  1. If the ads would only load simultaneously with the rest of the page content, I think it would be ok. But the pop-ups showing up a few seconds after the rest of the page content loads makes scrolling and clicking pretty cumbersome. I realize how "first world problemy" this sounds, but I believe that right now this is a big issue, and it's driving users away. It is noticeable, especially in the game threads. Brock, please don't take what I'm saying as a criticism of what you are doing here, because there are plenty of noticeable improvements, but the ads, at least the way they are populated on the site, absolutely suck.
  2. Clairvoyant pessimism is certainly a new one for this board.
  3. Betting it will be Boxberger and Hader tonight. Edit: Or not. Here comes Willliams
  4. He'd definitely qualify as the "twitchy 3rd down rusher" type spoke of in Montgomery's presser yesterday.
  5. To be fair, a few of those who are wallowing in negativity have wallowed since their first post here. That's just the way some fans operate. If I've learned anything here over the years, and after dozens of squabbles with the pessimist portion of this site's membership, its that there really isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to be a fan. And while the pessimism still irks me, by engaging with those posters, you are really just giving them what they want ... i.e., an argument.
  6. Why do fans do this? I get the frustration, but really?
  7. The HBP that led to the retaliation was an inch off the inside of the plate, and Contreras (who already crowds the plate) leaned his elbow into it. He's a doofus.

  11. Renfroe has always been a streaky guy, and I know he'll get hot. The extreme early returns are not encouraging, though.
  12. Not a good start to the season for this starting pitching staff. At all.
  13. The problem I have when scrolling on a desktop is the ads are not populating immediately when I click on a page, so when I click a sub-forum, and then go to click a topic, the ad pops in just before I click, and I end up clicking on a topic I didn't intend to. Super annoying.
  14. Wow, what a trip down memory lane! This early 2000s Brewer teams were so terrible, yet were pretty fun to watch. Just look at the lineup! Eric Young was a sold 2B, Scott Podsednik was that season's Rookie of the Year, Richie Sexson was a star, Geoff Jenkins was a solid power-hitting LF, That's where things fell apart, though. The rest of the lineup was guys like John Vander Wal, Brady Clark, Wes Helms, Eddie Perez, Royce Clayton and Keith Ginter. Brooks Kieschnick was also surprisingly effective as a two-way player that year. That was also the year Ricke Weeks debuted as a 20-year-old, and Bill Hall got some time as a 23-year-old rookie. As with most Brewer teams of that era, they were done in by terrible pitching.
  15. This same offense won 95 games last year. So it is, in fact, a 90-win team. Now if you are saying that the pitching won't be as strong, then you have a point. But that is merely a hypothetical. As for the offense, I don't know see it being any worse than last season ... likely better with a full year of Adames and Tellez, and Urias established at 3B once he's back. Get anything at all from Yelich and Huira, and that's a better offense.
  16. But which one is going to be the scapegoat/easy target?
  17. Ugh ... all this is doing is prolonging this crapfest.
  18. In all seriousness, he looks a little wild, but he's got a live arm, and everything he throws has a ton of movement.
  19. I thought firing Haines was the cure-all? One poster in particular was adamant that he was to blame for last year's struggles.
  20. Just get through the rest of this trainwreck with no injuries. Go get 'em tomorrow.
  21. I sort of have a weird feeling that the guy who ends up leading this team in HRs this year isn't even in the organization yet. Something like the out-of-nowhere early deal for Adames last year.
  22. But we were all told above that this team may not win 70 games!
  23. Sorry if you were offended, but Barker gets mentioned by a lot of posters here as someone who should be a significant part of the MLB pen, and it is obvious to me that the Brewers front office doesn't see his low 90s stuff as MLB worthy.
