  1. I was wondering why if Chad Patrick can hit 95 mph he wasn’t more of a prospect, but now I see he fights his command and misses over the plate. He’s getting lucky so far
  2. Yeah, projections are interesting but not really lla definitive way to declare who’s best based on what an algorithm thinks will happen. Sure, Im taking Skenes over anyone on Milwaukee, probably Imanaga too. But the Brewers preferred SP over Abbott, Greene, Lodolo, Singer, and Nick Martinez in Cincinnati, the Brewers are certainly more proven. Is anybody taking Imanaga, Steele, Boyd, Taillon and Ben Brown over Milwaukee? I’m wouldn’t.
  3. It’s also AAA where there isn’t an Ohtani, Arenado, Kyle Tucker etc. If he’s walking 5+ per 9 in AAA; it’s not magically going to drop in the majors where hitters are typically much more selective. Ethan Small walked 4.4/9 in the minors and that number doubled in the major leagues.
  4. For real? He’s a marquee player, and one of faces of the franchise, taking a mental health break when the team is struggling at the outset? It would be a stunning lack of leadership by Murphy and Chourio.
  5. It wouldn’t seem so bleak if their big bats (Chourio, Yelich, Hoskins and Contreras) hadn’t collectively started the season 8 for 55 (.145) with 2 doubles, zero homeruns and 23 strike outs.
  6. Seriously? Misiorowski doesn’t know where the pitch is going when it leaves his hand, until he learns to consistently command his stuff, he’s not a major league caliber pitcher. If the injuries reached a level where Misiorowski was their best option, it would mean the season is already lost. In that case they’d probably still go with someone else out of service time considerations.
  7. As they say: Put up or shut up. Knock the Brewers rotation if you will but throw out the starting 5 on another NL Central club that’s better top to bottom.
  8. Peralta, Cortes, Civale, Myers, Quintana, Woodruff. Four of the six have been All Stars, only Civale (4.08) has a career ERA above 4.00 Name another team in the NL Central with better SP that is six deep. Injuries happen, maybe they’re snake bit this year and will be buried in the standings by summer, but it won’t be for lack of talent on the roster.
  9. The Brewers have the most talented rotation in the NL Central, it’s just most of it is on the IL right now.
  10. Jake Bauers probably looking at 2 more innings on his pitching resume
  11. I find it laughable the player Rickie Weeks refused to play left field when asked to do so to help the team, is now in a position of “leadership” with the same team.
  12. If they’re not going to pitch, at least have a couple guys get hot with the bats. This hasn’t even been fun to follow so far this year.
  13. Not at all, but your argument is flawed: essentially “they owe me something because tax dollars support them” . Maybe indirectly, but tax revenue certainly is notgoing to sign players on the field or for baseball operations. But I get it, you think teams are public trusts. You’re certainly not alone in that thought.
  14. Man with Civale to the IL, the Brewers are going to have to demonstrate some resilience early or they might be finished before Mother’s Day due to lack of starting pitchers.
  15. To be accurate the stadiums they lease are supported by tax dollars not the teams themselves. Otherwise yes your mind seems pretty made up on this one .
  16. What responsibility do they have to fans? I’m willing to bet you don’t view that responsibility as mutual. Meaning if it was an inconvenience or hardship to attend a game you’d still find a way to buy tickets and beer because you owe it to the owner to support him when he is doing all he can to win. It's foolish to think team owners "owe" fans anything because at the end of the day, their primary obligation is to their investment, not to the emotions of the fanbase. A fan might love the team, but the owner is running a business. When a team spends big, it’s not out of obligation—it’s because it aligns with their interests. That is true across all teams.
  17. You really think Bando would let a player of Molitor’s stature walk without the owner okaying it first? It was Selig who hired Bando and kept him in the GM role for nearly a decade despite the lack of success on the field and dearth of minor league talent. It was Selig who made his daughter Board President and CEO when her qualifications alone would not have made her an obvious choice to run an MLB team. Again, there’s zero chance an inexperienced Nepotism CEO runs a team (into the ground) without consulting her father for advice. Selig brought Major League Baseball back to Milwaukee then nearly destroyed it, before cashing in his chips and hitting the exit.
  18. I see that you’re trying to knock Attanasio but there’s no way to argue that he has been anything other than a terrific owner when compared to Bud Selig. Attanasio has had 6 (!) losing seasons in his 20 seasons as owner. That includes the first couple seasons of his ownership with the moribund group of players he inherited from Selig. By contrast, Bud never even tried to win after ‘92, and further bludgeoned his fan base into apathy by hiring poor GMs like Sal Bando and Dean Taylor who bottomed out the entire organization.
  19. I can only conclude you weren’t around for the 90s and early 00s. Usually with those teams the talent was so lacking, , every player could have a played the entire season to the best of their capabilities, and get every break during the season and they still would have been irrelevant in the standings.
  20. Attanasio is still the Managing Partner at Crescent Capital. That’s his bread and butter. I’d imagine he’d have to retire from the hedge fund he founded to be Commissioner which would be a huge ask. On the other hand, having a Commissioner uniquely attuned to the challenges facing the small market clubs, would probably be a net positive for Milwaukee. Finally, Selig ran the Brewers into the ground not because he was distracted by his duties as commissioner, it’s that he cut the budget to the bone and put his friends and family in charge of the team with little to no qualifications then stuck with them as they ran the team into the ground.
  21. There is no safety issue at first base. Imagine how many close putouts are there at first base in a MLB season? Hundreds if not thousands. Now how many “collisions” are there at first base where someone is hurt? It would be a fraction of a percent of the close putouts at first base. MLB is already a craven organization changing the way their game has been played for over a century because of what the content generators and blowhards on TV say. Maybe next they should let the whole lineup bat each inning so nobody feels left out.
  22. Well, Canha has gone 1100 PAs since his last triple. If you got a hunch you probably can get great odds on a bet.
  23. Drew Pomeranz was released by the Mariners. Amazing to think that he’s only pitched 45 big league innings since he left the Brewers. Still chasing one more shot at the majors at 36 and with career earnings of more than 50 million dollars.
  24. They’ve played for 130 years with one first base, if it isn’t broke there’s no need to fix it. The ban on sliding into second to break up a double play is stupid enough (MLB seemingly can’t help itself when it comes to knee jerk reactions). This would be another rule change for “safety’s sake” where there really isn’t a pervasive safety issue to begin with.
  25. The Rangers placed Dane Dunning on waivers. Would fit a perfect need with Milwaukee can start or give length from the bullpen and even controllable through 26. The question is if he would make it that far on waivers
