  1. It really does seem like you honestly hate watching the Bucks play. Why bother?
  2. I'd put Bundy's surplus value at about 16 million and Arcia's surplus value at about 0. Never know if there is some team out there that thinks they can fix him. I would imagine there is.
  3. Hernan Perez and Tyler Austin were both waived as well. And of course Jeffress was released toward the end of the season.
  4. I could see a Dom Smith for Peralta deal making sense for both sides.
  5. Exactly. There is still value and prospect pedigree there. There will be teams out there who will think they can fix his offense. You tender him, and if you believe that Urias is your SS, you look to deal Orlando. Perhaps for another “change of scenery” guy. I suggested Dylan Bundy in the rumors forum.
  6. I'm a big fan of the idea of trading for Dominic Smith. He really strikes me as a Brewer-type target. Former big time prospect who is blocked at the big league level. Won't be 25 until June. I would love to see this. Smoak is much less exciting of a target. If given the choice of Smoak as the near full-time 1B, or a platoon of Thames and Braun, I think I'd chose the latter. Of course, with the trade of Grisham, Braun is likely looking at logging the majority of his time in LF again, at least for now.
  7. He isn't a free agent, but rumor has it that the Orioles are trying to deal Dylan Bundy. And they just waived their starting SS yesterday in a cost-cutting move. I wonder if they would consider swapping Bundy for Arcia?
  8. Right on! It is November 28th!!! No one should even be thinking about panicking yet. Whole lotta offseason left.
  9. I mean, maybe. That injury history scares me, and I sort of think he's been overrated most of his career. I'm worried about the contract he's going to command.
  10. Ditto. I thought it was really cool that an agent posted here from time to time. Little bit of a different personality for sure, but still seemed like a decent enough guy.
  11. *cough*CC*cough* Yeah, a couple moves in a decade. I think that would qualify as rare. They flipped Bauer last year, which was considered big at the tie, even though he was terrible once he got to Cincy.
  12. No ... because it's Nov. 27. It would be an absolutely useless exercise. Right now the only sure thing for a rotation spot is Woodruff, with Lauer and Houser likely close to sure things. I don't think Freddy sniffs the rotation this year after everything is said and done.
  13. Davies frustrated the crap out of me...nibble, nibble, nibble(go to 3-0), then groove a fast(if you can call it that)ball and get tattooed. If he didn't have his control, he was useless, and that happened way too much...especially down the stretch this last year. I'm not sad to see him go, at all. Are you sure that you read DAVIES on the back of the pitcher you were watching? Because this really isn't true at all. You didn't like Davies because he didn't throw 98 MPH heat. Just admit it.
  14. Hasn't it kinda always been the Indians' M.O. to "listen" on everyone? Rarely do they make the big move, though.
  15. One fun note: Lauer was the Padres' opening day starter. He was terrific in spring training last year. It appears he typically sits at 92-93 with his fastball, but has touched 96 on occasion. https://www.fangraphs.com/pitchfxo.aspx?playerid=19316&position=P&statArr=&legend=1&split=base&time=daily&start=2018&end=2019&rtype=mult&gt1=15&dStatArray=FA&ymin=&ymax=
  16. If they don't keep Nelson, it's because they think he's done. I personally don't think they'll go that way, but I've already been surprised by multiple moves this offseason, so who knows?
  17. Same things can be said about Arcia. Rather have someone who's no fun in the clubhouse who can rake. Don't discount the importance of having a good clubhouse atmosphere. Last year's Mets and Phillies teams are prime examples of teams that apparently had a lot of drama. I agree, though, in hoping he can rake.
  18. The more I read on Urias, the more I LOVE this deal. Seems like a try-hard type guy who is great in the clubhouse. His teammates in SD adored him. Fun personality. He should be a great fit with the Brewers.
  19. Odd, and somewhat disappointing decision. Guerra was extremely useful in multiple roles for the Brewers, and was always effective in most of them. Gonna see a lot of turnover on the pitching staff in 2020 it appears.
  20. I want Faria to make the team and be a valuable contributor next season. In the end, this was a straight up one-for-one for two fringe guys. It would be cool to see the Brewers get the better end of it.
  21. That is closer money. Wonder if they are looking to go "Super Pen" route, or are considering finally dealing Yates?
  22. According to Robert Murray, the deal is 4 years, $8-9 million AAV. WOW! Good for Drew, but there was no way the Brewers were going there.
  23. Not necessarily. Yelich is obviously still left handed, as are Shaw and Gamel. Chances are they will sign a LHH 1st baseman, and I still think Moose stands a good chance of being back. Personally I want to see a lineup that isn't so lefty heavy. They really seemed to struggle against lefty pitching last year it seemed.
  24. I really liked Grisham, and have always been a huge Davies fan. He's always been under appreciated by this fanbase. That said ... WOW! David Stearns is good at his job. Urias is a legit young stud. Lauer is a young, very serviceable lefty that can be plugged right into the rotation. This is a dang good deal. I do wonder if the plan is for Urias to be the top bench guy capable of playing multiple positions, or if he is the future SS? Or maybe even future 2B, if they are dangling Hiura in a trade? I'm sure Stearns will shed light on that eventually.
