  1. Yep, he got a pinch hit single yesterday, and they removed him for Taylor Williams as a pinch runner. Tells me he isn't ready for full on running yet. But he can make a difference as a bat off the bench. I wouldn't rush him for fear of reaggravating the injury and losing him for the duration.
  2. Going to be tough for the Padres to set a lineup not knowing how far Woodruff will go. And piggybacking with Gio is also interesting, as you're following up Woody's righty power stuff with Gio's lefty finesse junk.
  3. Pretty decent mid-September acquisition. Obviously losing Yelich for the stretch run here hurts, but the rest of the team's key players are getting healthy at the right time. I imagine We'll see Hiura in the starting lineup soon as well. Obviously those guys aren't pitchers, but speaking moreso about the general health of the team.
  4. That is a flat out lie. You wanted Wilkerson up and starting in the worst way when he started out hot in spring at AAA, and got mad when other posters referred to him as a AAAA player. You were in love with him because he had command of all his pitches. I think you've made so many outlandish predictions that you have probably forgotten some of them. I remember this one especially, though, because you were so, so in love with the idea of having a "true pitcher" in the rotation.
  5. Black has way way way way better stuff than the 2 mental midgets that you just mentioned. Command. It’s that simple. Right? Go take a look at what Barnes did through around mid June last year and let me know how many years and how long of an extension you'd have given him? Simple, obvious, this guy had figured it out. He also throws 99 with a big slider, I'd pretty confidently say his slider bites more than Blacks. I think it's pretty obvious from BC92's takes that anything anyone did last year does not matter at all. Heck, we're lucky if anything someone did more than two weeks ago comes into play.
  6. Multiple aces, best 40 man depth by far, Brewers finanaces, Nelson to start opening day........... Perdomo, Devin Williams and Rasmussen bullpen studs, Aaron Wilkerson rotation stud, Zach Davies is horrible. The list is nearly endless at this point.
  7. I'm sure that is because much of their forecasts are based on run differential. That and Fangraphs sucks. 538 & BPro have us finishing 7-6. BRef, like FanGraphs, has us finishig 6.5-6.5. I guess all the projection systems suck? Yes, but that is based solely on emotion
  8. Black is out of options next year, so he'd be here to stay.
  9. Doesn’t matter. This is where the human being with common sense trumps the computer. Right? That's the difference between a projection and a prediction.
  10. But, these are not regular season games per-say, far from it. Burning desire to win trumps everything. We know from experience, teams that absolutely have to win vs teams that don’t, usually do win, I would argue at an unusually high rate. That’s why, with all other factors being equal the projection of the crew at 6.5 is asinine. I don't think you understand how projections and algorithms work. There is absolutely no way to measure "burning desire to win". I mean, you can argue that the algorithms are wrong, or something like run differential is skewing the data they are using to a much higher degree than it should be, but you aren't saying that at all here.
  11. I'm sure that is because much of their forecasts are based on run differential. That and Fangraphs sucks.
  12. I'd argue that Rizzo's importance to that lineup is close to on-par with Yelich's to the Brewers' lineup. Although Caratini is a fine fill-in at 1B, he isn't near what Rizzo brings to that group.
  13. Obviously it hasn't gone according to plan, but this is pretty much what everyone predicted coming into the year – a dogfight between the Brewers, Cubs and Cards for the division. There was some scuttle about the Pirates and Reds being involved, but they were always considered 2nd tier. It's funny how, despite so many posters here, national media and, really, some common sense telling us all year that this Brewers team wasn't any good, here we are.
  14. Yep, obviously yesterday's result is not ideal, but the command of his pitches was crap. He couldn't get his breaking ball over, and when you are forced to groove a FB, it doesn't matter how fast it is. I'm still optimistic about his chances of being a solid late inning pen option. I don't think anyone is calling him a future closer quite yet, though.
  15. ...and it happens the year after the Packers had rights to the Saints 1st round pick. No kidding. You never hope for injuries, but I figured having that Saints 1st rounder was great, as there would be some year that Brees didn't iron man his way through the year. Missed it by a year. Oh well, Darnell Savage appears to be a pretty good consolation prize.
  16. Obviously go Reds and go Rockies. I'm not real sure who to pull for in the Nationals/Cardinals series. Whatever happens there it helps the Brewers. I am still pulling for the division title, though, so I suppose a Nationals sweep helps that happen. Plus I want the Cardinals to have something to play for through the end of the year with all those Cubs games remaining.
  17. That record is going to be much better in a couple weeks.
  18. In the interest of turning this IGT back to the positive ... https://www.mlb.com/brewers/video/braun-s-clutch-grand-slam-in-9th Nice call on this one by Levering.
  19. Come on homer, he already declared victory. You can't drag him back out on the field! No dog maybe a child you have to tuck in? Don't tell my you live alone in a van down by... you know. That's irresponsible! It's 9:45 p.m.! Kids were in bed a long time ago. It's a school night. Letting them stay up this late would not be parental #WINNING
  20. Hmm, here I thought the actual guys doing the pitching were responsible for the pitching. Silly me. Right. Why ever fire anyone? Lifetime Bring back Rene Lachman after all it's the players fault Well, they have fired several underperforming pitchers already this year, so you might be on to something.
  21. But this team had such high expectations coming into the year! They haven't lived up to them! Someone's head has to roll, and Hook is an easy target! I mean, have you seen where they are in the sta ... oh, wait Yeah they are the freaking Dodgers. They are winning it all!! Extensions for all even the stalker board people!! You are doing all the #WINNING tonight. At least the dog isn't lonely. We're here to keep you company
