  1. From what I recall, Lasry & Edens had equal shares. Impressive that the Bucks sold for $550 milion in 2014 and now a (presumably) less than 50% share fetches $3.5 billion. I'm really wondering how accurate that price is since the Suns recently had a change in ownership and that franchise was valued at around $4B. I'm guessing there will be an adjustment to numbers, it wouldn't surprise me if the entire Bucks franchise was valued at $3.5B bringing Haslam's share price much lower. It's hard to reasonably say that the Bucks are worth north of $7B total.
  2. Sounds like he'll play Friday.
  3. I'm 3 episodes in, breaking there to watch the Bucks. I just laughed out loud at the last line of that episode. What a crazy show, not at all what I expected. You seriously can't prepare for the actual show you're getting from what the guy is explaining about what happened to him in the first episode. If anyone is curious there's only 6 episodes, the first 5 are between 30 to 40 minutes and the last one is around an hour so you can get through it quickly.
  4. I'm not as confident for this one that they'll bring it back. I hope they do. MLB Network, in my observation anyway which I guess doesn't mean much, doesn't seem to have the same pull as the NFL Network does. I could see YouTube TV just letting it go and not trying real hard to get an agreement. Maybe they'll look at the number of subscriber cancellations to see if there's a noticeable bump. I guess that would be an incentive to folks out there that are thinking of dropping YouTube TV to give it a go, maybe that will help bring it back.
  5. I'm higher risk. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer early 2021. She's doing great now, they found it probably as early as they possibly could have. But in the early going after her diagnosis they ran a bunch of additional tests on her and they found that she had a CHEK2 gene mutation that made her more at risk for cancer. She went from only having to have a couple lymph nodes removed to the doctor recommending a full double mastectomy. It was a big bummer for her but it's a no brainer to eliminate as much risk of a relapse as possible. CHEK2 is hereditary so the doctor also told her to have all her siblings and her kids (me and my brother) to get tested to see if we had the mutation as well. We both do and I'm pretty sure at least 2 of her sibs did as well. In men with CHEK2 the cancer risk is higher for the prostate and colon. I also had 6 polyps removed which was a bit more than normal and the nurse told me that will bump me up from getting a colonoscopy every 10 years to every 5 instead, or at least unless the next test shows fewer polyps I guess. EDIT: Well a couple hours later I got a call from the doctor's office with results of my colonoscopy. They said all of the polyps were benign and I won't have to have another for 10 years. So there ya go. Still feel like I'm probably better off going the old fashioned route but who knows what advancements may happen in the next decade.
  6. Kinda got to think Crowder himself must prefer to go to the Bucks as well. Not sure how much say he actually has in the matter but I feel like it's pretty much a done deal unless something dumb happens, which of course is more than possible.
  7. Sounds awful. My stomach discomfort lasted around 5 hours, I slept through some of it and watched some TV to try to distract myself the rest of the time. Didn't eat anything else of substance the rest of the night. I think I had a granola bar around midnight. I definitely would have struggled if I had to work while feeling like that but I'm working from home so... I probably could get away with a slacker day on the clock. Fortunately it didn't come to that. Long story alert: don't waste time reading if you don't want to. You mentioning your boss telling you to go home brought back a memory of an instance where the exact opposite happened for me. I worked for a fast food chain in my late high school years. One summer weekend I had gone with some friends to Noah's Ark. I had forgotten to bring sunblock and for whatever reason I didn't buy any or borrow any, hard to recall if anyone else even had some. Suffice to say, by the end of the day I had a pretty nasty sunburn. Man I was dumb, I could feel my skin was hot as the day was winding down but it's never as bad in the moment as it's going to be as more time passes. My shoulders and upper arms ended up covered in blisters. Not good times. Next day I was supposed to work, called them up and begged to have the day off because I was feeling terrible. The assistant manager answered, he was a guy I didn't have much of a rapport with, I was pretty well liked by management otherwise, especially the manager but this assistant manager was newer and for whatever reason he didn't know me well enough or didn't care or maybe he was even jealous that the manager liked me, I don't know, but he decided to be a big tool and express doubt that I was telling the truth or felt like I was exaggerating just to get out of work without finding a replacement. To be fair a lot of high school kids are super flaky with jobs like this and as I said he didn't know me real well. So he tells me if I don't come in I'd be fired. Or at least he implied it convincingly enough for me to believe him so I sucked it up and reported for my shift, half believing that when he saw me he'd realize I wasn't trying to pull a fast one and send me home. Nope, everyone but him, he was one of those guys that would never admit when they're wrong. I was red like a lobster. Everybody could see it. People were asking me why I was there and I was like, dude told me I better show up or else. The guy didn't make a lot of eye contact with me and I worked for most of my scheduled shift, 5 or 6 hours. Oh, I worked in the back with the grills and fryers and there was no air conditioning so it was like 100 degrees back there (yay 80s!). It really sucked. After the lunch rush the guy comes up to me and says, take out all the garbage and then I guess you can go home. I thought, "Geez Louise, thanks for being such a swell guy." Anybody could have taken the garbage out and it would have taken 15 minutes but I could barely raise my arms above my head and I'm supposed to throw all the bags of garbage into the trash compactor behind the restaurant which was above shoulder level. It took me about a half hour so I think I got to go home a whole 30 minutes before my shift ended anyway. So kind and thoughtful. He didn't stick around too long, I wasn't sorry to see him go.
  8. Colonoscopy. The procedure itself was fine. The prep, as those that go through it know, is the worst part. Anyway, having turned 50 a few months ago, I had my first one yesterday. I was craving real food, wasn't exactly hungry, just the fact that I could not eat made the desire to eat stronger. Fully aware I would probably regret it after the fact (spoiler alert: I did), I planned on going to a local diner immediately after being released from the procedure. So I had breakfast in the afternoon, scrambled eggs, hash browns (with a copious amount of ketchup), toast and a Belgian waffle. Carb city. It was delicious. Very satisfying after around 36 hours of no solid food. I want to think the indigestion and stomach discomfort several hours later was worth it. It both was and wasn't. I probably won't do the same thing next time but I'll want to. LOL
  9. Now that you've seen Knives Out you can watch the next one, "Glass Onion". I should take my own advice, I've been meaning to watch it for weeks now lol.
  10. I think mentioning Ellie in the second game is already a spoiler for those that don't know anything from the game at all. There is always the chance that due to the second game angering so many fans they could go a completely different direction and thus remove some plot armor but... As far as the first two episodes go it's been really good. The first 30ish minutes of episode 1 were pretty much iconic when it comes to the harrowing experience of Joel, his daughter Sarah and Joel's brother Tommy just like how the game began the story and it was really beautifully done. The casting of Pedro Pascal as Joel is a home run, I don't think I could have pictured a more perfect match for that character. Going forward I don't know that I'd expect to see things go shot for shot the way the game did but more that they'll hit major plot points and game events and fill in the rest of the show with realistic storyline while fleshing out some of the peripheral things that didn't get as much time in the game. There's kind of a lot of repetitive things that happen during game play that they won't need to keep hitting on for television so that will allow for more character and world building, What I've enjoyed are each of the first two episode's opening scenes where they've looked back at the world before things went bad (or just as things are starting to go bad in episode 2) that weren't in the game at all. This show is doing everything right so far between blending game cannon and supplementing other things to enrich the world. Pretty exciting stuff so far.
  11. I frequently get offers to accept a later delivery, sometimes like 4-5 days, and they award digital rewards dollars as a credit that you can use towards Amazon's digital content. If you stack up enough of these digital rewards dollars you can use them to rent or buy movies on Prime Video at a discount or even for free if you have enough to cover the purchase price. Not a bad trade off if you don't actually need the 2 day shipping. If you don't want movies you can opt for Kindle eBooks, Amazon Appstore apps or Amazon Music downloads. One thing, they make it almost impossible to find your balance of accrued rewards. Below is a link that you can view your balance and see when rewards dollars will expire. https://www.amazon.com/norushcredits?ref_=ya_d_l_payment_methods_norushcredit
  12. Contreras will have months to adjust his frame of mind plus all of spring training to assimilate into his new team's culture. Schoop was traded at the trade deadline, from his original club and all that familiarity, and pretty much thrown right into the fire with expectations that he would produce and help boost a playoff run. Also I'd say Contreras' feelings aren't really so much an indictment of the Brewers as it is leaving a Braves club that's right up there with the Dodgers and Mets as top tier WS contenders. Even if we put on the rosiest of rose colored glasses the Brewers are just not on that level right now. Not many teams are.
  13. Yes, this. I'm seeing far too many assumptions across many topics that Frelick and co. are going to be day 1 members of the opening day roster. It's been pretty rare that the Brewers have brought guys up ahead of time and I feel like the times they have were times they simply couldn't afford not to. I think Hader's call up was right on the fringe and the club ended up being a day or two early on him. I believe Hiura was called up early as an injury replacement, then was sent back down after a few weeks with the team and I think we all remember how unpopular of a decision that was. Anyway I really do think they'll play the waiting game again with Frelick and perhaps others. Doesn't mean there won't be a circumstance where they eventually get called up for a trial run though.
  14. Remember kids, no successful person was 100% popular and there was always that one pesky dentist that didn't agree with the other 9.

  16. Maybe this isn't what people want to hear but would it be more digestible if the transaction articles were simply labeled "Transaction" rather than "Article"? Or "Roster Moves", something along those lines.
  17. The articles don't bother me much, I rarely read them but every once in a while I do. I don't really find it too hard to ignore them just like any other posted topic I don't care to read. That said I don't often visit this site on my phone, I nearly always use my ipad or computer. Those have larger screens and I can easily see many topics without having to scroll. I'm sure the experience is different on smaller screens.
  18. I feel like small ball is quite dead already. As others have said hitters haven't budged much on pull tendencies either. Weirdly, if base stealing becomes more attractive with better odds of success due to the other rule changes maybe that helps resurrect small ball strategies a bit. Also, changing the rules to restrict defensive shifts now doesn't mean they won't revisit the issue at some point in the future. All the sports go through rules adjustments pretty regularly. In the end baseball is going to be just fine one way or another.
  19. I hate the shift so I'm thrilled this is happening but I also don't really feel like defenses are going to suffer as much as those that oppose the new rule seem to think. Maybe it's only the idea of any restriction in principle that most are against. Teams will still be able to place the SS or 2B almost right behind the base. Makes me wonder if we'll see defenses in motion as the pitch is delivered to move players where they'd prefer to place them before this restriction. It could make the game more interesting as teams plan strategies to probe how they might best optimize defensive placements. Or more likely it will simply be a watered down version of what they're doing now. I'm hoping for some crazy stuff though. I'm in favor of the pitching clock and larger bases as well. Base stealing might see a bit of a renaissance.
  20. Coherence (2013) It's kind of like a Twilight Zone story, a tight, 90 minute, mind bender with an 8 person cast and nearly zero special effects. The setting of the movie is entirely contained in and around one house and a dinner party among longtime friends, on a night that a rare comet is passing close to Earth. It was really good, there came a moment perhaps in the first 30 minutes where I thought I had figured it out. Nope. I was kind of on the right track but also not really. It's free on Amazon Prime right now.
  21. What color is the confused font? Seriously though, I felt like I understood a lot of the complaining even though I was actually fine with every move but this is inexplicable. Lamet has talent, I really felt they'd make an effort to try him out for a while.
  22. There we go, Pickens is a non-factor at 53.
  23. I doubt it. I expect he'll need some time to develop. Packers likely will look for a veteran in trade or FA to be #1. He should contribute in kick/punt returns though, or be in the mix.
  24. *Unless they come from the same university. (blue)
  25. Not complaining, clearly Packers wanted Watson, but approaching 53 and Pickens is still out there.
