  1. A little early cowboy. Settle down. LOL, well, it's not a no-no, so no problem talking about it. 9 Ks though 3 innings is fun.
  2. Eh, I imagine they'll let him go 100 pitches. If they can get 5 innings, great. If he's efficient, maybe 6. I'll take that.
  3. Ponce, Sanchez, Brown, Webb............... Yep, those too. Brown and Sanchez I imagine will be close. Perdomo too. Ponce too if they are seasoning him to be a reliever. Lots of live arms available int he upper minors. Its going to be a lot of fun to follow the minors this year.
  4. 36 pitches through 2 innings isn't bad. I imagine they'll be happy to get 5-6 innings out of him today. True. With the state of our bullpen I would love to see a 7 inning start by a starter soon Me too. But they have guys like Houser and Diplan that will be on that San Antonio shuttle if they need a fresh arm. Petricka, Wilkerson, and Fields too if they need an arm. That shuttle is going to get a workout. Was hoping that they'd maybe be able to go a week before doing that, though.

  6. Really love the emotion that Burnes is showing out there. Pretty cool, and I bet it's really pissing off the Cardinal faithful.
  7. I don't know if rotation order makes a lot of a difference, but Peralta may just be keeping that #2 spot worm for Nelson come the end of April. End of April? And people think I’m overly optimistic. Ha Yeah, I think that's the schedule he's on. That'll give him 4-5 starts in AAA. He was built up to roughly 60 pitches in spring training. If they can get him to 80-90, I would imagine that, barring any injury setbacks, we'll see him in MLB by May 1.
  8. I don't know if rotation order makes a lot of a difference, but Peralta may just be keeping that #2 spot worm for Nelson come the end of April.
  9. Woodruff may have a smidge more velocity, but Burnes has the movement and command right now. He might be the total package.
  10. WOW, pure filth from Burnes. These young kids are going to be fun to watch. They'll have their frustrating points, but excitement too.
  11. Perhaps the Derek Johnson pixie dust isn't as magical anymore.
  12. Thanks for posting that! I think it’s safe to assume jj gonna be back now, maybe as soon as 3rd week of April. Hope he can still get it up to 96-97. Probably safe to assume that he won't be back if he's not.
  13. Really excited to see Burnes' start today. I truly believe that he and Woodruff are going to establish themselves as legit #1-2-type starters, and while there will be some ups and downs, I think we're going to look back on this season as the start of something very good. I am optimistic for Peralta as well, but I think it may take him longer.
  14. @AdamMcCalvy Jeremy Jeffress’ inning went as planned yesterday in Phoenix, per CC. He’ll pitch again in some kind of camp game Tuesday, then (if that goes well) get a taste of the real thing at Triple-A San Antonio at the end of the week. Progress. McCalvy followed up by saying that while they didn't get velocity readings, they must have been fine, or they wouldn't be letting him throw.
  15. The rotation is pretty set, and they have Anderson, Nelson and Houser waiting in reserve for ML starts. While I wish one of those guys was a lefty, the rotation actually has more quality depth than I can remember.
  16. Or maybe ... and stay with me here ... they've determined that Kimbrel is asking for way too much, and the production doesn't equal the cost. The team has a record payroll (by far actually), yet there are still fans complaining that they aren't spending more. This team has been a contender more often than it hasn't under Attanasio's ownership, yet we have fans that are calling him a cheap liar. I'm sorry, but that is just flat out wrong. Then why tell a fan we’re trying to get him? If that’s the case just say you’ve moved on. Their payroll as a % of their revenue(now this is truly record- breaking, their revenue) isn’t record breaking. The payroll is, that’s all. There are much worse owners in baseball than Attanasio, but don’t play the fans, and say what’s really not true. Be honest. Well, I suppose in the whole history of Twitter, no one has ever told a lie. How do we know this fan is completely making up what Attanasio said to get traffic, clicks and followers? I mean, that kind of crap happens constantly.

  18. If Haudricourt’s right then these so called “serious negotiations”haven’t been that at all, and I would say a total waste of Kimbrel’s time. If I were him I’d be seething. Well, the season is three games old, and he doesn't have a job. If he's seething, the only one he has to blame is himself, because he overshot his market.
  19. So Tom Haudricourt is mad at Brewers Twitter and Brewerfan.net, so he's teamed up with Brewers Owner Mark Attanasio to put out a story to insult the portion of the teams fanbase who wants them to sign Kimbrel? That's a little bit out there ... Didn’t literally get together with mark no, I think you know I was being facetious. But yeah he’s irritated at brewerfan. Can’t say I blame him, he is crushed a lot here. Read beginning of article and tell me there’s no condescension. I imagine he's probably getting a little tired of being asked 500 times a day on Twitter if/when the Brewers are signing Kimbrel. I personally don't think he's ripped on much here, either. I think for the most part post posters appreciate all the coverage they can get. The people here who rip on Haudricrourt are typically pretty bitter altogether. I didn't really see it as condescending. Perhaps a little snarky, but at this point probably pretty based in realism too.
