  1. I really want Urias to eventually be this team's everyday SS, but Arcia continues to play not terrible, which for him is an improvement. Such a weird season.
  2. Are you speaking in general, because both Yelich and Garcia just had fine at-bats that turned into walks. Of course. Then again Smoak whiffed looking. LOL well, that's not swinging and missing either I suppose. It seems like the Brewers are having a really tough time with the larger strike zone this year. Lots of wild swings at pitches outside the zone, and a lot of backwards Ks too.

  4. I don't think two singles and double is really "manufactured runs". Any runs this team scores not via a long ball is a manufactured run.
  5. I mean both sides have some merit, sure. But it’s pretty easy to look at his numbers and see that he is elite relieving. As a starter? Just a guy. Unfortunately Burnes and Peralta have profiled that way as well. Brewers need two of those three to develop into competent starters.
  6. Houser's location was terrible. You could see Counsell was pretty animated while talking to him. Hopefully Houser settles in and they can get 5-6 out of him today.
  7. The Brewers are. I doubt they care what you think. He's got 1,000 MLB at-bats saying he doesn't, but yeah, let's call it based on 18 games in a brand new league (to him), while trying to learn a new staff, during the weirdest season in MLB history.
  8. Many of the team's top prospects have been traded off the last few seasons to keep those teams in contention. The state of the system right now is the price you pay for that.
  9. Based off of 17 games in the wierdest season perhaps in MLB's history? Uh yeah, he gets a mulligan. Some head scratching moves this offseason, but at least the majority of them are short-term.
  10. Because why wouldn't the Corbin Burnes Frustration Tour continue?
  11. It's going to be Urias in a pinch hit appearance, and the board will then implode
  12. Do no-hitters thrown in this crazy weird mini-season come with an asterisk too?
  13. When you really think about it, it probably isn't hard to believe the first one, either.
  14. Pitching tonight would line him up to take Lauer's spot in the rotation, with the upcoming off day Monday on the horizon.
  15. He managed to not crap the bed after looking like it might happen the first couple innings. Still, two straight relatively short starts by our two lefties in the rotation isn't ideal.
  16. The same Shaw who no one around here wanted to give another shot to, when we had a Moustakas-sized hole at 3B this offseason?
  17. I've never been a big fan of platoons, but Counsell and Stearns have leaned into that idea in a big way this year. It's annoying. Platoons work when you have a ton of talented bench players like the Dodgers have. That's not what the Brewers have, though. As meh as it sounds, Gyorko should probably be taking the vast majority of the ABs at 3B. Urias at SS, Hiura at 2B. Get them in a routine. And Manny needs some games against right-handers. Narvaez stinks. He really doesn't, at least offensively. Determinations shouldn't be made on 17 games when a guy has over 1,000 at bats of solid offensive production. I mean, it's entirely possible that the adjustment to a new league he's never played in, on top of learning a whole new pitching staff, with a little COVID weirdness sprinkled in, may be playing a part in his slow start. He should get more of a mulligan.
