  1. Don't diss on Villar ... Villar looks like an all-star compared to Schoop! I loved Villar. But not hitting leadoff on a playoff contender in October. I'm sure he'll be terrific playing for a crap team for the next few years.
  2. Cain and Yelich have been a revelation at the top of the order. Can you imagine watching Broxton, Villar or even Arcia hitting up there all year?
  3. Knebel still warming, with no sign of Jeffress. Jeremy hasn't exactly done anything to lose the closer role. Either this is matchup-based, or Jeffress is nursing something. Anderson just alluded to something seeming off with him earlier today.
  4. Fastest he's been on the gun since coming to the Brewers. I wonder if St. Louis has a quick gun, though? Hicks is fast, but I don't know about 102 fast. Hicks is the highest average fastball in the game so he definitely is 102 fast. I think he can touch 105. It is so odd that he doesn't get more K's with the stuff though. His fastball is straight as an arrow, and he doesn't really pitch up in the zone. Most of these guys can hit a fastball in the strike zone, even one coming in at triple digits. Hicks has a great future ahead of him, though.
  5. Because Cardinals. It's in their blood. Wow, nice inning Soria. Good Soria and Good Knebel make this pen very, very good.
  6. Fastest he's been on the gun since coming to the Brewers. I wonder if St. Louis has a quick gun, though? Hicks is fast, but I don't know about 102 fast.
  7. They need him to right the ship this week. He's too good to be getting knocked around like he has been at times since the trade.
  8. Gotta go Knebel here, right? Edit: Nope, it's Soria. Well, I hope Counsell has Jeffress ready to roll on a moment's notice.
  9. I have a feeling he'll be awake now. Saladino was used, and I don't want to see Schoop or Perez at SS here.
  10. He would have if he ran the whole way. Brewers definitely traded for the right Marlins OFer ... if there was any question.
  11. What would Coach Cooper say? Ok I have to ask - what is this reference? Cubs troll that was here, briefly, for some IGTs last month. Really odd behavior, talking about his old youth coach (Cooper) who was an old school baseball traditionalist, apparently.
  12. Cubs lost, and Dodgers are down, albeit early. Pulling out a win tonight would be huge.
  13. That run in the top of the 7th was huge if this rain sticks. Keeps them from a cheap early call.
  14. That's what worries be about playoff baseball somewhat. This team is not good offensively when they are pressing. Too many guys trying to play hero ball.
