 3 because his stock had fallen despite him having incredible upside in the middle infield. Yamamoto was a throw in, and the wrong one. I doubt Mia bought high on Yamamoto like they did on Brinson and Harrison. It still doesn't make it a bad trade. It makes him the wrong filler piece to include. If MIA demanded him as part of the deal then fine. If he was a value filler throw in, that was a mistake.
  19. It's not a dig, it's showing the truth. With Yamamoto doing well with Miami, he's on here telling everyone how he proclaimed Yamamoto was the piece that terrified him at the thought of losing when the Yelich trade was made. He said nothing of the sort. In general, everyone here should rest comfortably that the trade was a slam dunk, a home run. Even if all 4 Marlins end up contributing as major leaguers, we don't need people being revisionist about the deal. The Brewers got more than they possibly could have asked for. It's actually quite astonishing given what Yelich has accomplished that people are still looking back in fear at what was given up. Strange you'd feel that's the best use of your time though. It's strange that my words weren't stronger on Yamamoto then. I didn't like including a lottery ticket arm who looked promising. Lottery tickets don't have high value and they can end up with them. Peralta stuff heading out concerns me for that very reason. Every time. I know I didn't want the big name pitching prospects included for sure but I thought I put up more of a fight about Yamamoto. I was looking at Yamamoto as a piece of concern even before he took the mound in AA this year. You can find posts on that I'm sure but I'm too lazy to do it. I never expected to see him in the majors yet that's for sure. So its strange I didn't say more at the time. I don't like adding deep minors promising lottery tickets. Lind hammered that home. Carmona was another one I was nervous about. Trading matured value gets you the proper value. Adding in young guys who show promise don't have the service time to prove their worth. If you think I'm trying to look like I know more than I do, you're being a bit too cynical here. Did I expect Yamamoto to do what he's done this year... hell no. I didn't like his inclusion. Didn't like it before this year started in AA. His 68 scattered innings in 2018 didn't change my mind.
  20. Jordan Yamamoto was the piece of this deal that terrified me. I continue to hate that inclusion. He was a lesser piece in the deal who could end up being worth much more than he was at the time. So far, yikes.
  21. I actually boycotted until he came back. Never streamed the game... never posted here.
  22. Cains not right though. Not strict on Cain, sure wish Braun would play 1b again. RHP Hiura Yelich Grandal Moose Braun Thames Arica P Gamel LHP Hiura Yelich Grandal Moose Braun Aguilar Arica P Cain
