  1. At least he's trying to make the point but, nope. I think he's on the right track. Much closer than your take that Chris Hook is the new Dave Duncan. No where did anyone come close to saying this. Now you're just literally making things up to try to support a hollow argument. 82's argument isn't that Hook doesn't deserve some of the blame, just that he doesn't deserve ALL of it, as you are putting on him.
  2. I was having fun reading the responses. To think that a trivial position such as the pitching coach is actually more important than holding the actual players accountable for their own performance? It's pretty funny actually. Then you having the ego to claim that you "won" the argument? Heck, that is message board gold! Joey. The dog is very lonely man. Nah, this is more fun. Go on, declare yourself the winner again. That one actually made me laugh out loud.

  4. LOL ... you aren't "winning" anything. Great. Just who I need to weigh in Joey Gammons king of all baseball knowledge. Awesome. Now I know I'm right!! Wow! Your opinion of yourself is also apparently nauseatingly high.
  5. I don't care how they did it, grabbing a W like this is huge. This team has beat two tough teams two weeks in a row. Yeah, both had their ugly points. Whatever. I'll take any manner of win against the Bears and Vikings.
  6. He deserves credit for not letting things completely go down the drain I give you that but this is where we as fans can't be swayed by mediocrity. If you think this team can and should pitch better than you should be open to making a change. I am. I think the team has spoken pretty clearly on this. The releases of pitchers like Chacin and Jeffress that played such major roles last year were let go, not the pitching coach. Clearly the team thinks the pitchers failed to do their job, not Hook. Yep, spot on. Calling for coaching changes is an easy target, but anyone who watches the games is seeing that these guys are missing spots pretty consistently, and they are not talented enough arms to get away with that on a regular basis. That's the underlying issue. They caught lightning in a bottle last year with soft tossers like Chacin and Gio finding terrific command near the end of the season, along with their flamethrowers all getting hot at the same time. Things have been much more inconsistent this year, although I agree significantly better lately. I'm not sure how you could watch the last two weeks of games and not come away with the conclusion that the pitching has been better.
  7. Cubs and cardinals play 7 times yet. If the Brewers take care of their business, they are going to gain on somebody.
  8. Tom Haudricourt called the Brewers getting Lyles the “change of scenery move of the year.” A couple Cub fans argued saying it was Castellanos. Um, apparently those dummies don’t actually understand what the phrase “change of scenery” actually means. The whole reason the Cubs dealt for Castellanos is because he was playing well.
  9. I got in a Twitter argument a few days ago with someone who was trying to convince me that the Brewers were a terrible team based solely on run differential. Run differential truthers are the worst.
  10. "Nice catch, Hayes. Don't ever do it again." - Lou Brown
  11. This was his crazy attempt at reverse, reverse jinxes. He's a genius!
  12. Did you forget to put this in blue? I don't know why but to me the sarcasm is always better without the blue. It just takes the zing off of sarcasm when you literally tell everyone that you're being sarcastic. Yeah ... there are some statements that are so obvious that the blue font shouldn't be needed.
  13. YES! BALLGAME! I don't think the hugeness of this win can be understated.
  14. 3 runs? I this house of horrors? I don't think I trust any lead in this dump against this team.
  15. Because they have a 3 run lead, there's two outs, and a guy on 1st. And fortunately this team's manager isn't prone to panic as quick as some fans are. Well, to be honest, that could have went south quickly with Guerra on the mound. Having someone up in the pen is a completely normal situation for most teams in that situation. Goldschmidt and Ozuna at bat with a guy on first and this is a one run game, or tied up pretty damn quickly the way Guerra throws meatballs at times. It has burned him at times this year, but I respect the faith that Counsell has it this team's relievers.

  17. I partially agree with you. I don't have a problem with the way he plays. However, I also don't think he's an important piece for us. The beautiful plays he makes from time to time aren't enough to offset his many deficiencies. I think we've been more than patient and his time has come and gone and it's time to look in a different direction in the offseason. I think there is something to team chemistry. I believe he’s a big part of that. I wouldn’t mind giving him one more year to flip the switch as he’s just entering prime years but understand if they do move on. I will say the Brewers don’t have a great track record with moving middle infielders. Yep. To add to that, there really isn't anything in the minors that is waiting in the wings at SS, and the free agent market is pretty bare at the position as of right now.
  18. I'd just as soon hang a few more runs on the board, and save Hader for tomorrow.
