    Agree Smith would be the guy to target. But he’s cheap. Rangers do need some help in bullpen though. Might have a match.

    Kinda why I think they’ll still add an infielder and perhaps pitcher. Neither exciting btw. But still a decent cash outlay. Something short of Gary Sanchez.

    Wasn’t opening day last year a touch short of 120 million or am I off.

    That puts the brewers a bit south of 110 million. How much does that leave for any addition. Guesses?

    What did Matt Chapman sign for with the Giants last year? 2 years 60 million. Then opt out one year. Any chance the brewers could do the same type of deal with Bregman if no one meets his demands?

    Vierling would be the guy. Think he would be popular if available though.

    Bergman would be the only guy out there. Alonso if Hoskins wasn’t on the team as well.

    Moncada will get more than what he’s worth imo. Kim is an interesting guy to look at as well. The shoulder makes his contract demands less. Not much pop though.

    Hoskins and prospect. Then go sign Carlos Santana.

    Possibly. But I’m guessing the Astros would want to add an another power hitting 1B. To help make up for Tucker.

    Appears Houston still in on adding a starting 3B . If they add Bergman. Would Parades make sense for the brewers.

    Brewers will have to eat at least 5 million to trade him. Or take on a bad contract as well. Brewers most likely are stuck with him.

    Like the idea of bringing Santana back. As for 3rd my guess is one of the three. Moncada, Drury, or DeJong. Unless they somehow come out of the Bergman/Arrendo musical chair landing a 3 rd baseman. Bohm, Parades, or a young Detroit 3B .

    Philly rumored to have offered Bohm and Nick Castellanos. Not seeing how Cast had any value for Astros.

    Brewers and other teams are waiting on Bergman then Arrendo market to clear things out.

    Don’t think he’d approve a trade to Milwaukee. I’d say Hoskins and prospect. Has 3 yrs and 74 million left on deal. Get rid of Hoskins makes it 56 million. The only alarming thing about Nolan was his dip in slugging fell under 400. but as I said don’t think it matters. Won’t play in Milwaukee. I’m thinking he goes to Philly for nothing.

    If he can play some 3rd along with 2B it has some value. But I don’t think I’ve seen him play anything but 2B competently.

    Depends if it’s quantity over quality sure. If some of the packages proposed. Brewers should pass.

    Too bad Nolan Arenado is in the division. After seeing these contracts he wouldn’t be horrible. Even if he is declining some.

    Both Sheehan and Gosolin were injured and didn’t pitch much. Still lots of upside there. Certainly interesting.

    I understand the contract would put the brewers out of acquiring him. Also the injury history is troubling as well. Any way it would be possible though? Think he’s guaranteed 137 million still. If the brewers could do a Rockies Arrendo to Cardinals type deal. Get them to throw in 50 to 60 million and more if vesting options hit. Send them Hoskins and some ok prospects. They send Correa and 50 to 75 million over contract life.

    How cheap does Torres need to be for it to be a fit for Brewers? I guess how bad is the glove to trade off for the offense?

    No doubt it would be a salary dump. Also not sold the 22 million will result in a significant acquisition in the infield or SP to upgrade the team.
