  1. What does that even mean? David Stearns doesn’t have a bunch of World Series rings where he can be a Maverick. He’s doing everything he can to win with the Brewers because that’s his job, anything less for a guy like him is career suicide.
  2. Suter throws with his left hand, that gives him an edge.
  3. Regardless of what Bush does he likely gets non-tendered after the season. The Brewers already have Boxberger with a club option, Gott, Williams, Suter and Milner arbitration eligible. They have Cousins and Topa coming back both pre-arbitration eligible. There’s only so many beans to go around, and 37 year old with trouble staying healthy is probably the odd man out.
  4. Exactly! Scouts likely share info with journalists such as a players breaking pitches are major league caliber or another player’s swing is too long. Scouts would not share “I think player A is the best one they have followed closely by Player B and then C.”
  5. Scouts don’t put together prospect ranking. Those are made by journalists and website content creators.
  6. Read his tweet carefully, sounds like the Brewers organization is paying his medical bills and rehab (I thinks it’s illegal not to). He is upset he got cut on the date of his surgery, and that the union allows injured minor league players to be released. He’s not in their plans now, or in the future so they released him, they don’t owe him anything. Sucks he tore his UCL while in the minors, otherwise he’d be on the big league DL with different rules and probably not get released until after the season.
  7. Luke Barker apparently does t realize professional sports are a cut throat business.
  8. It is funny though, salary was a driving force in the trade of Hader in the first place and in the wake of that move the Brewers eat the contracts of Lamet, Severino and are paying Rosenthal who may or may not ever pitch for them.
  9. Say what you will about the moves Stearns made at the deadline, but he sure does look like a buffoon with how he managed the roster. Hanging on to three catchers through the deadline then DFA’ing one, trading for a pitcher, activating him then DFA’ing him the next day.
  10. I was being facetious. Although given the Narvaez injury they should have DFA’d Hiura instead of Severino
  11. Blow it up, get them Top 100 prospects for Burnes, Woodruff and Adames. Plug Keston into the clean up spot everyday!!
  12. Yasmani Grandal got 4 years and 73 million dollars at age 31, somebody will give Contreras that kind of money regardless of the QO. I hope its Chicago or St. Louis.
  13. Bingo. He's a 32 year old 1B with a career sub .800 OPS, dime a dozen.
  14. As for not adding a bat, the Brewers did move Wiemer, Frelick and Mitchell to AAA along with Ruiz. Seems to me, over the next couple of weeks they will see if any member of that quartet gets hot and likely 1 if not 2 of them will be in Milwaukee for the stretch run in September
  15. It's a funny meme for sure and a funny situation trading for a player who may never pitch, but it's not my money so what do I care? As for Peters, he was a 7th round pick who they signed for under slot value at $147,500. In the last 20 years the Brewers have had 2 players drafted in the 7th round who became regulars at the major league level: Michael Brantley '05 and Khris Davis '09. Other 7th rounders in the last 20 years: David Goforth '11 who saw the major leagues briefly, and Tom Wilhelmsen who was a Brewers 7th rounder in '02 and eventually made the majors several years after being released by the Brewers and being out of organized baseball. If Tristan Peters ends up becoming a major league regular, good for him and San Francisco, but right now in 2022 he's a player where the odds are already stacked against him. I have no issues with the Brewers playing the percentages and dealing a player like that from their system.
  16. I hope they resign Contreras, the track record for 30 year old catchers getting extensions is awful.
  17. Wiemer just moved up to AAA and has a shot to play in Milwaukee this year. Teams don’t move those type of players at the deadline. The other teams in MLB aren’t stupid either. They know Ethan Small can’t command his stuff against AAA hitters and have the video tape of his MLB starts. Players aren’t traded on pedigree. I don’t think you can call Attanasio cheap, they did take a 5 million dollar gamble on Rosenthal as well as another multi-million dollar gamble on Lamet. Also, Stearns isn’t stupid, he’s knows what he’s got better than any of us, and fair to say didn’t view upgrades to what he has as worth the price. Time will tell if he’s right or wrong on that.
  18. They have more talent on the 26 man than they did Sunday, so I guess it was okay. But the Dodgers, Padres and Mets arguably had more talent than Milwaukee Sunday and they didn’t close that gap. As for Rosenthal, he’s good when he’s healthy but he’s never healthy. I’d be surprised if Peter’s becomes a player in the majors so it’s kind of a push
  19. The Cardinals were a mediocre team in 2011, traded for some bullpen arms and rode them to a title so who knows?
  20. It’s probably just taking the 4.5 million dollar contract off their hands if he’s weeks away and they’re breaking up their team for this year.
  21. The Giants did give him a 4.5 million dollar guarantee
  22. He’s pitched a grand total of 38 innings since 2017
  23. They tried to get Trevor Rosenthal once before.
  24. Yes, haha freudian slip/mistake
