More fundamentally sound. Getting pressure from the edge, and from really all over when it comes to Za'Darius, is going to make the LB corps and secondary look all that much better. Amos isn't going to be a super flashy player, but he's also very fundamentally sound and smart. He is very close to what an "in his prime" Morgan Burnett provided. I haven't seen anyone really bringing this up, but these two are also behemoths. Za'Darius is 6'4 and 275. Preston is 6'6. I'd also rate Amos as a better player than Morgan Burnett, whom I consider to be one of the most overrated Packers of the last decade. He had the reverence of fans for some reason but he was a 100% marginal player who essentially never made a play. I think if you are expecting Amos to create a bunch of turnovers and game-turning plays, you're going to be disappointed. He just isn't that sort of player. What he is is a player who isn't going to take poor angles, whiff on tackles, get beaten over and over again by TEs and RBs, and be caught out of position time and time again. He's a sound, steady, lunchpail-type player who is dependable. Some fans aren't going to like that, but I personally think its great. Having a guy like that is going to allow the playmaker-types like Alexander and King (if he ever gets healthy) to take more chances and create turnovers, knowing they have a steady influence in Amos behind them to back them up. That type of heady player is also going to make whoever is starting at safety next to him, whether that is Jones, or Brice, Campbell, Josh Jackson or whoever else they bring in as safety, much better.
