  1. Greinke says he feels great and with 11 starts left my expectations are a sub 3.00 ERA and hopefully 7-8 wins. With Weeks going down we'll have to ride our starters for a bit, hopefully only a 2-3 week thing
  2. Prince then why is Hadricourt even asking him. I think you're off on this one. There's something going on thats for sure.
  3. I find it almost impossible to think Melvin hasn't spoken to Williams. They have completed a trade in the past and ahead of the trade deadline they haven't spoken?? That has to be BUNK!!!!
  4. We can't pay afford to pay $10 million on a mediocre player. In this market you need to be buying exceptional players for that and mix in cheaper players, when a large salary player doesn't perform it just kills this model. With that being said I have no problem looking at what's out there on the trade market if it improves us but if you trade Hart then you need to fill RF.
  5. If you can find that post maybe post it on here and I will change the title of the thread, thanks,
  6. Not sure if there's any advantages here but I thought I would break this down. I didn't do the Pirates in the interest of time and their history http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif. Feel free to move this somewhere else, I couldn't find an existing topic. This list is unofficial. Cardinals 12 home 8 away (non-division). Home Colo (3), LA (3), Atl (3) Mets (3) Away Fla (4), Phil (4) Mil 13 home 5 away (non-division) Home LA (4), Phil (4), Colo (2), Fla (3) Away SF (2), Mets (3) Brewers divisional games Chi 6 at home 3 on the road Hou 3 at home 6 on the road Cin 3 away Stl 6 home, 6 away Pit 6 home 4 away Stl Divisional games Chi 6 home, 3 away Hou 4 home, 3 away Cin 3 home Mil 6 home, 6 away Pit 3 home, 8 away Definite advantage for us in non-division games and we only play the Reds 3 more times (away). Key here will be 12 games head to head with the Cardinals, also 10 more with Pirates. Reds appear to be a "swing" team they don't have that many divisional games left, they only play us and St. Louis 3 times each. GO BREW
  7. Now McGehee and Yuni are starting to hit. LOL. What are we going to do LOL
  8. Rotoworld confirms we were scouting him as well, Melvin could just be doing some DD or the trade market for 3b and SS are so bad he feels he can't upgrade there so he's looking at the rotation. Jackson would be a strong 5th starter and Narve moves into the long role or maybe even situational???
  9. I give it a 1% chance of Gamel or Green being in this deal. We did the Mets a favor taking this contract, it WILL NOT be 2 of our upper prospects, I would think no one in the top 10 of the Pwer 50 would be included. Next trade please http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  10. Supposedly the Mariners aren't opposed to moving this guy, would he be worth a shot if he's a salary dump (cheap)? There just doesn't seem to be a ton of external options at 3b and SS???
  11. How much is that mini 1982 Brewer set worth (blue version. All pieces are in their boxes with the plastic.
  12. Wouldn't Bell get the 8th??
  13. I would hope ARam's desire to play in a pennant drive would win out over staying home, if not we probably wouldn't want that type of player. There are different versions surrounding this option, it's possible the Brew or any team trading for him would NOT be on the hook for next year's option but would have the ability to exercise ths $2 million dollar buyout. Alot of things have to happen here but man we would have a great lineup!!!!
  14. On 1250 today they retold a story that on a Chicago radio station today they were looking for possible destinations for Aramis Ramirez, he has been on fire lately. They mentioned the Brewers. A lot of things starting dancing in my head. 1. Supposedly, he doesn't want to be traded and would block a trade, we're only 90 miles away though, could the players and/or management talk him into waiving his no trade? 2. Cubs are not going to exercise their option, they apparently will buy him out for $2 million, this means they will probably move him. 3. What would the compensation be, they could shed alot of payroll plus the buyout if he's traded (anybody but Thornberg goes in this deal). 4. Can we afford him, he makes alot of money ($15 million + I believe). 5. Lastly, would the Cubs trade him within the division (there's no love lost towards the Cardinals). I would absolutely love this deal, McGehee becomes our righty off of the bench, making our bench stronger and ARam would definitely provide some protection for Fielder and correct me if I'm wrong he loves hitting in Miller Park (or maybe just against our staff) Get this deal done Doug!!!
  15. The pop-up in the 1st with the bases loaded. The 9th inning approach and oh yeah my favorite of the year the double play bunt last night when for some reason Yuni couldn't get out the box. If my patience is gone, how can the Brewers still have any. With that being said I'm not sure playing Counsell is a better idea. He looks finished to me.
  16. Does anyone have BA's call when Braun hit that HR against the Cubs to clinch the playoff spot, I think its on the pregame, gives me goose bumps everytime I hear it.
  17. He has a catch phrase he uses over and over again ( I forget what he always start of by saying) but I like the aspect of him being a former player (and a good one).
  18. Can he be worse that Estrada right now, he has stunk up the joint recently, I'm thinking Gamel would still be here had he been hitting. Call it bad luck I think he was batting under .150
  19. Maybe we can expound on this thread a bit. If you're in Game 7 and you could pick any one of our starters who would you pick to start the game, your RR and you can only pick 1, assume everyone is fully rested. My pick would be Greinke
  20. RR = OUTSTANDING 1 blunder was batting Kotsay before Kottaras but for the most part has been really good and most importantly the players like him. Back off of RR. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  21. Guys you're way off on this. Our starters have been really really good. The back end of our rotation should be exceeding everyone's expectations. We're up 3 games and people on the board are blasting RR, WHAT A JOKE!!!
  22. I have 10 tickets in SECT 222 Row 9 (they're together). Our group isn't going to go. These tickets are $38 at the door, asking $30 a piece. These seats are third base side between home plate and dugout, very good seats!! Text or call me at 2623120879 Mike
  23. Wonder what Wolf's ERA is without that San Diego beating he took, man he's been really really good.
  24. If you're a fan saying this is just another game on the schedule that's OK but I don't think the players or the manager is taking it that way and I like that. I think RR has raised the bar and the players are buying into it. Hios statements involving our staff and our offense, he makes these gentle little statements and they all mean " hey you guys are really good, let's take care of business" kind of stuff. GO BREW
  25. Does this game have any additional meaning today? If the Brewers walk out of Fenway winning 2 of 3 does that send a message to the AL and the rest of the NL or is this just 1 game on the schedule of 162. I think this team is starting (if they don't already) believe they can win the division and make a run in the playoffs, 2008 alot of these guys were "babies" but now our offense is seasoned and we arguably have the best starting 4 in the NL and Axford has done the job and he was electric last night. I would love to win this game today and plant a little seed in Francona and his troops. GO BREW
