Streaky guys are gonna be streaky. Unfortunately, the Brewers don't really have much of a choice but to play him right now. Just remember, Rowdy wouldn't be here if Hiura wasn't absolute crap.
The Brewers are 9-10 in Anderson's 19 starts this season prior to today. I mean, I get being frustrated with Anderson. But him not giving the team a chance to win is not a good argument.
Welp ... if you would have told me on Monday that the Brewers would take 2 of 3 from the Reds, I would have been happy. So it's tough to get too upset about this one. It would be nice to see the offense put up even a little bit of a fight, though. I mean, Sonny Gray is not having a great season.
The lack of patience from Brewer bats today is going to give Gray a chance to go the distance. Can't beat up a terrible pen if you don't get to them, guys.
This naggy crap is kind of the story of his career. Never enough to put him on the DL, but it constantly leads to short starts. It's getting frustrating.
Par for the course in this series. They are going to have to start making throw a few more pitches if they have hopes of cashing in on that crappy Reds bullpen yet again, though.
Yes. For reference, go check out those starting rotations from the 1998 and 1999 teams. Anderson's 4-ish ERA would have put him square at the top of those Scott Karl-led rotations.
Sadly, his best contributions are the games that he does not touch a bat... Even when that means he is on the bench. Pretty sure that's exactly why he called it "the uncanniest of predictions" and said he has "a strange feeling". I've learned to expect the unexpected with this team, though.
Do I need to apologize for getting greedy? Taking the first two of this series was a sucker punch to the Reds' division hopes, but winning today would be a full-on curb stomping. How about one of those out-of-nowhere 7-inning, 1 ER starts from Anderson today?
Avi is up to an .853 OPS. Approaching the near star-level .886 he put up for the 2017 White Sox. I knew he was much better than what he showed last year, but he is exceeding my expectations.
Yeah, at this point I think Reds fans are going to be following a lot more Padres games than Brewers games over the next 5 weeks. Redszone is apoplectic. Basically the Brewers are cheating because we have good pitchers and a bunch more sour grapes drivel. And people wonder why I don't like the Reds. That fanbase is so obnoxious. I don't know if its Cubs fan-level, but it's closer than it should be.
That’s not how this works. Oh, so he doesn't get a save. After pitching 19 innings, Cousins gave up his first ER, pretty amazing run for any pitcher especially a rookie. No, a pitcher cannot give up a run to give themselves a save situation.
