  1. I agree that Turang is probably the best of the team's tradable pieces, and is starting to gain some helium as a high-end prospect. I think Lutz arguably has more prospect upside, but he hasn't had that breakout season to put him on the national radar yet. So much depends on what the Mets are looking for. If they want pieces that are close t ML ready, guys like Grisham, Peralta/Burnes, Arcia/Dubon and Brown/Supak will have high appeal. If they want guys with arguably higher upside, Turang, Lutz and Ashby will hold more appeal. I personally think Ashby is going to be a stud, so perhaps I hold him in higher regard than I should.
  2. This is where I think they go as well. Perhaps they'll pick up a starter like Wheeler if the cost isn't prohibitive, but I think a couple pen arms and a consistent bench bat are the priorities.
  3. I doubt that Hiura is on the table in any trade packages, but there is probably a way to create a package that doesn't include Hiura. If the Mets are looking for helium prospects, a package of Turang, Ashby and Grisham perhaps gets the deal done. Other guys who are having strong seasons who may interest the Mets include Dubon, Payton Henry, Supak, Feliciano, Rasmussen, Nottingham and Bello. The Mets also originally drafted Adam Hill, so they obviously like him. If the Mets are looking for high upside, buy-low types, the system is full of them. Those aren't typically the types you see dealt this time of year, though. If a team is trading a star at the deadline, they are going to want guys who are performing in the minors.
  4. I always enjoy watching the All-Star game. There aren't really any stakes, but it's still fun seeing the best in the business on one field together. Hopefully the four Brewers who are likely to play tonight have a positive impact on the game.
  5. Bring that to literally every other thread on this site. Only sunshine and rainbows here. SUNSHINE AND RAINBOWS!!!
  6. Taking record completely out of it, if someone had told me that the Brewers would go into the All-Star break a 1/2 game out of first place, I would have taken it.
  7. I think we all could. Things are pretty snarky around here. Hopefully things start anew on Friday.
  8. Dang! Well ... gotta recharge the batteries during the break. Come out firing next Friday. They are fortunate to only be a 1/2 game back. It is anyone's division right now.
  9. D'oh, you're right. My bad. Only thing I can figure was they didn't want Chase to got through the order a third time, and were looking to cash in a run. Probably not a great move in retrospect. Sorry BC92.
  10. Who else does he have?? I'm tough on Counsell too but the dude is out of buttons to press. I got hammered for saying they need more bullpen arms because Hader is at risk. Now of course his back is acting up which is a problem when he's all you have. It's a mess but Counsell isn't the blame. When your starter is rolling > DONT take him out after the 4th inning, with a slumping bullpen. Again, he was taken out because there was a rain delay. It was the smart move. Crappy luck for the Brewers and Anderson, but sometimes it just happens.
  11. Exactly why Anderson NEEDED to stay in this game as long as possible. This is ridiculous to make excuses for Counsell, this game is on him. Period. It rained. He would have been out early no matter what I have been in and out of a nap but my thoughts were that he pulled Anderson because of the rain and needing to score That's right. Very rarely do teams leave the original starter in following a rain delay, unless it's super short. Having the starter get warm, pitch a few innings, and try to get warm again after sitting through a rain delay can do a lot of damage to an arm. You could say that the Brewers were screwed by Mother Nature, but Counsell certainly made the right move pulling Anderson.
  12. The pitching had a nice little run for about a week but it's rounding back into form. The bats can get going but until they decide pitching is important, this team is going nowhere including "in it". When was the last time that the pitching and hitting were both playing well at the same time? May?
  13. Not me. Domingo isn't a decent outfielder. That particular poster's love of Santana has become weird. I think he's just doing it to be trolly now.
  14. This thread shows up every year when the team hits a rough stretch. People need something to complain about, and Rock and BA are an easy target.
  15. The team increasing in perceived value doesn't equal profits though. He'd have to sell his stake to realize that.
  16. You spend you’re entire post arguing that we won’t know the actual revenue & expenses because the team is privately owned and yet you end it with a conclusion (“The fact of the matter”), which can only be made if you know the exact numbers. So is it a fact when you make it up or when Brew Crew 92 makes it up? Or is it a fact when it’s positive for the Brewers and Attanasio/ and just made up when it’s negative? Sorry ... I guess I misspoke. It can be assumed that people don't buy MLB teams as a money making venture. Perhaps that is wrong, and capitalists are lining up to buy MLB teams. I mean I just don't know. That doesn't change the overall theme of my post, which is that BC92 has been asked by a lot of people for backup to support his claims.
  17. You've been asked repeatedly to back up your claims. Yet all you do is continue to spout your claims over and over, almost as if you believe that if you say it enough times, it's a fact. You have NEVER presented any proof, other than saying "I've done my research". That is why no one is taking you seriously. You, like everyone else, have absolutely no clue what the Brewers revenue vs. expense numbers look like. We can make guesstimates, but as a privately held company, they aren't going to release those numbers, so it is simply a guess. The fact of the matter is billionaires don't buy major league baseball teams as a money-making venture. The investment is more for fun, and because they are baseball fans.
  18. He's hit pretty well at every level. What makes you think the bat will go into hibernation in the majors? Not trying to argue, just trying to understand your reasoning.
  19. I love Arcia, and you never hope for someone to by Wally Pipp'd, but in this case, it would probably help the Brewers. We need more consistency on offense. I don't know if that is Dubon, but it isn't going to hurt to try.
  20. Bad, bad managing from a very good manager. Did he think another pinch hitter was on the bench? What is his lame excuse? Yes, very lucky that didn't come back to bite them. Inexcusable to not walk Frazier there.
