  1. You can't overlook the ability to bend space time.
  2. Well, there's a rock, and there's a hard place, and between those is where David Stearns currently resides in regards to Braun. There is no easy solution. His production arguably doesn't warrant consistent playing time any longer, but as a small market team, how do you justify paying him $20 million to play on the short end of a platoon?
  3. That's a really good list. Risner is an almost ideal scheme fit. I know they only have two picks today, but I'd love to see them come out of the day with an O-lineman, slot receiver, TE or ILB. There's a lot of talent at those positions left.
  4. Regarding Gary's Wonderlic score ... he's dyslexic. A good friend of mine is dyslexic, and he's always had difficulty with any type of timed standardized test. He's also one of the smartest people I know. Gary is a two-time academic All Big Ten. I have no concern over his Wonderlic score.
  5. My hope was to get three immediate sure-fire starters out of this draft. While Savage will likely start from Day 1, I see Gary as a rotational guy. That means they need to nail their 2nd and 3rd rounders tomorrow. I could see them go Guard/Tackle with #44, and hopefully TE or ILB at #75.
  6. Played a lot in the slot, and has true WOW speed. Also pretty good size at 6'1", 210. I agree ... he'd be fun. Packers have never had a receiver with that kind of speed.
  7. Guys I really like for Round 2: 1. Dalton Risner, G/T 2. A.J. Brown, WR 3. Greedy Williams, CB 4. Cody Ford, G 5. Jawaan Taylor, T (maybe ... seems like a great value now) Maybe Jace Sternberger ... but would prefer him in the 3rd.
  8. Which NFL team or draft service do you work for?
  9. If there is one attribute you can peg as a Gute need, when reviewing what he did in 2018, and so far this year, it is speed. Josh Jackson is really the only player who doesn't fit that profile. I would say the drafting of Savage ends any talk of Jackson moving to safety, though.
  10. No, they can't. They need a slot receiver. There a couple from Ohio State, I wouldn't be against one of the Ole Miss WR'ers at 44. But the defense is pretty well set, for better or worse right now. I really like A.J. Brown if he's still around at #44. Kinda hoping Dalton Risner falls to that spot, though.
  11. And the Redskins take Sweat to take over for ... Preston Smith.
  12. The more video I see of Savage, the more I love that pick. Yeah he can get knocked for his size, but the dude flies to the ball and can tackle! If Amos is the enforcer and QB in the secondary, Savage is the ball hawk. Playing next to a steady eddie like Amos is going to make Savage look like a star. I am getting really excited to see this defense play now.
  13. The last time Green Bay picked a safety ahead of Baltimore was Nick Collins. Nobody had him mocked in the 2nd round. Or anywhere close. I've actually seen more than one write-up who pegged Savage's closest comparison as Nick Collins. They are very similar size/speed prospects. Savage is going to step in and be an immediate starter at free safety. If he can approach what Collins did, that's a huge win.
  14. I see Gary as very similar to Everson Griffen. Hopefully not a head case though.
  15. Immediate draft grades are the most useless thing maybe ever.
  16. That was actually a decent pick for the Vikings.
  17. Who are you talking about? Clay Matthews? I hope not. Matthews was listed on USCs roster at 230 pounds as a senior and was 240 at the combine. One Nicholas Perry
  18. Gary is in a whole different stratosphere athletically compared to Jones. True, but I just don’t get drafting guys without an obvious pro position this high in the draft. There’s too much at stake. He has the same body as ZaDarius Smith. Packers obviously thought they had a position for him.
  19. But ... another large school DE that the Packers will convert to OLB. Where have I heard this before?
  20. Gary is in a whole different stratosphere athletically compared to Jones.
  21. I'm guessing Gary will drop weight into the 265 lb range. His body type and athleticism fits the type Gute and Pettine are looking for, that's for sure. They want edge rushers who pack a punch.
  22. Running a 4.58 at 6'5" and nearly 280 is crazy.
  23. Gary announced as a LB. Gonna be an Edge I guess? Pettine has a type, that's for sure. Spitting image of the Smiths.
  24. I'm kinda hoping trade back at this point. Sweat would be fun though. or Burns. Or Taylor. Really can't lose now.
