Other players on not so good teams that could be available: Marcus Stroman Michael Fulmer Jose Urena Danny Duffy I’ve been on the Fulmer train for awhile but his injury history isn’t the best. Urena could be a stud if he could be a bit more consistent. Just was thinking of a few players not really being reported on as that’s usually how Stearns does things. Not quite the needle movers Kluber is though.
At what point would the brewers look to extend Chacin for 2 years? Or is that not likely an option. Personally like the guy and how steady he was last year.
In other words, the Brewers have been one of the most aggressive teams adding payroll the last 2 years. Yet come December / January next year we'll still have our annual hand-wringing here about Mark A being too cheap and David Stearns being too conservative. Looking forward to it. Never fails...every year.
With tulo and didi (after comes back from DL) and possibly machado...do the yanks make Miguel Andújar available? Wow would that be a young stud to add to our infield. Would cost a ton but may be worth it like a Yelich move. I’m probably living in a fantasy world but Stearns has surprised me before!
Exactly. No outfield depth anymore and both this and the Santana trade were massive sell lows with underwhelming return. I don't like how this off-season is playing out at all. Love what Stearns has done to this point, but it seems like Dean Taylor has been running the ship the past few months. Disagree with this. Love the return in this trade and Santana types have lost value in general the last few years. Stearns isn’t perfect but we will always need to make these type of trades to replenish the farm.
https://www.brewcrewball.com/2019/1/2/18165287/milwaukee-brewers-trade-target-xander-bogaerts-boston-red-sox Interesting read. Would love a player like him. Only one year left though at age 26, around $10 million. What would it take to get him? article mentions a similar value of Goldschmidt.
MLB Network @MLBNetwork · 59m "The Marlins are not wavering. They want a top 0-3 year player, someone like Cody Bellinger or Ozzie Albies, and on top of that they want some good prospects." Well, good luck with that Miami...
