  1. Is this even an option? Is there any way to trick MLBTV into thinking you are in a different location than you actually are? I guess I'm not tech savvy enough to know if this is a legit option. If it is, I'm all ears if someone can explain how to do it. From what I understand, you used to be able to trick MLB TV with a VPN, but they have since wised up and block all users with a VPN operating.
  2. Yet another easy reason to lift blackout restrictions. What an antiquated way of doing business. If I could get Brewer games, I would order MLB TV tomorrow.
  3. I doubt it, especially after seeing what a disaster Le'veon Bell's career turned into after going that route.
  4. I really like the idea of a tag-and-trade as a result. I think you'd find immense value in moving a productive RB on that type of contract to another team. This is the direction I think they will go, and I've thought that for awhile. The revelation that the tag value will likely be lower solidifies the idea.
  5. The last update I could find on him was that he was throwing live batting practice in Spring Training a year ago. I would assume he is still Brewers property, and will be reporting when the lower-level minor leaguers go to Arizona next month.
  6. I think most are just assuming the worst because it's been proven time and time again that Sinclair is an absolutely horrible company. I have absolutely no faith that anyone who doesn't have a local cable contract will be able to watch the Brewers this year ... and it's probably just a matter of time before Sinclair pulls the station from the Spectrums and AT&Ts of the world too.
  7. I think Gyorko still makes a lot of sense for this team. You can do a straight Shaw/Gyorko platoon to start, and both those guys are also good at 1B, which provides insurance for Hiura. Both can also play 2B. I wonder if they think Robertson could be younger (and cheaper) version of Gyorko?
  8. I'm wondering if shutting down our pipeline will have any effect on gas prices. It seems if we are going to rely solely on other countries for gas, prices have to continue to rise? Nearly all gasoline consumed in the US is produced in the US. It is made from crude oil that is both imported and domestically produced. I'm not real sure what you are talking about.
  9. Because that "baggage" is a few Twitter posts from when he was 17 and in high school. He has owned it, addressed it with his teammates, apologized, and they have accepted his apology. It is a complete nothingburger ... simply something that fans in an opposing team's fanbase bring up as a knock against Hader in order to lessen the price that would be going back to the Brewers in their minds.
  10. Also things are no longer nearly as locked down as they were for the majority of 2020, and people are beginning to travel more. As demand increases, prices rise.
  11. Dude better go visit the equipment man and get some pants that fit. He looks like a toddler trying on daddy's clothes.
  12. Guessing it has something to do with the freak winter storm in Texas.
  13. Probably not going to be a Brewer, then, unless that "next step" doesn't materialize. Stearns tends to set a value on players, and doesn't exceed it. I don't know if he's ever gotten in a bidding war over a player.
  14. It appears there might be some regret on Counsell's part with their decision to let Shaw go to begin with. Obvious hindsight, but his pedestrian results with the Blue Jays last year were still significantly better than what the Brewers got from the 3B position in 2020, especially after Gyorko started playing 1B nearly on a full time basis. I hope there's no regret. He was putrid before the Brewers released him and then not very good last year. I think there's some obvious hindsight in Counsell's quote. Yeah, Shaw wasn't very good in 2020. But the Brewers' productivity at 3B was downright putrid.
  15. It appears there might be some regret on Counsell's part with their decision to let Shaw go to begin with. 16. Every team has varying levels of interest in every free agent. Since he has gone unsigned for so long, perhaps Bradley’s desired contract parameters are mow more fluid, where a team like Milwaukee is now interested. Most of these leaks are from agents to media to stir the pot. I don’t think the mere passing of time makes a contract with Milwaukee more or less likely (although we have seen this pattern before with Darvish, Turner, etc). I think the point is, at least with the players the Brewers have successfully signed, their interest was only leaked very late in the process, sometimes only minutes before the deal was confirmed. This isn't exactly new, as the Brewers are seemingly very good at keeping negotiations under wraps. So if the supposed interest in Bradley follows those same lines, it would stand to reason that the Brewers' interest may be overstated in this case.
  17. Where I'm at as well. It is reassuring to know that the Brewers are still looking at potential upgrades, though, even if/when they don't work out. I was starting to wonder as the doldrums of December/January were setting in. I guess we are seeing now that February is Stearns time.
  18. I think it's a little bigger than "his defense is in question", though. Andujar is an atrocious defender. I know that the DH will eventually be adopted in the NL, but the Brewers have to be careful how many "bat first, no D" type players they acquire. Hiura is moving to 1B, but his long-term spot is probably DH. Yelich already doesn't have a great arm in the OF, so he might be a DH in waiting as well.
  19. I don't disagree with you. But they are somehow going to have to come from what is already available. The easiest solution is hoping that Garcia and Narvaez rebound. If that doesn't happen, the next hope (albeit much less likely) is probably Urias or Robertson becoming a legit threat with the bat, or Shaw somehow finding his 2017 form. If none of that happens, we better hope the team pitches well and can play defense, because the offense is going to again be inconsistent. It sort of appears that is the Brewers' thought as well.
  20. Like who? I would like to see Stearns make a blockbuster offer to the A's for Matt Chapman. LOL so would everyone
  21. I would assume that if something isn't announced by late this afternoon/tonight, then he won't be a Brewer. That's been the Brewers' modus operandi this offseason.
  22. I think that's just Rotoworld attempting to connect dots. "Drrr ... Brewers are a small market, so they have no money. Lorenzo Cain makes a lot of money. They should trade Cain to the Metssss!!!!!"
  23. Thats all well and good but where is the offense coming from. Other than Yelich and Hiura all I see is huge question marks all over the diamond in regards to hitting. Offense has fluctuated from inconsistent to downright trash the last couple seasons. I think they are targeting defense and offensive consistency, rather than a continued all or nothing approach that just hasn't worked. Guys like Wong and Bradley are not going to be world beaters on offense, but they aren't prone to huge offensive slumps either
  24. Biggest needs this off-season were unarguably 1B and 3B, so what does Stearns go after? A 2B, a high end reliever and a CF. The guy just continues to zag when everyone is thinking zig.
  25. You continue to say this. Who? Who do you want them to target?
