  1. Why are you always so against the Brewers acquiring guys who used to play here? Its not exactly an apples-to-apples comparison, but Sabathia was 6-8 with an ERA near 4 when the Brewers traded for him. I imagine that smart teams look at more than just the last 4 months of results when trading for a veteran pitcher, and Peralta has a very solid history. If he were pitching better, it is likely the Mets would be closer to contending, and he wouldn't even be available. If the Brewers determine that he's the best fit of what is available for veteran starting pitching, I wouldn't take issue with it, former Brewer or not.
  2. I don't know how anyone can't be happy with what the Brewers received in this deal, other than just simply wanting to be contrarian.
  3. "Whaaaaa .... but I want big NaMeZZZZZ that I knowwwwww!!!!!"
  4. Yep, because it's been rough for Brewer fans watching Peters blossom in the middle of the Giants' order. Seriously ... he's been dealt twice in minor deals, then DFA'd and traded for cash since he was Brewers' property. Your argument is disingenuous at absolute best.
  5. McGee was already DFA'd last week prior to being dealt. Bryse Wilson took his 40-man spot.
  6. He's also likely on the verge of being the Brewers starting 3B. Would likely be up now had he not gotten dinged last week, necessitating the move for Shewmake.
  7. Ranked as high as 10th in the Astros farm system (2023-24). 16th last year. 2021 8th round pick. Has a funky delivery. Been a starter throughout his minor league career, but I'd bet they are looking at him as a reliever.
  8. Which says pretty much everything I need to know about how the Brewers feel about Tobias Myers.
  9. Apparent Apparently LHP Colton Gordon is also coming back in the deal.
  10. "All"? Williams is 22 years old, is still considered a Top 100 prospect, and was the centerpiece of the Brewers' return for Peralta and Myers,
  11. Depends on how much salary the Astros are picking up. This is 100% a pure salary dump.
  12. The Cubs just passed him through waivers, and he went unclaimed. If the Brewers wanted him on the 40-man, they just would have claimed him. That they didn't makes me believe this is a minors deal.
  13. Guessing its a minors deal, but he was quite good at times in his time here. Doesn't hurt to have depth.
  14. It is a little ironic that Joey actually started looking like the same guy offensively he was in 2024 (as the predominant 3B) as soon as he was moved off of SS this season. Probably just a coincidence ...
  15. Miz's All Star spot was already replaced yesterday. He'll be introduced, but that's it for his All Star participation.
  16. Pratt also had more than 66 plate appearances above A ball. The Brewers are typically very smart about not setting these guys up to fail, and throwing Fischer to the wolves at this point would be very non-Brewer like.
  17. Fischer is a talent for sure, but he's only got 16 games under his belt at the AA level. He's not ready yet.
  18. Never in a million years. It would be worse than the Packers signing Jim McMahon to back up Favre back in the day.
  19. Enough of the "this team is going to go .500 or close to it" crap. They are good. Very good. 19-7
  20. This post proves why you are my favorite poster here. Continually proving the resident pessimists around here wrong with cold, hard FACTS. Thank you for your service.
  21. Correct. Skubal is terrific, but teams no longer trade top MLB prospects for rentals.
