  1. The Dodgers have won a lot of games as a team, and typically they have scored for Gonsolin. In 10 of his 14 wins the Dodgers scored 5 or more runs.
  2. At 25 years old, and that he’s seen time in 5 consecutive seasons, Urias in 2022 is likely at or near his ceiling. He’s an okay player and likely will stick at 3B until they find someone better but given the wealth of middle infielders the Brewers have drafted lately Urias could also be trade material.

  4. It’s funny, that game totally sucked until the last half inning.
  5. You know Urias is going to K or hit a double play ball
  6. For who? One of the other low OBP strike out kings?
  7. Here we go. Throw a 81 MPH batting practice pitch to Turner and fall behind Freeman
  8. Man, Tyrone Taylor is the epitome of just a guy.
  9. Why Taylor here? Isn’t Hiura the big homer threat against right handers or are they already playing for extras?
  10. He’s got an ERA of 5 but yeah. Hitting 97 mph is pretty good. He didn’t throw that hard in his 2 games with the Brewers.
  11. Pepiot is yet another nice pitching prospect the Dodgers have. 3rd round pick out of college in ‘19. No minor league season in 2020 and yet here he is in the big leagues a year and a half and just 200 minor league innings later. That’s why the Dodgers are Goliath in the NL. Hopefully the Brewers don’t help him out by swinging away recklessly.
  12. An interesting note: Taylor Rogers was an All-Star last season in Minnesota. IP: 40.1, 38H, 4HR, 10BB, 59K Taylor Rogers in 2022 despite being removed as the Padres closer, and a rough start as a Brewer: IP: 45, 43H, 3HR, 12BB, 55K. He's been allowing approximately the same amount of hits and walks as last year, and has kept the ball in the park better this year than last. Seems like a guy who is still a quality pitcher but has really just run into some poor luck this year.
  13. First of all, the Brewers have access to the doctors treating Yelich and his medical records, fans don't. Second, the Brewers have access to Yelich in the off-season and could observe how he looks in whatever rehabilitation he had to do, running, hitting, etc., fans don't. Third, the Brewers coaching staff, doctors, and front office personnel saw him in spring training before he signed the extension, I think its logical to believe they were confident in Yelich's long-term health when he signed his extension and with nearly two hundred million dollars of the owner's money at stake, were simply not taking a guess that he'd be fully recovered from a knee cap fracture. As to any complaints about the timing of the extension given Yelich had years remaining on his contract when the extension was signed, keep in mind it takes two to tango. For all we know as fans, Yelich told the Brewers "it's now or never" on a contract extension. Who knows? I can tell you if Yelich had continued to crush as a Brewer and walked as a free agent, there would be a percentage of fans calling the GM an idiot for letting him walk that is equal to the percentage that are critical of the extension. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
  14. Right! Everybody remembers the botched onside kick that cost the Packers the NFC title game in 2014, but hardly anyone recalls if they don’t get burned for a touchdown on a fake field goal the onside kick wouldn’t have mattered.
  15. Jeff Levering has always been a bozo, and Josh Mauer is on that trajectory. Bill Schroeder is boring, and yeah, seems to be coasting. Lane Grindle is not really indistinguishable from Levering or Mauer
  16. Don’t forget 538 had Hillary at an almost lock to win.
  17. Nope, it's just reality. I acknowledge there's a reason they play the games, anything can happen. However, you can potentially get $320 on a winning $100 bet in Vegas right now on the Brewers making the post season.
  18. The '22 Brewers are only afloat because of the poor quality of their Division. They'd be 4th in the NL East, 3rd in the NL West, and 3rd in the AL West. The Brewers are 9th in runs scored and 8th in runs allowed. Their record against non-losing teams in the NL is 18-25. Now given they're 1.5 games behind St. Louis, and the Cardinals have the easier schedule the rest of the way tells you the Brewers are pretty much cooked. Maybe Goldschmidt and Wainwright get hurt, or Yelich and Adames get white hot, but absent those type of events I'd put the Brewers post season chances this year at slim to none.
  19. If you trade Burnes or Woodruff there is no reason to keep anyone who is already in arbitration. Those player will not be part of the next good Brewers team; so in such a scenario they should also move on from : the other Burnes or Woodruff, Renfroe, Adames, Urias, Houser, Lauer, Caratini, Bush, and Gott.
  20. If you’re afraid to let a good player walk as a free agent, you may as well tear it down to the studs and start over. If you trade Burnes due to the rationale his value goes down the longer you keep him. He’s a top 5 pitcher in the NL and maybe even in MLB. By that same logic then there is no reason to keep anyone else who has 4 years of service time without a multiyear extension in place.
  21. My recollection is that Jaha was hurt all the time. Then, much like Cal Eldred, immediately after going to a new team he stayed healthy and was terrific, until injuries got him again.
  22. Being 1.5 games back with 4 games remaining against the Cardinals isn't great, With 7 of the Brewers next ten games being against the Dodgers, while the Cardinals next 10 games are all against teams on pace lose 90 games certainly suggests they could be finished before the calendar hits Labor Day. However, like adambr2 said, they have no other choice but to see what happens in the next two weeks. Sometimes teams get lucky.
