  1. You are also assuming that Kimbrel would accept a high dollar pillow contract. I think if he'd be willing to do that, he'd already be with a team. Also, regarding Jeffress, they aren't going to let him set foot on a ML mound if he's only throwing 84.
  2. The Cubs' situation is pretty rotten right now. That's one.
  3. You know something we don't about Jeffress? Because all indicates are that he'll be back in two-three weeks.
  4. I don't think that's a problem because I doubt the Giants would even consider this if they got a trade they felt was a good value now. Pitchers value can drop in a BIG hurry. I'm sure Corey Knebel and Jeremy Jeffress would have netted the Brewers a top 15 prospect in baseball a week ago. If you're the Giants, why do you want to wait if you plan on trading for young, controllable players anyway in your rebuild process? Maybe Smith gets hurt again as he has been in SF and the younger pitcher struggles to find the zone. Then you have nothing to trade. You see trades all throughout the season. There's no rule that says teams have to wait until the last minute. You just see more teams waiting to seeif they've comeptitive or not. Work out something with the giants NOW please > tonight before this or any team see’s how bad our closing options(outside of Hader) pitch. No panic, just a dose of reality after watching a real game, and like Counsell, dreading the idea of any pen arm outside of Hader closing these games out. Am I the only one honest enough to admit We should be more than just concerned? Honest? I'd say this is freaking out.
  5. I mean 2 innings so I would expect him to miss the rest of the series. Got the win. William's, Claudio, Albers etc. need to step up. Only threw 21 pitches > Sun at the latest be available if needed Yeah, I'm thinking Sunday as well. Gotta get through the next two with the other pen guys. Time for them to step up and shine.
  6. Shaky but solid starting pitching = check An all-or-nothing offense dependent on HRs = check Timely hitting from Yelich = check A dominant Josh Hader in his first inning, followed by some well-struck balls in his 2nd = check Baseball magic/luck (Chacin HR and Cain leaping grab) = check Yep, sounds about right
  7. This team is going to be a lot of fun. They are going to drive us insane at times, but it's still going to be a lot of fun.
  8. Josh Hader is good at baseball. Thank you David Stearns for your hand in handing him to the Brewers.
  9. I think Guerra is going to surprise a lot of people out of the pen this year. That splitter is a true out pitch.
  10. 5 1/3 innings, 96 pitches, 3 runs in the first start of the year. I'll take it. Solid work from Chacin today. It'll be interesting to see what the pen pecking order is now.
  11. CC knew he was getting a run out of that at bat! Yeah, that turned out to be the best ironically wrong post ever. Still surprised he hit there though.
  12. Chacin hitting for himself in the 5th is a surprise. I guess Counsell was serious when he talked about wanting longer outings out of his starters. No lines being blurred yet. Edit: Or they just wanted to keep that power bat in the lineup!
  13. Chacin through 5 innings, with a pitch count in the 80s now. I can't imagine he'll come out for the 6th. We'll see here shortly.
